I just checked, this item is worth zero tribute. So really no reason at all to do this quest anymore.

Might want to look at that again, it is definitely tradeable. I am looking at one that is being sold in the bazaar as I type this. This may have been No Drop at one point, but not at this time.

Wolf Form
# Aug 09 2004 at 1:41 AM Rating: Decent
Wolf Form doesn't change your class so it won't effect the charm at all.
RE: Wolf Form
# Sep 11 2004 at 12:54 AM Rating: Good
But. In thoery It changes your race, and according to someone farther down the threads it DOES effect it.

Quote:
yes they do apparent race is enough to trigger the effect of this charm. Infact if you really want to push this example Pack wolf form will make you get the full benifit of this charm as all 6 group members become Race: Wolf.
RE: Wolf Form
# Jul 22 2005 at 11:14 AM Rating: Decent
No they don't, their race becomes "unknown."
RE: Wolf Form
# Jan 06 2006 at 1:48 PM Rating: Decent
This has been changed. Formerly "unknown" races are now identified.

#REDACTED, Posted: Aug 06 2004 at 11:22 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) this charm would be vary nice in the hands of a dru when casting wolf form on all car it be maxed out =) sory bout the spelling.
great that does look at base race.
# Aug 02 2004 at 2:39 AM Rating: Decent
Its a good thing it doest go by the base race and goes with the illusion race if u have one on.

Today I was in group in DSP. Me being bard. There was another bard in group. So I automatically got +5HP +5Mana +5Endurance and +2SV magic. Then I used my DE illusion mask and turned into a Dark elf. Our Cleric wa Dark elf. and Wham charm gives +10HP +10Mana +10Endurance and +4SV Magic. If it looked at base race then i would NOT get the extra bonus. The illusions allow you to adjust to rest of the group getting most benefit.

Like for instance if you have a chanter in group then he can turn u all into 1 race and you can be getting extra 25HP 25Mana 25Endurance and 10Sv Magic =D

Let Down Necromancer
# Jun 27 2004 at 11:22 PM Rating: Default
I am kind of let down by the "apparent" race glitch of this charm. I noticed today while grouping with another human that I was recieving no benefit from this because I was in skeletal form.

Should default to base race in my opinion.

i don't get it. everyone's saying "if 6 de are grouped, or all iksars" and so on. the item says class, not race, so i don't get why race would matter.

edit: nevermind. i figured it out. the alla description says race or class, but the picture of the item itself only says class.

RE: confused
# Aug 31 2004 at 4:55 PM Rating: Default
That's because this charm used to only work for others of the same class, which made it worthless for many classes (how often do multiple clerics, shaman, enchanters, and the like group together?).
PvP Servers
# Apr 05 2004 at 9:02 PM Rating: Decent
On Sullon Zek, it's not uncommon to see a group entirely of Dark Elves, with more than one Necro/SK, so in those situations, this charm would probably be a lot more useful. I'm sure this is even more true on the race-based PvP servers. So I don't think this charm is totally useless, & I currently have nothing in my charm slot, anyway, so just about anything would be an improvement over nothing :)
has it's uses...
# Jan 28 2004 at 10:20 PM Rating: Decent
If you've ever spent time in the kite groups in PoV, HoH, etc. you know that quite often, there are as many as three or four of a particular class in that type of group. Figure on one puller (druid or ranger works best) and the rest being any combination of necro, mage, beastlord, or wiz - sometimes with something else thrown in if pickings were slim. (No offense to classes not listed; you're invaluable in other types of groups.) At any rate, a few days ago I was in a kite group in PoV (OC camp) with four other necros and a druid. And I DIDN'T HAVE MY CHARM OF THE BROTHERHOOD ON ME!!! Stupid thing was in the bank due to how useless it is 99% of the time. (I have Intricate Wooden Figurine and Shimmering Emerald Crystal for charm slot as well.)

So now, I carry the charm. So far I haven't had a group where it's be that useful now that I'm carrying it, but you never know.
stacks?
# Dec 22 2003 at 6:10 PM Rating: Decent
what if your whole group of 6 DE necros (example) has the charm? Anyone tested this?.... Would be pretty cool if each charm gave each person the bonus.

I'm afraid your logic eludes me. Why would other people in the group gain stats from your charm? I don't mean to be rude, but think about it .. it makes no sense.. is there a situation in which this occurs with other items in the game?
RE: stacks?
# Apr 11 2004 at 4:05 PM Rating: Decent
Leadership abilities apply to your group, so the point is logical if being asked by someone asking from a no charm/all chars under 40 perspective. Considering the wackiness of some of the charms (charm of solitude comes to mind), the question was fair and genuine anyway.

well yes.. and bard songs effect whole groups .. but that doesn't mean every bard in their group can have the equivelant of the best persons drum effects. And yes. .charm of the solitude is kinda odd.. but if there's 50 people in zone and you have 6 people with charm of solitude in your group, you still only get the effect of having 50 people in zone. If there's a leadership ability that allows various items to amplify each others effects based on how many people in your group have the item then we've still got no lead in. unless you're refering to that specific scenerio. But there's no mention of leadership ability mods.. He's asking if the items alone will amplify eachother ..
RE: stacks?

