I dont post much but I saw this nifty little item in the bazaar. Thought I'd check it out on allak. Decided to test whether or not it stacks with SCR. Im guessing it does because my buffs have gone up significantly. Maybe you guys who disagree will have something to flame me about

nm i just checked AA's of my shaman and see what SCR is, AA's with the same effects of focus effects do stack because aa is not focus its innate.

66+ spells too?
# Oct 15 2004 at 11:19 AM Rating: Decent
Does this item effect 66+ spells in anyway? I know my Totem reduces the cast time of 66+ spells but to a lesser degree.
RE: 66+ spells too?
# Feb 07 2005 at 9:37 AM Rating: Decent
Yes it will affect spells up to level 70, it just loses 10% per level. So a 66 spell would be 13.5% and 67 would be 12% etc... Wearing a tactician's shield until I can finish my 1.5. But I have no Ext. Enhancement, might be worth getting for that. Have a 52 shammy that would be nice for too.
RE: 66+ spells too?
# Mar 11 2005 at 12:44 PM Rating: Decent
Dont think this is correct. Only effects spells up to 65. Ext enhancement V is up to 70
RE: 66+ spells too?
# Apr 11 2005 at 7:14 PM Rating: Decent
Read the post above this. That person is 100% correct. It loses 10% per level over cap, meaning 10% of 15, so therefore it loses 1.5% per spell above 65. So therefore, a level 70 spell will be 7.5% ext if you were to equip this prior to casting.
very useful

Bought this and I switch it on whenever I buff. Really helps with downtime and everything because it's the little things that make it a really big thing

Anyone know if this and the Extended Blessing IV aug for N Ro Adv's stack?

My main has made this.. her pottery is 200 .. but it was pure luck.. as with many things she has made that are way over her head.. SONY V .. SOMETIMES lets her do that.. and she is crazy enough to try it :)
TRIVIAL 295
# Feb 24 2004 at 6:56 PM Rating: Default
This is trivial at 295 not 250 so make sure you have skill 240 + 5% or you will most likely fail, not that you have a good chance anyway LOL. Great item just uber tough to make.
#scsaturn, Posted: Mar 09 2004 at 8:44 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Think before you speak.. there are many items with a trivial much higher than 250. And this item is one of them. Get a 250 skill, and you will see that you dont get the message that you can no longer advance your skills with this item on an attempt. Another that comes to mind is Misty Thicket Picnics, which is reported to have a trivial of around 335, and Hobgoblin Surprise around 300.

I don't follow your post. The guy above you says "trivial is 295"

You say "Think before you speak.. there are many items with a trivial much higher than 250"

So what exactly are you accusing him of not thinking about? Everything you said AGREES with him.

His advice is solid, and the 295 trivial is correct, so what exactly is the problem?
RE: TRIVIAL 295

240 skill +5% mod = 262, Hard cap is 252, meaning actually, you will have a better chance of succeeding than making it at 250 skill with no mod, 250 with mod will be exactly the same however. Since the addition of teh Tradeskill UI (which most of these posts pre-date) we have found many of these trivials are accurate, and yes, the hard cap on tradeskill is 252, even if you are at 250and have a 15% modifier for said skill.
summoners boon

If you are, were, or want to be a beast lord check this out,... put the Summoners Boon aug that you buy from NRo LDoN on this shield... it will increase the size, stats, AND buff duration of your warder, should work with other classes too, but it's just pimp that it's range and adds MUCH needed ac for us leather wearers, just a little hint a friend showed me.

Looks like the graphic, a rather small dull brown shield. My friends druid generally uses Tacticians Bulwark in secondary and this in range.

Skill level to attempt
# Oct 05 2003 at 4:18 AM Rating: Decent
Just tried to attempt to make the unfired portion of the shiled at skill level 156. IT wouldn't allow me to do the combine.

Anyone know what skill level you need to attempt to do the combine, or is it once you are GM'ed?
#REDACTED, Posted: May 07 2003 at 12:30 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) These go for about 25K on my server... while Valorium Rings of gallantry go for about 8K.

I must disagree with your statements. Pottery, while not the hardest of the tradeskills, actually requires you to collect dropped items, or at least get someone to imbue items. to GM.

You can grandmaster JC sitting in one room, nver moving further than to switch targets from the metals merchant to the gemas merchant.

Mind you, jewelcraft isn't CHEAP to GM this way, but it sure as heck isn't hard.

IMO, JC is the EASIEST skill to GM.

