proc?

some people are talking as if this has an ae or AoE proc...anyone know? the item description in the picture says that the proc is directed toward the target, and not the area around the target...

The spell you are referring to in the Magic based Druid/Ranger catagory is Careless Lightning that is an AOE. Does like 75 dmg to three - four mobs if memory serves correctly.

she gets soloed a lot
# Jun 13 2003 at 8:20 AM Rating: Decent
was in nadox last night and was gonna camp down in hatchery with another mage partner and i was telling him bout broodmother when there she was! i had just seen a bard running out of the ambassador's room and started telling my guildy bout her, then the broodmother starts walking out with her minions. I ooc thanks for the warning and we invised and ran to the safe tunnel to pull from instead. the 65 bard said sorry and that he was gonna pull her to the fire pit in a few min. He eventually did and soloed her and got the ring she drops, guess they didnt make her too hard if a bard can easily dot/kite her without too much trouble...

I doubt anyone could solo the Luggald Broodmother, I've seen a lvl 65 necro try and solo him and die quick

The necro must have been a very bad one then. Not a rough solo at all for a 65.

Actually, I know of druids and bards that solo her.... Necro isn't > all. It depends on the situation. If you can pull her to an empty area, it isn't that hard. Torgiran zoneline works pretty well, from what I hear... I'm sure the innate camo/invis song helped with the pulling part.

Aye to be fair if a mob is soloable it is more than likely going to be done by a bard first. Depending on the situation but not needing mana is a real bonus, I know i've solo'd a mob 12 levels above my bard with little difficulty........it may take a while but if its possible then a bard can do it.

#REDACTED, Posted: Apr 06 2003 at 11:29 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) i know why all of the classes are listed for this weapon except 1. WHY is it sk compatible it has wis bonus we go off our int? yes i know years ago we went off our wis but they changed it so why didnt they change it all? i would like this weapon for it is better then mine but its not worth the lost int to change up.
RE: WHY just WHY
# Jun 12 2003 at 5:40 PM Rating: Decent
does it really hurt you to have SHD listed on this weapon? why complain, if they left SHD off it would change nothing.. If you aren't going to use it, don't. But don't freaking whine about something that has absolutely no bearing on you whatsoever, they aren't making you use it.

Procs @ 50, at dex 164 me monk procs this at lev 50 for 122 non-melee damage, most mobs resist stun, but it does work! Awesome weapon for the AoE, and the SoS I use, makes nice combo.

edges one blunt weapons
# Mar 08 2003 at 12:59 PM Rating: Excellent
you guys ever head of s splitting maul? it's what you use to split firewood, not an ax like most people would think. It's a large block of metal with a edge on it that you probably couldn't cut pudding with but with the right swing you can split a section of oak right down the middle. Now if you were hitting flesh with it it might break skin but it'd be the same way a rock on your head would. And as far as traditional swords go a Two Handed Greatsword was never a cutting weapon cause you really didn't need to spend a month trying to evenly sharpen a four or five foot long double edged blade That you knew was gonna get dulled the first time you actually hit someone. It's power was in hitting things with a lot of momentum and the impact being spread over a dozen square inches at most.
#REDACTED, Posted: Mar 06 2003 at 2:07 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) This should pretty much be war only, there isn't any othere class on there that would / should use it, the proc on it is SUPER high agro, monks / bst get much much better, pal/sk would never use this, bards have way to many bard only wepons that are better , and rogues have better wepons but would be killed pretty fast useing this cause of Backstab and agro proc on this and well same with rangers but your Bow dmg Ownz your melee dmg anyways so not many rangers would want to use this.
RE: war only
# May 18 2003 at 7:51 AM Rating: Default
WRONG! The amount of agro caused by lightning surge is largely meaningless. I was easily able to keep agro from a booned ranger who was using silver blade of thunder which procs ~250pt dd and stun. We were the same lvl, he outdamaged me, and all I did was stun on the pull and chain taunt from there.
RE: war only
# Mar 06 2003 at 11:01 PM Rating: Default
er does anyone actually raid this mob? generally just went to this area w/ a couple people fooling around. cursed drops the bloodfrenzy, and that cycle can be done with 16 people(even if the cursed fight is 45 minutes).
RE: war only
# May 16 2003 at 11:54 AM Rating: Decent
she's been soloed, by a druid... some people do raid her though.
RE: war only
# Mar 06 2003 at 9:08 PM Rating: Excellent
Actually Akidoo, with the Jolt spell, many Rangers would gladly accept this weapon. Another thing I have learned that you may want to consider.....I try not to use the words ONLY, NEVER, and ALWAYS. Then there is the good humor that is the word AssUme ( I'll let you figure that one out. )
RE: war only
# Mar 06 2003 at 6:10 PM Rating: Decent
don't even say stuff like that you're bound to get flamed and your rating killed. Anyway you're gonna find this out sooner or later but bows are not always the greatest weapon in some situations.

# Mar 06 2003 at 3:49 PM Rating: Decent
Would go great with Scepter of Destruction (288 DD and stun, 398 crit nuke with AA ingenuity) I use in primary, and have this in offhand../drool.

Yeah... Bows suck so much that they out damage wizzies. Rangers suck so bad that with SoV and NTD they easily blow away rogues with the exact same buffs. Every class has advantages and disadvantages. All I know is that I keep all 3 of our rangers hasted and NTD and they have the BEST DPS in the game when they use their bows. And they had no agro, until the "restructuring" of agro for rangers. Thanks VI.

I will tell you now that this weapon is MOST effective in the offhand than the primary hand as a warrior. I own this weapon and I will tell you it in conjunction with the Blaphemous Blade of the Exiled makes a very nice combination because of the double spell stun, If Sanity Warp doesn't get em then Lightning Call does.

bladed?
# Mar 04 2003 at 6:43 PM Rating: Default
Forgive my lack of knowledge concerning warhammers and such, but shouldn't something that's "bone-bladed" be an edged weapon, and not a blunt weapon?
RE: bladed?
# Mar 05 2003 at 7:24 PM Rating: Default
They would have to call it the "Bone-Headed Hammer" then. :)
RE: bladed?

well maybe one side is flat(the front end) and the back is clawed or has a blade or spike....
just a hypothesis

This item looks identical to a Dark Ember.. You're dead on about they way it looks.. BTW if your looking to take this guy out think INNORUUK and you got probley his closest double but with a little slight difference.. From what I noticed it didnt seem to take 15 minutes to kill this guy compared to the 3 hours it feels for Inny.. No sick twisted knockbacks.. and no annoying regen..

Watch for the proc on this weapon though she hit me about 20 times and it does proc a remarkable amount of times but with a MR over 100 it was very simple to resists proced 4 times and i never took a point of damage.. The spell is a druid spell that is a ALL or NONE type spell meaning that if it normally does 150DD then it cant do like 76DD like some other weapons.. Also stun is extreamly short duration.. Just small enough to cancel magic is all.. Not bad though.. Max hit was 495 i believe.. Didnt catch bash..

I look forward to seeing what else will make this gal worth killing.. Should be fun.. Gotta watch her immunity time period though..
RE: bladed?
# May 22 2003 at 7:33 PM Rating: Default
Forgive me if this sounds rude, but wouldn't no regen, no stun, and far less annoying make her not like Innoruuk?

Boxing is like dancing, except that there's no coreography and the dancers hit each other (related to above topic).
