I would presume so. It's needed for Necromancer Epic 1.0 and, if not available in the bazaar, they have to camp it. Even if it is available in the bazaar, that means someone else camped it. I plan to camp it for my necro instead of buying it.

Unlikely. There is so much better now available even at level 1.

Please note this also drops off of Modani Qu`Loni who is a 55 Enchanter named Scorpikis in the overthere. He is a rare spawn and used in the enchanter epic 1.0, and I killed him and this robe dropped.

Looted it off a trader in the bazaar.

I was able to pick this up in the Bazaar for 35p. I figured that was well work it instead of camping Najena. Especially seeing that back in the day it would have gone for way more.

this robe goes for 12000pp on 7th hammer as of today =/ and Najena and PH is on a 16 min timer. I've been camping this for a while now with my bard for a couple of hours now. and btw you can not pick her door, you will need the key.

As a lowbie, you can get a Crystal Covered Shroud for cheap these days. I regularly buy them for 10PP every time I create a newbie caster. It's a lot better than this.

Well I bought a Green Silken Drape for 75pp on my 11 Enchanter after recieving a FBR as a gift. I transed the FBR to my necro, but if I had known how great the GSD was for my necro I would still have it, but hey! Now my Necro looks sweet all in black with the design.

I agree. Stat-wise, this isn't really the best robe out there for a necro, but in my opinion, has the best robe graphic of any of them. A necromancer just looks rediculous in say, a crystal covered shroud or even worse, a Robe of the Oracle! A necromancer should not have a sun on their robe. Might as well have a smily face!

I'll probably keep this robe even when better are within my grasp, and just improve my other slots. I love the way this looks!

Hehe, if I wear a BCR, I'll get mistaken for an enchanter, and be constantly begged for clarity! Seems that 95% of everybody wearing a BCR is an enchanter.

Im guessing the reason this robe is 30+ is that it is one of the components/parts of the necro epic quest. I'm gonna say no more as I dont want to spoil for ppl.

Erm...huh?

The reason why it has "Level to Attain: 30" is because it drops from Najena herself. So you need to be at least lvl 30 to have a realistic chance of getting the Robe.

It's not that horrible "Recommended Level" that you have on some of the newer gear. "Level to Attain" is a rough estimate added on this site.

Recommended level is great, in my opinion. It stops all the twinks from thinking they're invincible and taking over zones that they're half the recommended level to take!

Now, don't get me wrong, twinks are just fine in by books so long as there's two things up with them:

One: They don't go hunting in areas FAR too high for them. And yes, they can have a lot of hp and mana these days.

Two: They LISTEN when the healer says 'oom'. There's nothing I hate more than a guy who thinks he's so uber that monsters aren't damaging him, rather than figuring out it's the healer keeping him AND HIS GROUP alive, that he pulls a couple reds and gets him and everyone else killed.

It is funny that 5 years after this post was written, I made a lvl 1 necro who was able to twink to 3k hps and 2.9k mana with 599 ac. I didn't die until lvl 51.

Amen man. I remember when i just started playing, the very second day. After a few weeks my magician was up to level 30 and i camped this thing all day in Najena. I was so proud of myself because It was uber! the only thing better than it was an Oracle robe (SMR's were pretty unheard of back than). Also before the implimentation of the secure drop item window. someone tricked me into dropping my FBR and i barely was able to pick it up! i almost cried!!!

I'm a lvl 5 necro on the Rathe. Someone just announced one day in Nektulos Forest that the first newb caster to poke him would get a good robe. I ran up, and the FBR was the robe. I love it! I'll definitely pass it on when I get an upgrade.

Back in the day, before all any of the expansions, in the old original EverQuest... the FBR was the pride of the level 30 caster. Of course, this was before the concept of twinking... when level 30 players fought level 30 mobs for what was then level 30 equipment, because you only wore that which you actually looted with your own hands. But then again, EQ was much different and much more intense game back then. Newcomers are spoiled beyond belief now with twinkage and the availability of quality equipment at dirt prices, with little or no concept of the difficulty (or, these days, lack thereof) required to obtain them. A mediocre level 10 today wears better gear than a well-equipped level 30 did back then.

3 years and 3 expansions later, the FBR isn't the best robe around any more. But that doesn't mean it's useless or worthless. People's expectations are just completely spoiled compared to the way the real EverQuest used to be many moons ago.

Just my perspective.

I have a friend with a lvl 24 mage who still is wearing a robe of the keeper, which is ac 7 2 int. I'm sure he would like one of these. Of course his robe is a cool red graphic. Unlike all the blue robes around now. But I assume this one has a black graphic ( I would hope).

It's (in my opinion) a pretty nice looking robe. It has the same look as the one the Priest of Discord wears. I was going to buy one with my level 20 necromancer, not because I really needed the stats, but because I was getting tired of my Sr. Apprentice Robe and its boring appeareance. However, somebody just up and gave me a crystalline robe, and it looks pretty enough for me, so I'm sticking with that.

Well, the robe of discord used to be a normal robe, it is now no rent (along with his staff). Probably to cut down on the number of people killing the POD.

On Veeshan I've seen alot of people with last name Darkcaster like me all Darkcasters should weap some kind of evil robe,cause we Darkcasters gotta stick together so...get a FBR and make your last name Darkcaster don't forget any evil staff or something like Staff of Writhing and become a DC cause i give cool stuff for new family =)

Well than I'm doubly thankful to that VERY nice erudite who came out of the blue as I was recovering in front of Felwithe and simply handed it to me. I was a level 4 magician and had just completed my normal cloth armor set. He also gave me a gold bracelet that enhances some attributes (I forget which) and when I asked what I could do to repay him he said, "Just pass it on when you're done with it." Well, I certainly will and have had some of my faith restored by this unasked for act of charity!

u kidding? najenas only like 25. and this suckers so easy to buy- VEARY circulated item. you can buy these for 100PP usually (some MEANIES try and sell for 200). trust me, u can get it for 100 easy u low lvls :)
