KILL DARK ELF VERSIONS
# Nov 17 2004 at 3:29 PM Rating: Decent
Anyone coming to this page, please note that you really do need to kill the DARK ELF versions of the storage worker and shady treasure sorter. I spent about 4 hours last night killing the other ones (halfling or something) and the emblems never dropped. Reading all of the other posting history, it seems clear that only the Dark Elf versions of these mobs will drop the emblems.

Going back today to try this new strategy, will post with results.

Man, I spent another two days here, got another one off the Shady Treasure Sorter (Dark Elf), but still none off the storage workers.

Meanwhile I'm now almost level 50! Point being, I get Superior Healing in 1 more level. This quest is almost pointless unless you head to Dulak at a lower level and have the spell waiting for you when you can use it.

Ok, so I went back to dulak and spent about 4 more hours there. I finally got one of the emblems to drop on a Dark Elf Shady Treasure Sorter.

Killed a bunch of storage workers but still no drop on that one. Damn rare drops!

I'd say the drop rate is about 1 in 25? But remember, they only drop on the Dark Elf versions, and finding 25 dark elf shady treasure sorters and 25 dark elf storage workers will take you some time. But don't give up, they do indeed drop!

And in the meantime, I've gone from 46 to 48!

Was on my ranger and the emblem dropped... I looted it without a moments worry because it said RNG on it, and like all the other LOY quest things the class that can use it is listed on the item. Thank god no druids were in the zone or I'd be pissed.

while ae kiting in here with my bard for a while(my bard is lvl 61 druid is now 50) i looted 3 of one type and finally got the other to drop.. the wharehouse i have seen em drop in the most is when heading to the dando dock with your back facing the dando dock that one big wharehouse directly in front of you is where most of my drops came from... now keep in mind i am using my bard to aoe kite and pulling from 10-40 mobs(taking about 10 minutes to kill all the mobs i pull) at once usually grab that wharehouse when i pull the whole dando if noone is campin the spot with me.. and the drop rate is 1-3 a night... hope this helps a little

I was never able to find one of those drops either, although I have killed 50-60 of the mobs supposed to carry them. I think I just dont know what wharehouse to hunt for them in.

Why are the golden emblems tagged for RNG when they are for the DRU spell quest? I looted both mine finally tonight and that kinda made me worry. Gonna turn them in and see what happens, I'm sure everything will turn out fine. Let ya know...

The reason it is no drop is so people have to buy LoY, no other reason :)EOS :)

Yes all of these Quested spells are No-Drop.
So in simple terms No LOY No Spell :(
RE: is this spell no drop???
# Sep 02 2003 at 2:09 PM Rating: Decent
Would be much better if they were droppable, but have a LOY tag. You can buy, but you can't use. That would bug me almost enough to upgrade, having sit in my inventory non-memable.

The reason they did this is simple, clear and proper. Too many people farm items they can't use, just so they can sell them for insane prices to the ones that need them. This happens with everything. Think about it ... druids can't get camps because some necro/shaman/magician/whatever is farming there to get the drops for a spell that they can sell in the Bazaar. Druids can't get the camps, and have to pay ... which sucks. This way it works out best for everyone.

Yeah....I have NEVER been in Rathe Mountain and seen a Druid quad or even quint a bunch of hill giants. They just wouldn't do such a thing.

Smiley: lol

As a shaman, Im more likely to run into the druid camping what I need. Most shamans, are in groups not out soloing as this is when we're at our best, as buffers and slowers, our DoTs help, but are NO WHERE near a druids or necros, and DDs.... dont make me laugh. I see clerics that can out do my BEST DD at lvl 53. I normaly dont rag on ppl, but this one was too far out in left feild

Sorry friend, but some of us have some integrity in our play rules. No one enforces them on us, but we still respect other players. I am a level 66 druid main, and I do quad giants in Rathe when I need a little plat, but only when I have no other players to contend with. In addition, when I see a serious group at work, I stop and buff them, heal if they look like they need it, or port guys out when they are too heavy with loot to walk. As a player, I remember too well the greedy idiots that hogged the giants, or hogged the crag spiders, or otherwise made pains out of themselves in a million different ways. And most of the time, people send you a tell thanking you. Consideration is not as rare as you would like us to believe.

How do you get to Gunthak?

From which zone...?
RE: Gulf of Gunthak
# May 19 2003 at 12:49 AM Rating: Good
You have to port to stonebrunt mountains, then go down to the ship that is in the water and click on the double doors. When you do that, it will zone you to gulf of gunthak.

Confirmed symbols only drop off the dark elf race versions of "a storage worker" or "a shady treasure sorter".
emblems
# May 11 2003 at 1:54 AM Rating: Decent
i finished this quest last night, been working on it for 2 days straight. both of the emblems i got were dropped from dark elfs, the other races of storage workers and treasure sorters never dropped it. when you zone in from gunthak go up the alley with the broken skull scouts. ahead of you on the right side of the courtyard are 2 big warehouses. the 2nd warehouse has the shady treasure sorter standing outside of it. i got my emblem from him, the first one i killed. that warehouse has the treasure sorters and storage workers in it. follow the outside wall of that warehouse to the other end and there is another warehouse that has the storage workers and treasure sorters, the entrance to this warehouse faces the docks. this warehouse is where i got the storage worker to drop the emblem. just get about 2 or 3 people to group with and pull mobs from the warehouse to the dock. pull wandering mobs first so they are not in the way. i had a 52 bst and a 44 pally helping me. sometimes just the bst. we never had any problems. about the 5th or 6th DE storage worker dropped the emblem. i also got a 2nd emblem from another treasure sorter here also, so either warehouse building that has the storage workers and treasure sorters would drop the emblems. just keep clearing out the non DE ones to get DE ones to pop and u will get it eventually

