Boy was I surprised when I logged on after patch and went to kite, finding that my drum no longer glows. =( Thats the only reason I kept this drum cuz I liked the graphics on it, now I guess its time to upgrade my drum. LOL
i got this for my bard makes kiting single mobs so much easier because all my current single target dots are precussion so with this drum i can runn really fast and my dots do more damage plus i can weild a weapon in secondary so if i need to kill off some annoying greenies without having to equip weapon and what not, very usefull drum
please reply if you can get me this drum i am willing to trade/sell a bloodguard soul ring for this and a bloodstained flute plz reply or email me at DarkWebSpinner@yahoo.com
WOOT Bought one on Torvonnilous for 5k last night I have been seeing them go for 9k and above. I got lucky. One time I saw one go for 3k but was broke hehe.

Ok, I play on Drinal. I remember when I was about lvl 10 or so with my mage, saw these for about 200k, sh*t my pants basically *cough* Uhm.. then about 2 months ago it was about 20-30k.. now I see them for 2.5k.. MAJOR PRICE DROP. Btw, price war going on as we speak and only reason I'd say the price dropped is because.. PoV/PoS Raids every day for BoT access, then you as soon as they get the stupid keys, they run and get a grp and try and to take out the mobs to drop this..still one of the coolest drums IMO and worth about 15k
You don't need a key for BoT anymore. That's why they, and everything else that drops in the zone commonly, is so cheap now. Every idiot and their friends can run in and kill what they want. It's why the zone has 100+ people in it at all times just about. :(
Reason why these drums are exspensive on SZ is due to the fact that we are on a PvP server, Not the fact that Bard's are "The Ub3rest PK class ever, but due to the fact that if you are exping/farming/aa'ing in the planes, your going to get trained minimum once an hour.
So think about it, you have you nice exp group going on. Suddenly a SK/monk/bard runs up to your group with a train and FD's (necro's dont train since they have the hp's of a gnat) and suddenly your group's 1 giant has 15 buddies helping him. So that means that on blue servers drums drop every 3-5 hours non stop. On SZ on of the lowest pop. server's, even w/o the constant trains you see them once every 1-2 days, maybe?
This is a bard best droppable weapon. Blue server's means your free to camp items but on the Zek's its a different world and on a Zek you want the best wepons available to you.
Your post is not untrue, but you cannot discount the fact that bards are FAR more common on PvP servers than regular ones, due to their power in that environment. More bards=more demand=higher price.

not sure how long you've been on Sullon but all drums are very expensive there. Basically bards are kings(or queens...or...both) of pvp, the better the drum the better they are, and since drums affect selo's (run speed for the uneducated) dots and resist songs they're one of, if not the most important instruments to own. /me prepares for flames
I get the full bonus, and half of the stats (still great stats at my level). My chant does 30 dmg and Selo's is satisfyingly fast -- I'm going to have to mount a bug-shield on my helm :-)
The 2.8 modifier is not effected by level, I can confirm first hand. The stats are very much lessened, but on my 29 bard the modifier stands. I've tried swapping my old Walrus Skin Drum and my TDoK while running with Selos and the speed difference is VERY noticeable. Once I get to 30 I'll test the dmg with Fulfil's.
I saw them in the bazaar for 4500p the other day and couldn't resist (everyone else had them for 10k+)
I swear I hit that button only once. When you goto the price listing it looks like I submitted the price 20 times. Maybe it is broken, I am not sure. All I know is that I sold my drum for 15k. Average price on Rathe is 15-20k atm.
Now the Submit message button doesn't work either. When I hit submit I get sent a perl script that does the form processing and it just sticks there. Then I go back and try to reload the page but don't find the message that I posted. Finially I got it to show when I hit back several times and click on the link to the page.

In my opinion, this is the best thing to happen to us not so uber bards in a while! Great modifier, great stats, great look and dirt cheap! I remember when DoTB where 20k, now TDoK are only 5! Thank you sony for making all us bards very very happy. Something gives me a feeling though that they either gonna change drop rate, or put a required level on it. Its just too awesome...
my bard has Selo's drums and does 69 dmg per tick with tyuven's(sp) chants.. (flame, cold, posion, disease) and 49dmg with fuiffil's(sp). was wondering how much I would do with these drums? anyone know?

