Right now on the Rathe in the bazaar...

Nightmarewood compound bow = 3900pp - 8000pp

Obsidianwood compound bow = 160000pp - 190000pp

and finally...

Stonewood Compound bow = 250000pp

IMO.. Iam glad to see Bows are similar to Harley's.. they go up in price with age...lol

I dont get why This bow has Int on it when its known that the class that is gonna use the bow the most for damage and such and get the most usefulness out of it is the Ranger, a wis based caster.

Heh, I do have to agree with you on that one. This bow is perfectly made for my shadowknight, sad it will only serve as a means to pull.
RE: Int
# Jul 30 2003 at 7:25 AM Rating: Default
Hehe...please don't tell me you'll spend some 80-120k on a bow for PULLING...

buy a bow with a higher range for...4k and spend the rest on other equipment...

Ther might not spend it on somthing without any stants and solely for pulling, but this has aura of battle and 100hp, that's great for a range item, might still not be worth the 90k I see then for on E'ci but once you've filled up all your other slots you have to put somthing in range, and if you have the money....
RECIPE and DROPS
# May 03 2003 at 6:55 AM Rating: Decent
This bow is crafted by players - the trivial is beyond 250 - so one should have at least 250 and trophy to even attempt this bow considering the inability of most to acquire parts. All parts drop in PoE - so unless you have a pretty decent guild to get to the elemental planes you best save up that plat for those that can make them (*hint*) AilenMacciavelli - 250 fletcher with trophy or buy the parts and have someone you know make it for you. (*hint*) AilenMacciavelli - 250 fletcher with trophy.

(1) Petrified Arborean Bowstaff (Stonewood Bow Staff - drops off the trees in PoE - not very common
(2) planar steel cams - first a brick of immaculate steel (PoE)needs to be smithed with a file and a cam parts mold to acquire the cam parts - planar steel gear and planar steel bolt - then a tinkerer combines these both with a jar of clockwork grease to obtain one cam
(1) vegerog vine/fiber string - combine (2) vegerog vines and a clump of wax in planar sewing kit
(1) planing tool

All combined in a planar fletching kit to give you the bow.

The staff is in fact Stonewood Bow Staff - at the time of my post I was under the impression that they were the same item only with 2 different names - but the correct item is Stonewood Bow Staff

Are you sure about the bow staff that is used to make this? If you are correct what is the Stonewood Bow Staff used to make?
RE: RECIPE and DROPS
# Jul 07 2003 at 12:13 AM Rating: Decent
You are correct on it being the Stonewood Bow Staff - at the time I posted I was under the impression that Petrified Arborean was the same item but a different name for it - it is in fact Stonewood Bow Staff

While 250 plus trophy is nice, all you really need is 240 + geerlok.

The max hardcapped skill level is 252 modified skill. 240*.05 = 12 (effect of geerlok)

240+12=252

Also, Note that trophy and geerlok DON'T Stack, so really all the trophy does is let you keep your skill mod item in range slot, and not have to swap in steins when you buy/sell.

So basically 240 fletcher+geerlok = 250+trophy, as far as chance of success goes.

I'm not saying you're wrong, but how did you come by this information? Did Sony at one time publish the hard caps? Or is this player researched somehow? I've also seen long time players post that the two items DO stack and that there is no skill cap.

I would tend to believe that Sony removed that cap when it removed the stat caps so that trophies and geerlock tools would be useful and not a complete waste of effort.

Personally I love the look and damage of this fine bow. I know the "uber" guild on our server is passing the items to their guild fletcher, a monk of all people (/giggles)

PC on Drinal is about 200k atm, but there have not been too many crafted. Send tells to CiH ... I know it is on my christmas list for droppable items. Perhaps the price will drop off by then

#REDACTED, Posted: Feb 21 2003 at 6:16 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) wow... if the uber guilds on the servers can start pharming the stuff needed from poe, they could make major buck off these. I want one... still a tier away though ehhe

Most "uber" guilds wont let you sell the stuff you get from the guild raids, most of the time they just have them relotto'd.
RE: wow
# Feb 24 2003 at 12:50 PM Rating: Default
This does not come from a raid. This is crafted with fletching.

RE: wow

Check it out:

http://www.afterlifeguild.org/?page=dkp

Even though it is dkp, it is still a lotto. Look at the "After an item is won" section. They specifically state what Dutcherboy was talking about.

They do lotto, in their own special way.
RE: wow
# Mar 22 2003 at 1:18 PM Rating: Excellent
That is not the only way to do DKP. Guilds such as mine (NoV, top guild on Fennin Ro) do DKP on a pure buy sell system, person with the highest DKP and over 20% raid attendence (30 Day) wins the item.

The problem with some DKP is where the items don't take as many points out of the system as they put in. Think of this formula:

(Mob DKP * Players in Raid) = (Value of all drops)

If this formula is not kept balenced then the new members are at a severe disadvantage because the active people with always have more points.

One of the smartest things I think someone has said here.

Yes, DKP is tedious to keep in line. You must make sure that every DKP awarded or spent has it's equal counterpart. If not, you get A) A bunch of folks with basically no DKP or B) A bunch of folks with way way too many DKP

Of course it's hard to keep things in line. You can't predict exactly how many DKP will be spent on a raid because the loot will not always be the same, or the loot dropped isn't worth the value of the target (IE good loot for high DKP on a low DKP easy mob or low DKP bad loot on a high DKP tough mob). Most guilds base DKP on the potential loot a mob might drop, so that elimnates that facet.

Of course, you still can't predict how much DKP worth of loot a particular mob might drop (Tunare might drop good loot or very crappy loot as an example; her table varies from mediocre to outstanding (for velious anyway)). I hear some system are created such that the DKP awarded for attending kills directly dictates the prices of the items as they are dropped; IE you can't make sure how much anitem will cost you have to figure out how many people showed up and were awarded DKP so you balance it. Otherwise keeping DKP balanced dynamically but not in 'real-time' is a major headache.
