I wanted to make these to skill-up my tailoring, however, when I hit 170 I got the message (you can no longer ...)

Did you have any skill modifiers equipped?

it ticks me off
# Sep 28 2005 at 4:00 PM Rating: Default
It ticks me off that it cost me 250pp each to make a ton of the gem studded chain, and people in baz are selling the robe for 35-50pp!! argh. now hardly anyone will buy my tons of chains, and those sell back to merchant for 21pp. trying to advance my JC skill cost me a quick 10k for no skill ups, and no resale value either...

Sony hit these things with a nerf bat. As of yesterday's patch they are now trivial skill 252.
Earing of the Solstice
# May 26 2004 at 10:15 AM Rating: Decent
This robe is one of the nine ingredients needed to make the earing of the solstice. The other ingredients are as follows:
-Demi-sec Champagne
-Misteltoe cutting sickle
-Golden Idol of Tunare
-Blessed fishing rod
-Star ruby encrusted stein
-Lotus Pie
-Misty thicket picnic
-Lucky Cabbage

Combine all items in a forge for a no fail earing called the earing of nature (druid only).
Take the ring to Rebecca Cabbageleaf in Fungus Grove (entrance is hidden door behind soulbinder in shadowhaven). Ask here what earing! Then give her the earing and she will swap it for the Earing of Solstice!! Awsome no drop earing! Any race / any class / any level. 55hps 55 mana and more. Enjoy!!

Funny that you only mentioned the hps and mana.... Mana Regen +1 is its main attraction in my opinion.
Bought For 16 Plat =)
# May 19 2004 at 8:52 AM Rating: Default
Couple weeks ago, someone on Veeshan sold one of these to the tailor vendor in POK. The vendor priced it at only 16 plat. I was very happy.

:)

I've been regularly seeing them in the Bazaar for around 250-300, tho.
Brought one
# May 17 2004 at 2:45 AM Rating: Decent
Brought one for 99pp on the Bristlebane Server today :)
Nope

These have been sold for as low as 150p, taking a huge loss just cause they are a skillup path, BEFORE the new UI.
Selling for 900+pp
# Apr 05 2004 at 6:12 PM Rating: Decent
This is not a bad option for trade skill ups for tayloring... If you have the spare 700+pp. As the gem studded cahin is given back on fails, that is the most expencive piece. the silk are easy to make if you follow the potery guide to get you potory skill up... and that oly cost 30pp!

I plan on swapping to something different once I can craft one out of five attempts.

This Bite's as a Skill up item
# Mar 23 2004 at 5:12 PM Rating: Decent
I was looking for tailoring skill up since this was a 335 trival. My tailoring was at 125 when I tried to do a combine of the Robe and on second attempt behold I made the robe. A robe that sells for 300p on drinal sever costed me around 9k to make and got one skill up off of it. Now I hopeing when I doing the tailoing part of the Coldian shawl quest I will be so fortunate.
Ceremonial Solstice Robe

Today one trader on Kane Bayle has 33 of them for sale at 500 each.
I think the new tradeskill UI has people turning out items like never before.
Real trivial
# Mar 02 2004 at 1:20 AM Rating: Decent
With new tailoring window this robe's trivial is 335 not sure if that will help but thats what it is heh

tailoring experience

Seems to me this would be a key step in leveling tailoring up instead of getting hopperhides for acrylia studded and reinforced. It has an extremely high trivial, so odds are you will have many failures. The catch is, the most expensive component (the chain) is returned on failure. If you succeed you can sell it for a profit. Anyone see a fault in my reasoning?

Depends on whether you don't mind spending countless hours hunting hopper hides (acryllia is the easy part) or if you have the capital to make the robes. A friend of mine skilled from the ribbon trivial 187 to 250 off the robes for about 200k.

this costs alot to make. The gem studded chain costs 300plat just for the gems (Ruby=141, sapphire=104, emerald=14)plus 3 emeralds for dust of tunar just to make 1 robe. It's hard to believe the currently listed average price of 790.

I see them on for 790 once in awhile, but not often.
human only