Also, note that the fast skillups that pottery USED to give, were nerfed, at least for post 200, in a patch several months ago.

By far the easiest of the trade skills to GM is Brewing. Can get to 248 using Store bought items to make the MHB. EXTREMELY cheap also.
RE: Why are these so expensive?
# Dec 20 2003 at 2:48 PM Rating: Good
JC skills up faster and you never have to run between two merchants. Brewing is cheaper, but JC is faster/easier.

i have to agree with Xaanru, Pottery has been nerfed in regards to ease of getting to 250. Jc is still the easiest.

For the relevency of the item tho, Does anyone know if this effect would stack with the 8th shawl and the aa's extended enhancement?

I'd have to agree with Pottery is a much more difficult skill to GM then JC. I personally GM JC around lvl 40 w/ my enchanter who didn't even have INT capped at 255. Currently w/ 290 INT I've been working with Pottery skill ups post 200 skill and I must say the combine vs skill-up ratio is ungodly aweful compared to my experience JC (keep in mind I had lower INT w/ JC thus in theory should have had a harder time with) not to mention farming for pottery skill ups is either very time consuming or expensive if you gather supplies from /bazaar vendors. As for stacking issues with the 8th shawl Clan asked, no the 8th shawl and Ceramic Shield of Valor do not stack (8th shawl taking precidence as it's 20% ext), however the AAs for extended enhancements do stack and are well worth it imo! I have heard talk about extended enchancement caps, but have yet to find reliable information on whether or not those exist and to what limit. Anyone have some info they'd like to share before I spend my next 8 AAs in class for SCRM for my 20% more ext enchancment? I'd hate finding out I was already capped and couldn't reimbursed for those AAs, would be a waste.

Many thanks in advance

Extended enhancements from AAs cap at 50%.

The ONLY item effect that stacks on a char with full AAs is the effect on 8th shawl, giving a total effect of 70%.

So aa alone=50%
aa + ceramic shield =50% won't stack at that point
aa + shawl = 70%

Sorry, but xaanru is wrong.

SCRM (spell casting reinforcement mastery) _DOES_ stack with focus items. (otherwise it would NOT stack with Blessed Coldain Prayer Shawl)

Which is why you see people saying "extended KEI 65%" and "extended KEI 70%" ... 65 with non-shawls, 70 with the shawls.

Spell casting reinforcement, in the archetype abilities is 30%, at level 3. However, the CLASS ability spell casting reinforcement mastery increases the extension to 50%

See the following site, for description of the class abilities:

Questions

Does this pottery item have to be made in the Tanaan only wheel and kiln? Or will any wheel and kiln do?

Also, what levels have any of you successfully done this combine with?

Thanks
NO INT on this item

They got the wrong stat. The correct stats in full are:

MAGIC
RANGE,SECONDARY
STA+8, WIS+8, AGI+8, HP+25, MANA+25
Required Level 46
Focus Effect: Extended Enhancement IV
WT: 5.5 Size: SMALL
Class: ALL
Race: ALL

I'll take a screen-shot and mail in the correction.
Does not stack with 8th Shawl

Accroding to EQ Trader this effect doesn't stack with the 8TH Blessed Coldain Shawl:
Focus Effect: Zephyr of Brell
1: Increase Spell Duration by 20%

Damn nice shield though if you don't wanna do the Tradeskill quest from HELL! (I have both though)

Would this item stack with AA entended time ability ?

RE: Stacking

It should...the only things focus items dont stack with are other focus items; they usually override the weaker of them.
not bad

though the stats arent the greatest nor not nearly the most "uber" it will be a very nice item to use just for buffing purposes.

With many of the long duration buffs, I think it would be worth the hassle to swap out for buffing purposes.

Granted, my cleric is using a 9 wis, 40 mana shield as it is, so I may be tempted just to leave this equipped at all times.
RE: not bad
# Feb 02 2003 at 1:38 PM Rating: Default
Just got one, this "Shield" isn't actually a shield. Ya can't bash with it in other words. :( Otherwise I'm very happy with it.

With Spell Casting Reinforcement 2 I have 30% extended buffs, not too bad. Will be 45% once I get SCR3

Hmm, since it says it is equipable in the range slot, I think that is where I would put it myself. Hehe, you know, and keep the 20 AC of my shield.
RE: not bad
# Mar 14 2003 at 9:58 AM Rating: Default
Absolutely put this in the range slot....It has nice stats and an extra 15% DURATION ON BUFFS MEAN LESS DOWNTIME...Plus you can still keep that 35 AC shield...:-)
