Says Tradeskill Item?

I'm a bit confused since it states that it's a tradeskill item... Yet there is no recipe listed using them. Anybody have more information on this? Or is it listed as so (by right clicking on the item itself) because of the "Boot-Material Non-Tradeskill" thing itself?

This is used in research to make a Study Rune. Guess that's a tradeskill now? Don't ask, still haven't found a use for the runes yet.

All items which are used in quest COMBINES are actually listed as being used in tradeskills; as with the Green Blood Knight's quest above, you are given a quest container to combine the items in. Items which are turned in to an NPC for a quest reward will not have the tradeskill tag on them.

Looked these up myself as I've had a stack of the things on sale in the bazaar for ages - long and short of it, at the moment they're useless for selling, just get rid of them.

These also drop from the vampire bats on the island in Erud's crossing. I've seen as many as 6 drop from a single bat there and are extremely common.

Good post. Saved me a ton of time hunting for this item. They do drop from 1-6 at a time. Respawn time is fast. Just kill spiders and snakes around the edge of the crater to keep them spawning. Took me about 20 min to get 42 giant bat wings.

Thanks Janewton for your post.

These also drop off the Giant Bats in Butcherblock Mountains. The bats inhabit the area not far from the Greater Faydark entrance. I hunted over a stack of them, then sold to merchant after finding out they did not work in the Fish Rolls recipe, only Bat Wings. Well, there should be Giant Fish Rolls too. For the bigger races.