Great Spell
# May 08 2003 at 2:43 PM Rating: Decent
Level 44 Heal much better than Greater Healing and with a Book of Obulus or any other improved healing II item it will heal for up to 505HP...Getting the Symbols was a fairly long process...It is corredt they drop off Shady Treasure Sorter and Storage Worker and in both cases it only dropped off Dark Elfs...I have kill hundreds of each seen several symbols from each and in every case it was a Dark Elf that dropped it, also in all my kills have yet to see one fall off anything but a Dark Elf...

Best Pull Site
# Mar 20 2003 at 4:34 PM Rating: Excellent
As noted in these posts, there are three locations for the Storage Worker and Shady Treasure Sorter. The single best spot to get the components for the spell, however is as follows:

Position yourself at the edge of the dock that leads to the 3rd ship (the one near the ship yards--after zone in go left and its the first dock)

Look straight accross the courtyard to a big warehouse looking building. Thats your target. Watch out for the roaming guardians and mercenaries, but the area between you and the building stays clear otherwise and is safe to uninvis in.

There is one Shady Treasure Sorter outside the door. Pull toward dock and kill. Just inside the door to the building are usually two Storage Attendants. Harmony if need be and kill them at the dock too.

At this point you should be able to enter the building. Follow the left wall to the far corner where you will see a platform. From this platform you can see the whole inside of the building for pops.

Now that you are at the platform there are likely at least 3 mobs still up. Two workers and a sorter. Take them when ready, sit back and kill the spawns.

I killed 10 sorters and 15 workers to get the medallions. Same named "golden emblem" but need one from each. Happy hunting.
RE: Best Pull Site
# May 11 2004 at 11:48 PM Rating: Decent
I can confirm that this building is the better one (well was for me). I spent 2 hours in the warehouse closer to Gunthak zone and got no drops. Moved to this building and had both emblems drop by clearing the building twice.
Increase or Heals?

Does it add 455 health or heal you buy 455 health?

RE: Increase or Heals?
# Mar 18 2003 at 2:14 AM Rating: Good
It heals. If it increased your HP pool it would say "Increase Max HPs", and this spell would be more powerful than the lvl 57 Shaman HP buff, Talisman of Kragg.

Head to the dock area in Dulak Harbor and pull to the dock to avoid adds

Storage workers and Shady treasure sorters drop
"A golden emblem".

After collecting 2 of these (looks like both mobs drop same goldem emblems) Return 2 of these to Nolwik Barquin near Bank/Tower in Guthank for the spell. The spell Effect is really nice.

Do not confuse the emblems with the medalions of service
FIRST DROP
# Feb 28 2003 at 12:32 AM Rating: Decent

RE: FIRST DROP
# Mar 01 2003 at 7:54 PM Rating: Decent
Found this off of eqdruids.com:

The entrance to the dock seems to be a safe area from wanderers, I suggest pulling to that area.

The Attendants drop the Symbol of Tunare. The Sorters drop the Symbol of Karana

The Symbols will be a magic no drop ranger only golden emblem. One will drop from each npc.

They are multi-questable (at this time) so if you get extras hold on to them.

Return the two symbols to Nolwik and receive:

Healing Water

From what I have read, The quest givers only speak to the class that can use the spell. You have to hail them before turning in and the spells are no drop.

I have not explored the new zones myself but after talking to the NPC I believe gives the quest for Healing Water all he talk about is how he was in Inothule swamp and got jumped by a troll who now has his emblems. I am assuming I need to find 2 embelms of some sort but not sure even where to look. He never mentions anything about Gunthak so I ran around Inothule looking for any NPC on track that sounded out of the ordinary. Of course nothing came up on track except troll raiders and a fallen troll. Quest probably wouldn't be that easy though.
Why so much trouble for a level 44 spell...
# Feb 26 2003 at 4:45 AM Rating: Decent
Anyone else think these quest's seem impossible?

The npc's in Gunthak are so vague, I can't even get any informatin out of most of them. Or else most wont even talk to me after the first set of [words in brackets]. I bet it's gonna take a pretty long time just to get a level 44 spell...I know they want us to explore and it makes it more interesting but when it's impossible to get more than 2 words out of these NPC's you tend to give up...
RE: Why so much trouble for a level 44 spell...

NPCs only talk to the class of the spells they have, so the person with this spell will only talk to druids about how to get it

i know, even that was confusing at first but wasn't too hard to figure out...but when you finally find the corresponding NPC, still very very vague

# Feb 25 2003 at 11:04 AM Rating: Good
This spell is the same as the Chloroblast spell we get at level 55 minus the short cast time, 25 mana u save and 3 points difference in healing power. It's a nice filler for the 40s druid but why get chloroblast at 55 if you have this already? Make Chloroblast an AoE heal spell I say to make up for the 11 levels it takes to get it.
RE: Same Diff...
# Feb 26 2003 at 10:15 AM Rating: Default
SHHHHH!!! Don't tell them! lol they'll nerf the uber hell out of Healing Water instead of making Chloroblast better in order to fix it! Just give it time, and someone will notice and do the oposite, but if you point it out to them, it's nerfed for sure! lol
