How about the fact that BST pet weapon drops off 5 mobs and monk one drops off a trap spawn that gets bugged and only pops on server up. And even then it's a rare drop.

Beasts are supposed to be the whiners of EQ - always the first to complain about anything in pickup groups.

I've seen the monk pet procs rot many times in Earth, never once seen the trap bugged.
