Required: YesI have killed tons of these, I'm on vulak now and I have killed around 100 just got one to drop off a Greenwood. Not sure that I have ever looted one before. I have seen them drop in groups in fm, but never won roll.
Good luck they still drop just not often.

On Fippy: I don't farm the earrings specifially, but I do use the WW giants for exp from 21-24ish. I've noticed the loot is very random. Last night i got 2 earrings in about 4 hours with a mix of low grade gems and runes. A few nights ago, i got several leg choppers and one axe, time before that was hammers of flattening. Over all, i seem to get a couple loot items of a random nature during the night providing a nice $$ bump on a new (to me) server.

Well, Well, just got one of these from the giant fort in Warslik's Wood, didn't even realize I got it, because well I was a tad displeasured at not finding any jade shards, so I tore apart the whole camp in a fit of Dwarven angst, I submitted a screenshot of it also :). Was at the vendor selling stuff and I clicked on it and the vendor said 274p and I was like :O !!!! Looked at stats and said oh yeah Im wearing this. Almost sold it to the vendor without even looking... sad sad. Nice earring though.

i bought a forest loop about a year ago for 50pp.....just sold it to a vendor for 285pp....not a bad investment if ya can get em...
I spent several levels with my magician in Dreadlands, killing all the common mobs including giants, without ever finding a Forest Loop. In fact, I had pretty much forgotten that it was a possible drop. Then this morning, I killed a MG steep, and there was this earring - a Forest Loop. Great! Was killing a chicken when a MG craig blindsided me. I finished the cockatiel, then I killed the giant, and - lo and behold! - my second-ever Forest Loop. Never saw one, then got two back-to-back. :) I passed them on to my druid, since my mage really couldn't use them. But at least I know they still drop and can be found. It's just that, sometimes, you have to wait a long time.

I have been reading and reading about these late 20's early 30's just romping around and whumping on stuff. Maybe i don't know the trick, but at 35, a bard of my stature has to single pull to the OT zone and medding after each one. what am I missing. I tried to run the Giant camp in Warslik's but got bored after the xp stopped and in three solo levels there I saw no FLoop!

Oh my good god! At 35 you should be soloing the ENTIRE giant fort in Frontier Mountains, or soloing 3-4 hill giants in Rathe Mountains. To find out what you're doing wrong, head over to eqdiva.com and read up on charm/swarm kiting.
I've been swarm kiting giants in Frontier Mountains from level 28, I can safely pull 10-15 giants although 4-5 is ideal, and I've seen two Forest Loops so far.

At your level, you should be at the FM camp, not the Warsliks one. Alternately, and with a good group, you could fight in DL, although if you do that, hunt the roamers near KC N wall, not the fort, as you get fewer adds,and at 35, a couple adds could mess you up.

One just dropped from a forest giant ancient in BW. Been here off and on for 2 levels. This is the first one I have seen.

Well my druid has been there for a week now and not only have I not found a loop but only 1 leg-chopper has dropped, it's just taking forever to get a loop!
I looted one at Dreadlands from a giant, and i sold it to a NPC Merchant at the Bazaar for 260pp.

Did they nerf these drops too? I have been hunting Forest Giants for three levels now on Vazaelle, and not one has dropped. I know they have nerfed a lot of the other items that people were farming.

no they didnt nerf the item. i just picked one up in warslilks off of one of the giants. was surprised because i heard they were rare and i got mine within 30 minutes.

i found one too. i was getting exp and heard it was rare drop. got one in like 1 or 2 hours without really trying. sold in bazaar for 250pp. it sells easily cause i got 3 offers for it. i went back to look for one again but havent found one yet... been there like 2 levels now. now i believe it is rare heheh

I've wiped out the giant camp (Warslik's Wood) 3 times (I'm a lvl 31 warrior) and got one of these.. I've been told about every 2 times you clear out the camp you get one.
Looking for experience and good loot? Head on down to Warslik's Wood! I can take out the entire camp in 20 mins, and leave with at LEAST 20% HP and at LEAST 10% exp at lvl 31 and plenty of plat and loot! Another good thing is that there is NO ONE in the zone (On Solusek Ro)

Well, maybe on your server it's different but the Giant fort on Xec has crap for loot. Not only have I not had a forest loop drop but after clearing the entire camp twice I only had 4 or 5 giants drop platinum. the rest just dropped gold or silver. But it is very easy and the exp rocks so who cares about the money anyway?

I took my shammy (55+) to the fort in wars and farmed it. I spent several days totally wiping out the fort over and over and over...and over.
None of these dropped.

Just wanted to let everyone know I have been at the Forest Giant Fort in Warslick Woods for several levels on both my cleric and druid. I have killed probably around 100 of these things -- So far I have seen 2 drop. Just my 2 coppers worth
I don't think these are QUITE so good anymore... considering all the badass earring drops and such from PoP and stuff hehe. just my 2cp, although it seems like a good earring anyway :)

Well i have been hunting Giants from Warslik to FM for about 5 lvls now, three of which have been just in FM at the GF, and still no Forest loop!!! what the hell?? i suspected rogues fer awhile, but i am the only one there most the time, FV server, and im killing them by the hand full!! really starting to wonder here...

