O.K. I sell these on The Tribunal and i see people buying them 60 to 100 at a time.....i know that you only need like 9 of em to dye all your armor slots.....what else are these being bought for?
A Vial of Prismatic Dye Sells for 0 plat 1 gold 9 silver 0 copper at vendor Sateal Deirosap in the bazaar (human Monk level 2 charisma 141). Who in their right mind would do this?? hehe... the components cost almost 30 plat....

ok, im sick and tired of only being able to dye my Druid's leather armor darker colors. i was wondering if there is ANY way to dye it lighter w/out it going neon green ... like white/silver would be nice. Just wanted to know if there was a tint or stain or something else out there that would let me go white instead of the waves of black now washing over eq.
i cant se4am to get my mages robe a darl almost black color ...everytime i set it to almost black it goes back up to 25 witch is an ugly puke color lol anyone know how to make it almost black?
doing 255 does NOT work if you are wearing a full set of Extravagant cultrual armor, this will just turn it white as the base color of extravagant armor (for chain wearers anyhow) is 0,0,0, just an FYI.
#255 changes the armor tint to the closest to white on the spectrum as it can get. There is no such thing as "undying". Once your armor color is is changed, you may notice a difference in the next color set you choose. All armor (accept invisable armor from PoM) comes with its own color. Undying would revert your armor to its origonal color being what ever the programers had origonaly intended. So if your colors wont get light enough, or dark enough, or stuck on Neon green when you chose red, try dying your armor white. Then redye again for your prefered color.
I tryed to undye my garment by using white, it worked, but another one i put on instead of bright pink natural color it is a dull greyish white, What do i do to go total natural?
I would like to say thanks Dragadin for the suggestion of setting all the color tints to 255. I does work if you want to have the original color show plus the original color for any other garment you put on. Thanks again =)
I've noticed this too. I think this is so you can see the outline shading -- the Robe of Shadows I wear isn't completely black, just a very dark grey. If you play with putting on and taking off items in the Dye window, you'll see that their "black" is fairly black. There seems to be a display bug when you first set something black that displays it as a medium grey.
i belev the ancer is that ther is no number "0" for coler u simpy dont put any on then so if daker is lower then "1" would be corect. i have not dyed anythin but it makes sens black is thotel coler like wite is absens of coler
White is the ABSENCE of Color Black is the PRESENCE of all Colors Combined White is the PRESENCE of all LIGHT Combined Black is the ABSENCE of all light
How ever you feel about the innate value of being able to color your armor, the average cost to produce each dye vial is approx 35p... and that's with MAX chance for success on both tradeskills involved. I think it's unrealistic to expect folks to sell it at 30p when it costs 35p and requires trips to gunthak to resupply and then forces you to sit over a brew barrel AND pottery wheel to do THREE combines for each vial.. all of which can (and do) fail. Personally I wouldn't spend the time and money to get my tradeskills up just so I could slave away and make dyes for you at a loss!!
Even at 40p the hassle of tying up all that Plat up front for a 5p profit isn't the most attractive investment.
Put simply, the market decides what is a fair price. And prices should go down not up over time. So I have trouble believing that dyes were selling for so low.
Maybe you don't feel that coloring your toon is worth 49p. Dying armor is a luxury that poor folks shouldn't bother with if they think its too expensive.. If everyone griped like you do.. then you'd all be making your own damn dyes, cuz I certainly wouldn't. Tradeskillerz for the most part are an honest, (and sometimes even generous} bunch... Supplying services to buy their spells and gear to have more fun playing the game. ;-}

Btw I think dye has gotten too expensive. 49pp yeah right. I'm glad I colored my chars the way I wanted to back when the price was 30-40pp per dye.
Supply and demand. It takes three successful combines for each vial of dye, and you have to get to Guthark to get the supplies. I was selling it for 50pp each, and I would sell out 5 or 6 stacks of them in just a few hours. It got to be a hassle to constantly restock, so I jacked up my price.
I can't see anyone selling them for 30pp, that's about how much the materials cost.
Just a word of warning, although the trivial is fairly low there is quite a high failier rate on making these bad boys... with the brewing skill at least. If you're planning on making quite a few I would recommend getting your brewing to at least the 125 area. Bearing in mind the cost of the componants, failing these can be very annoying. I fail around 1 in 20 now with a brew skill of over 150 8(
Still, quite a good money maker if you make enough...
A 5% fail rate is always there no matter how high your skill level. There's an AA ability of Alchemy Mastery that cuts your fail rate for Alchemy in half, I wonder if that cuts the minimum fail rate to 2.5%.
My Alchemy skill is 175 so the dye isn't that big of a problem, but my pottery skill is still in the 50's, so I have trouble with the dye vials.

When you posted in April it was true that tradeskills had a min chance to fail of 5%. But as of the July 10 patch SOE said:
- Tradeskill chance of failures changed - The higher your skill is over the trivial of the combine, the less likely you are to fail with a combine. This is a reduction on the chance to always fail.
I havent gotten good enuff to notice any difference yet, but if anyone has results that show an improved success rate for Uber Tradeskillers please do post your results. I'm curious if it really makes a difference.

with smithing at 219 making items trivial at 46 i only fail about 1 in 100 now(1000 made 12 fails), seems the same with most brewing and fletching recipies i make on a daily basis
Anyone know how to get rid of the dye? Example: I dyed my chest slot a blue color and now I want to see the natural color of my new Froglok Bonecaster Robe. Any suggestions how I do that?
Thanks for any info anyone can provide.

I have heard that dying it again at 255, 255, 255 will retore its original color.
If that doesn't work, talk to someone with the same robe and an undyed chest slot, and have them read off the default color from the dye screen. If you have to, you can hand the robe to soemone you trust and who hasn't dyed their chest yet, and who can wear it, and they can give you that info.
Did you try the "Reset" button in the dye window. I have heard that will set it to its original color.