Won this today in BoT, along with about 6 other people. The market is flooded with them and they're becoming VERY hard to sell. Was down to 18k when I left Bazaar.
All the instruments I have had that are listed as PRIMARY SECONDARY, and I don't own this drum but I would guess it is the same, are equippable either:
a) in offhand by itself with nothing able to be equipped, similiar to normal old world instruments or how a 2h weapon equipped mainhand doesn't let you hold an offhand item.
or
b) equipped mainhand allowing you to carry a weapon (or shield or anything besides an instrument) in the offhand.
For this drum that means you either hold it like a normal drum offhand with nothing equipped or you hold it like drums of the beast mainhand with an offhand item (weapon.)
The reason I know about this is because my wind instrument of choice is an ivory horn which is also primary secondary and allows me to get invisibility up by only having to switch my mainhand weapon out.
Also FYI instrument mods don't stack so if you had 2 percussion instruments equipped you would get the modifier of the better of the two not a multiplication of both mods.
I do have a TDoK, and you are correct in your assessment of what can and cannot be equipped with it. It's a shame too, as I'd love to be able to wield a flute in the off-hand for handy invis songs when charm kiting.
Sadly, instrument juggling remains an important part of playing an efficient bard, at least in the mid-level game before getting the bard epic or some of the equippable armor pieces with instrument mods (like the Tear Shaped Ring).

It's been pretty well established on TCH that the named mobs in the sand wing and probably most others share loot tables to some extent.
There are reports of the drums dropping from Thangbrand, Valbrand, Rorek Steelthorn AND <firstnamehere> Sutherland.
So pretty much any named in the sand/earth wing could drop these. So just keep killing Kriger PHs and eventually you may get lucky and get something besides fungus clumps.
It says these are equipable in primary or secondary... does that mean you can hold them in secondary and a weapon in primary (as opposed to drums of the beast, which are primary only, thus forcing you to use weapon in off hand)
Gonna depend on your server, but I would say you could take the price of Drums of the Beast, and double or triple it. Correct me if I am wrong, but these are the best (mod-wise) drums in the game, so really you could charge whatever you want. I would say start out in the 200k range, and see how many bites you get.
These are the best DROPPABLE drums in the game... War Drums of Rathe far exceed these with a 3.4 mod.
I don't know what DotB go for on your servers, but on BB the average price is 25-35k.
I saw these for sale on BB for 60k... wish I had the cash at the time.
The .2 mod it has over the DotB didn't make all too much of a difference... At lvl 50 the chants (minus fufils curtailing) do 26 dmg per tick. With DotB thats 67.6 dmg per tic and with these its only 5 more, 72.8 damage per tic. A nice novelty in terms of functionality, yet I'd rather have these drums for the STATS while kiting!
All in all, if you are going to spend the money you will be better off buying DotB, and hoping to get these off a drop in BoT rather than buying them. Also the effect of EB can be clicked at lvl 1 from DotB... I can't begin to tell you how great these drums are for raid type water or airless encounters.
Either way, these are really nice drums... I was lucky to have the chance to try them out! Gotta love uber guildies!
One: 2.8 mod = yes, best mod in the game for a widely used type of instrument
Two: Its not so much better that anyone in their right mind, unless its a twink, or they have some obscene amount of money to blow, would buy this for 200k.
Three: If anyone other than a bard got this if they were in group, I'd simply cry. or something. Greed is so stupid over giving something to someone they could use for the rest of their eq career.
These don't look like drums - it looks like a purple glowing orb, with particles coming out of it. It's the same as the rogue grandmaster poison trophy effect, except purple and with bigger particles.
Odds are that the recommended level will only affect the stats, but it might affect the modifier too. I doubt it.
However, though this drum is tradeable, I think it will get into the hands of very few sub-recommended-level bards for quite some time. BoT is not a very crowded zone on my server; I just got in, and as yet, 15 players (counting the group I got to go in there) during peak hours...
Let's say, as an example, a percussion-based song gives you 50 Magic Resist while singing (using no drum at all). If you use a drum with a modifier of 2.8, then it would give 50 x 2.8 = 140 Magic Resist.
I don't know why Alla lists them as percentage modifiers, it's much easier to explain by using multipliers... oh well.
