I think they nerfed the Corpse thing, not certain though. I heard they did recently because we had guildies leaving no rent keys on the corpses. they would die and leave the key on the body and loot it when they needed it.

Used in the Cloak of Truth Quest. Since it is No Rent they must be obtained and combined before you camp.
However -- a trick i hear -- but did not try -- is to duel another player and die. Leave them on your corpse and they will still be there after you camp and come back.

It is true that NO RENT items will not decay on a corpse. I've done it (not intentionally) when I had to camp and get my corpse the next day.

As you answer your question yourself, yes it's true. I've done it with my chanter a couple of times when i really had to log and items were in my satchels and i could not spare the time to go to bank to store or sell to vendor. The same goes for all summoned items i know, so it's very likely that this is item is no exception.
