Since when is there a minimum skill needed for this combine?

I tried at 205 and it said I wasnt experienced enough in this craft to combine successfully.

Didnt fail. just wouldnt combine in Tanaan Loom
bleach it

just purchaced the pieces to make this robe spent a little over 36k and well worth every copper. i had a guildy do the combine. it is dirt brown, surprize, but i bleached mine which made the robe white and the pattern on the robe light grey. the design on it... flames comming up from the bottom of the robe on a high elf. real simmilar in color to the NPC's robes in the PoT library.

Hmm....
This has irked me for some time, happy to see it come up...

How do you bleach an item? If I dye it white I just get the original color, somewhat faded.

Any tips?

dye it to 254, 254, 254. if you want to dye something back to its original color, you use 255, 255, 255. clicking on the white box on the dye screen should set it automatically to 254, 254, 254 ... sometimes you have to unequip and requip the item to get it to show up the correct color after dying it back.

According to Lucy, robe is plain brown when worn. Basicly, get any robe your guild master hands you at level 1 and dye it brown and that's what you get. Kinda sad it isn't fancier, but fits what I'd expect out of Earth - Dirt brown and not very decorative.
Nice robe..

Does anyone know what this robe looks like? I'm thinking of trying to find one for my Enchanter, but I want to know what it looks like before I spend a bunch of plat on it.

This robe is brown on a DE with new models on, but the rest of Tricster's description is correct.

Who freakin cares? For 120 hps I'll spend another 50p and dye it black if I don't like the looks.

Pretty cool looking actually. It is white with a little bit of grey trim. It has an open, Deep V front held together at the top by a chain.
just a thought

Anyone but me consider that the 4 robes sound awfully close to the 4 pieces for the magician epic? just a thought perhaps mage epic 2 ( if such a thing ever comes to pass ) would need the 4 robes.

The elemental silk armors have awesome stats...for low lvl characters. That is exactly who most of this stuff will go to, dropable and no required or recommended lvls. Ubers' will twink their alt casters with this stuff for dragon raids and the like. Course some of these armor pieces blow Thurg and SS stuff out of the water. For now they are rare novelties. Once the elemental planes are farmed, sad day indeed, then these will become more prevalent. These pieces would easily fetch 10-15k on Veeshan, as screwed up our server is economy-wise.

I don't foresee any of that. I foresee a lot of people whining because it will have a required level of ~53 and recommended level of around 60. All of the player made items I've seen from PoP have had levels placed on them and I wouldn't think that SoE would change it just for these robes.
yes

the drop items you need come from tier 3 planes on all the stuff in todays update and the risk vs reward on them is way off.

anyone that can get the parts for this already has much better. the only thing i can see as a benifit is if you get all 4 robes and there is another quest to make them into a super robe or something . otherwise you wont see many of these or the air or fire versions. even if the robe has 150 mana with the other stats being what they are it wont be an upgrade for most of those capable getting it

IMO

True but they ARE tradable and not too shabby for mid range power-casters. I think these will sell for a pretty penny whenever the planes become a farmer's land in the upcoming future.

so far the data shows its simply a crafted robe, thats tradeable with no rec level or no drop tag. I doubt thats really the case, but if it is, its a ok cash item for the trade skillers in your guild.
#REDACTED, Posted: Jan 08 2003 at 12:28 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) This robe sucks...
#REDACTED, Posted: Jan 08 2003 at 12:40 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Why because of the stats or the fact that you have to be in tier 4 to even be able to dream about getting the ingredients?...Tier 4 drops means this is skill up stuff or bazaar trash, if you can make this you dont need it. Thanks SoE (it's about time people blame the people who ARE running the game now
