stupid effects
# Feb 08 2004 at 2:44 PM Rating: Decent
Vengence VII is nice for the melee classes. Seems pretty stupid to put anger of solusek on this item though. Why not Pres of Xegony like every other elemental god bp? That way this bp might actually be worth something to a shaman. As it is I'll be praying for a time bp to replace the one I've had since velious...
stupid question
# Oct 15 2003 at 6:49 PM Rating: Decent
does the affect work on procs or posions for the poor rogue who happens to get this nice piece of chain or will he/she just have to live knowing that a nice spell enhancer go to waist
RE: stupid question
# Nov 22 2003 at 12:23 PM Rating: Default
No, does nothing for our weapon procs. It is very nice for our nooks though, and I really enjoy mine. The Vengance is a strange number, would of been nice to have a X instead of VII, but we get enough gear to cap out on the 250 attack anyways.
#REDACTED, Posted: Jul 29 2003 at 4:17 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) why do they make all the good equipment no drop and required lvl of 65 its hard enough to get it we should at least be able to trade it down to alts or sell it.
RE: why?
# Aug 16 2003 at 11:40 PM Rating: Decent
You really think chain classes will see an upgrade to a 65 AC tunic with these stats and vengeance VII?
I guess hope really does spring eternal.

#REDACTED, Posted: Aug 06 2003 at 9:26 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I agree with the lvl 65 req, but I could go for having less no drop loot. at least you could pass it on to a guild member when you get an upgrade, instead of it rotting in the bank

why would you want all the good equipment to be droppable and have no req. level? in that case, you could walk into PoP as a lvl 62 shaman, when you get there, and see someone's nice lvl 46 shaman alt with all the gear from Planes of Earth, Fire, Air and Water. Wouldn't that be just a bit annoying?

Ok, I'm the first to admit, the stats on this chestpiece is damned sweet, it's just a pity the focus effect is next to useless. Only class that will benefit from it is the shaman. And the chances they'll be using Velium Strike or Spear of Torment in any great numbers is slim.

Would have been more appropriate for something like Preservation of Xegony like the Fennin Ro leather BP, or Conservation of Bertoxxulous a 30% mana reduction on DOTs, which doesn't appear to have been used on anything, or Chronoburn 25% spell duration for detrimental spells, which would be great for the Malos, Slow line.

I would bid points on this BP. The stats that would get me to drop my Ldon BP for this is in this order

HP/Mana combo
FR (why does Shammy gear always have CR on it?)
AC
AND the effect!

By the time you are able to kill Corny a Shaman should have Rosrak's Gauntlets of the Primal. With these gloves effect of Saryrn's Torment giving a 25% mana reduction and my spell haste I could be casting SOT for around 200 mana and cast every 5 seconds doing 840ish . Thats better then a 4 to 1 ratio which is sweet. Makes for a nice kill shot if you are soloing or doing exp and also can help out on the bottom 50% of a raid mob.

Askr's armor has a lot of focus effects on it, the arms have imp damage 5 on them, so the focus on this is about same as ranger elemental arms, witch most will have before they even get a chance at this.

the veng7 on this item is nice but kind of weird at the same time, over all very nice tunic, looking forward to obtaining one.

Actually, rangers probably nuke more often than shamen. This effect perfectly suits our two post-60 nukes, and many of us chain cast them.

The effects you describe would be more approiate for shamen only. Anger of Solusek is an effect that helps both listed casting classes about equally, and is a better design choice than dot extension or mana preservation.

Hmm. ok, perhaps my eyes were tired, but for the life of me, I didn't see, or chose not to recognise Ranger listed, which being chain, would have been stupid for it not to be there..

I obviously set myself on a chain of thought (pardon the pun) which I blinkered my way though..
#REDACTED, Posted: Apr 23 2003 at 5:41 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) maybe you should double check. Its one thing to be a ingorant fool, its another thing to be one and think your right. HA! oh, maybe you should read some books or something, your reading comprehesion skills suck. I appologize for being rude.

#REDACTED, Posted: Apr 22 2003 at 7:56 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Hmm? i wonder why only those classes? and imagine the stuff we will find in 5th tier planes like PoT or elemental planes which are 4th tier are'nt they? all ***** it!!
RE: /drool

haven't you noticed anything about the elemental gods yet? Fennin drops the Immaculate Vest of the Fire Tyrant, which is super uber for leather classes (dru, mnk, bst) , Xegony drops the Vest of Pheonix feathers, super uber for silk classes (nec, mag, wiz, enc), and Coirnav drops the Mail of Storms, super uber for chain classes (shm, rng, rog). In all probability, the Rathe in PoEB will drop some form of super uber plate breastplate for the plate classes (war, clr, pal, shd, brd). these chest pieces seem to be in place of the elemental class specific chest pieces, which for whatever reason verant/soe has, do not seem to drop in the elemental planes. if you do a search by slot on this site for chest items for all classes, and ask for them in order of overall stats, the elemental god chest pieces are at the ultra high end of the list, second only to the elemental class specific chest pieces.

And you have been proven correct sir! Good post. Here's the breasplate off Avatar of Earth acc. to Alla:

Chestguard of Enchanted Marble

Pretty spiffy.
#REDACTED, Posted: Apr 23 2003 at 12:18 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Well with that point proven, and you are quiet right about what you said but the fact being EQ is at its climax, once AL hits up the PoT the game has pretty much been beatin, many say kifrym will be in there, and if so, what would that say about him in ST (thats saying if someone hasn't awoken him there, sorry MM AL did =\)? EQ has always released high lvl zones over high lvl zones that kind of contradicts the story itself, I mean wasn't Veashons Peak the hardest zone in the game Pre-Velious but then they release velious and then it brings ToV which as had sooo many wipeouts you couldn't count them on 20 ppls hands. Then you get the release of SoL which brings into the game 2 higher lvl zones that have not only made SS armor and ToV armor drops look bland , SStemple and VT. Now you have Pop. Has mobs that make fungis on shamans useless at high end since they don't get jack for regen with mobs quading for 400dmg and nasty AoE spells and dropping armor that is insanly l33t... so most of you are going so what , whats your point, my point is, i wish They would update these zones and keep the = in terms of risk vs reward. back in the day getting drops from VP was awesome, there was nothing else like it, now everyone is hyped on PoP gear. ppl could give 2 $hits less and so you have soo many unplayed zones anymore like Cazic thule and parts of old wolrd kunark zones. Players are so powerful they farm gear that used to be l33t and it all just makes everything seem to unbalanced, instead of worrying about balancing charecter classes they need to rebalance every high end zone in the game, spread armor around and make things worth killing now.

Well my first guess would be because it's "Mail" and the only 3 classes that are Chain classes are Ranger, Rogues and Shaman. But I could be wrong...