Everyone in that group that had the charm would get the stats, because everyone in that group would meet their charm's requirements.
RE: stacks?
# Jan 30 2004 at 9:59 AM Rating: Decent
Yes, but would they get the stats from each others charms? so the bonus X 6? Maybe someday I'll be high enough to test it myself lol.
Almost

Mix & match groups work
# Aug 12 2003 at 5:56 PM Rating: Decent
Just to confirm (because it hasn't been mentioned explicitly yet) the increase in stats is seen when simultaneously grouping with people of the same race and/or class (anyone who meets either of the criteria): you don't all have to be of the same race/class to see the added benefits.

e.g.: my wood elf rogue saw the first effect level (1ac, 5hp, 5m, 2SvM) grouping with a wood elf ranger, and the second effect level (2ac, 10hp, 10m, 4SvM) when a half-elf rogue joined us.

So mix-and-match works too. Pretty self-evident from the charm description anyway, but just in case anyone was wondering... ;)
#REDACTED, Posted: Aug 20 2003 at 2:17 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) am i pickin a nit? you said that mixing and matching is ok...you are rite...you can make a whole party of woodies, and/or rogues, and get the effect from either. but my ogre warrior would not grant any added benefit. unless your woodie druid was kind enough to make us all puppies.

I think there was a slight misunderstanding in the post Jezh made; Jezh was indicating (I believe) that you could group w/ same class, or same race, and the members of the group do not all have to be either same class, or same race as you. So you could have a human rogue (Different race, same class), and wood-elf druid (Differen class, same race) and you will get the effect for 2 group members matching the charm's requirements.
Of course your Ogre Warrior would not match ANY of the charm's requirements, so there would be no bonus.
New info has come to light
# Jul 11 2003 at 11:25 PM Rating: Decent
The stats when everyone is the same race or class is not what is shown on the picture, the stats shown on the picture show what it would look like if only 1 of the same race or class was in the group, when theres 2 others that meet qualifications, its 2AC, 10HP, 10Mana, 4SVMagic, and I expect it raises by 1ac, 5hp, 5m, and 2svmagic for each other in the group that meets qualifications, but im thinking, like some other charms, this gets an effect when the maximum potential, (full group of same race or class), or even a stat bonus higher than the normal addition since you managed to pull it off, however, the reason there are so many with it isnt because they always group with their own race or class, its because of Share Wolf Form, IT WORKS!!!!
RE: New info has come to light
# Aug 30 2003 at 2:45 PM Rating: Good
it does. the stats are for EACH ADDITIONAL member of same race or class. so our group get
5AC, 25HP, 25Mana, 10SVM when we are all in wolfform. i tried and tested. its true

Well looks like todays patch has made this thing a damned sight more useful. Now it works with class OR race. Being a Cleric I have never seen it with stats (my guild, wisely, has a no cleric grouping rule as for some odd reason we always end up killing ourselves in novel ways), but being a Dwarf and knowing a fair number of fellow beardie Paladins, I think I may actually see some payback on this slot filler

Oh yes, hehe. Honestly this was nearly useless bedore this change, as a group rarely needs more than one of the same class anyway.

BTW, this seems to check for APPARENT race, not ACTUAL race, I got increased stats when the halfling rogue in my group used the iksar illusion on his iksar hide mask, but in anotehr group I lost stats when the iksar shaman in my group used bear form.

So if you have a druid, have him shared wolf form everybody, or if you have an enchanter with project illsuion, have them make everybody look like the same race, and you'll max out the stants on this, hehe.

idea.
# Jun 02 2003 at 3:29 AM Rating: Default
I've always wanted to make an sk/necro only guild. Imagine. I think that with large groups of the same class, there can be far more organization on raids and such. Mass harm touch, letting SKs back off to lifetap while the others take the damage, necros dotting and recasting pets and such. Sounds fun, and could make practical use of this charm on raids.

I have heard rumors on my server about this bieng the first part of a bigger quest . If that is true then the lame stats wouldnt matter if your just going to turn it in for something better.
Poor stats
# May 10 2003 at 10:24 PM Rating: Default
Seems like a pretty crappy item to me. Yeah I know the excuse its better than nothing, but I'm not really so sure. Five mana is the same as nothing. And considering the level you have to be to even attempt to get this item, makes it all the more worthless. This is something you would expect to find in a newbie quest.

And what even makes it more stupid is Verant made it "no drop"... as if people are going to start pawning this hot item off in the Bazaar for profit. Yeah right.

I did my turn-in the night before last. Take the coins straight to the NPC! Beyond that I will tell you that I went to Bazaar and grouped with two other Rangers that weren't busy. I'm 44 and they were 44 and 44+. The yield was:10HP, 3AC, MR +4.....I will repost with solo and more than 3 soon. Haven't had a group with more than 2 Rangers since HiKeep days of lvl 27-31-ish. The item has a minimum level of 15.....maaaybe means something.....prolly not - no amount of twinkin would have you out there in Dulak earlier than 25ish[and that's with major help]. All-in-all.....I'm pleased with my 1st of many Charms......

Never say never. I didnt think I would group with other druids other then my husband. I've been a couple of groups with 2 to 4 druids making up group. This charm would be nice for a few extra stats that I wouldnt have otherwise.

This item was bugged on Veeshan at least but after reporting it to GM's it is now fixed.

I'm just happy i have a charm slot, for all those who say its crap, i agree im not really going to group with other Beast's but i am just glad that there may be a chance to get some extra COMPLETELY FREE stats.
