I couldn't sell it to a vender, so as far as I can see it is trash. No recipies that I have found.
Could this be the same as a Fresh Chunk of Wooly Rhino that has the same stats, but is medium size?

No, they aren't the same...the 'Fresh Chunk' is for a quest for a NO DROP so-so stats necklace pure casters, druids and shammys can wear. Getting the fresh chunk and other ingredients doesn't seem to be worth it to me but to each their own...

Good point, this item is prolly throw in as a distractor. Someone could loot without looking close, go to do turn in only to be disappointed.
