A scrawny gnoll hits YOU for 4 points of damage. You have been knocked unconscious. A scrawny gnoll hits YOU for 5 points of damage. You have been slain by a scrawny gnoll.

does anyone else think the 11 weight on this thing is a bit excessive? not that it would be a problem but damn that's a heavy robe, maybe it should have more ac?
Get a calamaty's end and call it even. This focus effect should be taken out of the game, it ruins way to many items with nice stats that could have just had a FT of some number slapped on it instead.
Exactly how does this focus effect "ruin" the robe? Are you saying 'give me FT or give me nothing?'
Saving mana on my nukes seems like a pretty good thing to me. Feel free to pooh pooh this robe if you need to. It'd be a nice upgrade for many of us.

Focus of Solusek is the exact same mana savings as Mana preservation 4, however it only works on detrimental spells. MP4 works on all spells except the normal AE and CHeal restrictions.
So basically, this is a "weak" focus item. Not bad, but definately not a great one.
Now, if Focus of Solusek did, say, 15% mana savings on detrimental spells, then it'd be something.
I think this would be a great robe for almost any int caster. I'd wear it. I mean, how often are int casters casting beneficial spells mid-fight? Arcane Rune for enchanters, maybe? Hardly anything for a necro? You could have this robe for battle, and free up other slots that have MP4 for better stat gear (ie ornate sleeves, ceramic water sprinkler of marr), then swap those in between fights when casting buffs.
The focus effect is not bad, the stats aren't SUPER considering you're killing the maestro, but there is no noticably better robe than this outside of raiding (with a focus effect).
I'd wear it on my wizard, a good sight better than the fairly stat-sad ornate silk sleeves. Of course, that requires shuffling improved damage elsewhere... Damn the focus effect juggling.