Was at the giant fort last night. Cleared it out about 2 times and what do you know a FOREST LOOP. Keep trying, your bound to get one.

These earrings is very good basic twink gear. you have to spend a lot to get much better and they will stand you in good stead till you can kill the stuff that drops better items. The best part is that you can sell them for almost 300PP to a vendor (and occassionally more to a PC)when you want to upgrade.

i wouldnt call these rare at all, well at least in the frontier moutains, when i was 24-30 i hunted there, saw 4 floops drop an saw another guy a couple more days later (40 rouge soloing) pick up 5 in one day. yeah im not joking, i am 40 an i occasionly go there an slo these beast there pretty comman. are u sure its wis 3? im thinking 4
What part of the zone did you solo these guys. I've now killed around 50 tumps and hillocks in Frontier Mountains, and have yet to see one.

If you, like me are too lazy to make a mule and put him in the bazaar, or just don't have the time, you can sell these to vendors for a good price. I sold 2 to a vendor at 260pp each. With a lvl 51 chanter charisma buff I got 290 for one. The amount of time saved is well worth the 40pp you dont get from PCs.
You must mean 285pp. THE MAX you can merchant sell these for, 255 cha, ally faction, is 285pp.

I was in a grp fighten in Frontier Mountins were I've seem 5 of them drop,but no were else. I think they drop more in frontier mountains then anywere else that I've been . After the last one for our grp dropped another rogue in the grp won the random so i bought it off him for 75pp.What a deal considering the price you guys say on these suckers. Hope some of the stuff other than the story helped some of you in getting your floop ,g'luck:)

Well i have been hunting the giants for about 5 playing days. first 4 days not one loop. one night i was group with a 26 wiz got one we did a random i lost then an hour later we got another one. so i sold it for 200 plat. saw another one later that night i lost the random. well they do drop i have seen three now.

I was taking on a forest giant sapling at level 18 and was about to die when i gave him a nice crit for 47 damage. I saw he had an earring so i looted it. It had nice stats on it but i didnt care much. I went to a local vendor and did the unthinkable at the time... I PRESSED SELL!! I felt soo stupid after doing that when i noted the pc on it was 400pp and i only go 200 back.
Well at least i learned my lesson now!
P.s. If u go into the fortress talishan, go in the the left of the bridge and look at the female iksar's goods ( merchant ) u will see MY forest loop if its still there. and merchants there sell it for 1k so i doubt its not been boughtOnly on vallon zek in cabilis east.

i know every1 says ohhh ahhh i got 3 in 1 night or 2 in 30 min ill tell you why from my experience in FM (not sure if true about other zones) everything spawns in groups exe fighting for an hour and no loot then 3 giants with leggchopers spawn in 20 min same with loops i dint see one for a week then my grp gets 3 in one night within 45 min. (lost every roll btw) and remember to take into account that u do hav to roll and u could get 3 loops in ur grp and end up with nothing just a FYI since i been hunting there from 23-33

Hi there. Was in FM when 2 of these babies dropped in same day. I won roll for both and was very happy. I would say these aren't as rare as people say. Very Nice upgrade to my earrings.

Well I leveled in FM for about 3 levels and only once did a floop drop. I won the role and got the floop :-). Yesterday I decided to go get a couple more, and within fifteen minutes my guildmate and I got 2 floops. Luck or not I was happy, :-).

The first day i came to FM killing giants i got a loop,a weighted axe,2 lumberjack's cap,a leg chopper,a giant foreman's tunic,a hammer of flattening,a grubdigger,and i think a giant tree flayer.i think i was just lucky.

Old message, but I thought I'd add in a little bit here.
If you are concerned with WIS for trade skills, there is no need to be. Your trade skills (including research) will work off of EITHER wis or int, whichever is higher. I have read some debate over the fact that only wis deals with success rate, but this has not been proven to me (nor have I seen any improvment when swapping out items for wis while doing my own skills).
The other stats on this...AC Dex and Agi may make it decent if you have the slot open, however there are many many many better items geared toward int casters that take up this slot. (Chanters...golden ear stud and opalline earring are decent around this level...though I'm not certain on how to obtain either...)
Also...charming these and having other mobs kill them makes the body disappear...therefore no loot, just like when your pet dies....
But seeing as how this post is old...and chance are no one will read this I will go now...

All tradeskills use either Intelligence or Wisdom, whichever is higher. There are some that have a third however. Smithing uses Strength if it's the higher than the other two, and Fletching can use Dexterity if it's the highest. If there are any other variations I'm not sure of them.

I was in a group in FM and another dropped, I lost the roll :^(. Twenty Minutes later another one dropped and I won it. That makes three that I've found in 5 levels at FM.

I just got 3 of these things in 25 minutes in Warsilks with my SK (Asaku). I asked what the PC was and people said 400-600 and i asked if they were rare. they said yeah every 6 hours or so...i guess i was lucky

I was level 26 when I joined my first giant group. No Forrest Loop dropped until I was 1 blue from 29. When one finally dropped, I rolled the highest and got the loop. It took about 15 hours to see one, so I was thrilled. I levelled and went to EC to auction/price check. Price check came in at 300pp, but the highest offer was 250pp. With the new level came new spells, so I decided to get a charisma buff, and sell it to a vendor for 285 platinum.
