jesus, this forum is like hell. every 5 or so posts it starts all over. like the last one, starts again with 'like regular invis... will kill pet...' lol. yes thats the point. So much changes. this was before

'/pet get lost' was zone wide.

the reclaim energy has a spell range still

sometimes agro'ed mobs far enough away, NOTH touched by you do simply walk back to spawn/track. Even if not this gives you a chance to make a new pet or run like hell.

I cant believe all the repeat posts on this topic. lol.
RE: sigh
# Nov 21 2004 at 2:32 PM Rating: Decent
this should not kill pet. they made a patch that 1.) lets pets travel zone to zone
2.) if you go invis in anyway, your pet will still be there.

Also, I beleive Reclaim energy has been nerfed, because I heard it from someone and I spend more mana than what I get back.
Potential Use
# Jan 02 2004 at 5:44 AM Rating: Default
This could theoretically be used to break charm on the lvl 65 spell Call of the Arch Mage which lets Magicians charm summoned mobs. Besides that and obviously getting through some area where mostly everything is an animal (Jaggedpine maybe?), there really isn't a lot of use for this now that the /pet go away command has unlimited range.
Elementals Are animals?
# Jan 03 2003 at 1:18 AM Rating: Decent
It says Invis Vs. Animal. I didnt think an elemental pet would be considered an animal? am I wrong in this?
RE: Elementals Are animals?
# Mar 22 2004 at 9:03 AM Rating: Decent
Regardless if it's Invis vs. Animals or anything ... ALL invis will break or destroy a pet (including a sucessful HIDE)
RE: Elementals Are animals?
# Mar 09 2003 at 8:18 PM Rating: Default
This effect is very useful for breaking Charm on a loyal soon-to-be ex-pet. You cast the breaking spell on yourself, which means you don't need to be in range of the pet (a good idea), and without using up a spell slot. Best class for this should be changed to Enchanter.

The best class couldn't be changed to Enc...The boots are Mag only.
RE: Elementals Are animals?
# Jan 14 2003 at 4:14 PM Rating: Decent
All invis (invis versus undead, regular invis, or invis versus animals) breaks charm or banishes your pet. It doesn't matter if the pet is undead or an animal.
mages only?
# Dec 29 2002 at 3:36 AM Rating: Decent
Does anyone know if these can be triggered from inventory? By classes other than mages?
RE: mages only?
# Aug 17 2003 at 7:20 PM Rating: Excellent
It is right clickable from inventory. Usable only by mages.

<pst> when on hate raids, i know for a fact, they dont allow pets, <on tunare that is> unless your an uber mage, that is willing to spend time to learn to kill your pet if it follows a mob off. Rule #1 dont follow the mobs off. It brings large trains back, click your boots, kill the pet and summon a new one, being happy.

You must all be NooBs! Or am I the only pet user who has ever heard of the command /pet back off? Maybe you guys should play more and complain less in these forums. You might learn something

is there a range ins /pet back off? cuz if there is ... your group/raid and u are screwed!
RE: smacks
# Dec 06 2002 at 8:32 AM Rating: Good
This no longer is needed for killing off pets.

They changed the range on /pet get lost, so that it works anywhere in the zone and could be hotkeyed....meaning it would be faster, and wouldn't take up a slot more easily filled with better.
HUH?

I thought that after your pet agroed and you go invis the mob will find you and your group. Guess it doesnt matter anymore tho since pets dont agro.

This is simple. This spell is merely meant to kill the pet. We know that.

Why not use the command or use Reclaim Energy? Because the pet isn't close enough to you. You can use F1 twice to target it but it doesn't help much if he's too far to issue a command, would it?

It's not meant to clear agro. It's meant to kill the pet BEFORE he agroes (and usually train). Once you see the "Taunting Master" (well of course, if you didn't say to pet NOT to taunt, in that case, you'll just never know) and you are in a dungeon, you could as well shout INCOMING TRAIN.

Lots of dungeon, Pet pathing is bad. Pet is lost but hasn't agroed yet. You do this to kill the pet rather than taking the time to mem Invis and cast it.

Yes, if you are lvl 39+, you should previously had made the pet sit/guard spot and then you would summon it. The boots are still good in the event where you forgot to make him sit.

Effect start working at lvl 20.
#Anonymous, Posted: Jun 12 2001 at 7:07 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I am a 47th lvl mage and i know for a fact that if u cast invis on yourself when pet is attacking anything it will come for you and see right thru your invis and come smack on you, so whoever says diff shuld prolly get their mage above lvl 2
#Anonymous, Posted: Jun 04 2001 at 10:50 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) GOOD TACTIC TO USE WHEN PET GETS FEARED TO PREVENT IT FROM DRAWING MORE ADDS. iN A DUNGEN THE BEST WAY TO CLEAR AGGRO FROM WANDERING PET, AND AWAY FROM YOUR GROUP IS TO ZONE. ALSO COMES IN HANDY IF CHANTER MEZZING ADDS AND PET KEEPS AGROING THE MOB.
Invisibility vs Animal??
# Mar 11 2001 at 8:17 PM Rating: Default
This don't make sense to me. Why give us a spell for invisibility vs animal, and we can't use it until level 20? We get regular invisibility at 8, and is whole lot better than invis vs animal. Well, the other stats aren't too bad. See you guys in Norrath. Good luck, and level fast.
RE: Invisibility vs Animal??
# Mar 14 2001 at 3:13 AM Rating: Good
Here's why you get this Invis vs Animals.. Invisibility on this item would be "overpowering" So they put Invis vs Animals on it. Now you may say well that sucks but actually this is one of the BEST and most powerful items a mage can have in his/her ******** You now have an instantly clickable effect that kills your pet even when out of vocal range. If you're in a dungeon for example, and your pet runs off and starts up a train, with a simple click of these boots you remove pet, clear it's aggro and keep your party from dying. If more mages used this tactic then pets would be more welcome in groups. Yet one more item with an ingenious effect that people don't realize so they start complaining about it.

Invis to kill your pet does not clear aggro.
# Mar 30 2001 at 1:32 PM Rating: Default
I have never found going invis to kill my pet would kill any aggro it had generated. But things change so I just tested it.

I just now logged in, left my pet on SIT in a wandering monster area. I backed waaaay off into the distance, but still within visual range. Pet got jumped, by 3 animals. I used this invis animals effect, pet suicided, and all mobs came running from far far away to jump on me.

I had cast no spells on pet at all, and did not assist in any way. The only spell I cast was Invis to animals on myself.

Invis to kill Pet after it has run off and starts up a Train does NOT clear aggro.

You are using the invis to kill the pet when it wonders off in a bad spot. It wont clear any agro.
IT WORKS
# Apr 04 2001 at 7:44 AM Rating: Default
He means when your group is killing a mob and it runs off because it's 3 hits from dead, you get the exp and the pet is still taunting, he's half way across the zone and slowly comming tward you, click your heals he goes away, is you are out of thier following range, which you must be EXTREAMLY far away, the mob will go back to it's spawn point or wander the zone. Now your going to sell, or hjit the bank, you walk by that splitpaw your pet thrashed a bit before you made like Dorthy and it WILL come attack you. You have to be much farther away than visual sight, trust me.

30-31 mage on the nameless, Aparitiuonist (about to hit 31 for the 28th, or is it the 29th time?)

# Apr 29 2001 at 8:17 PM Rating: Default
i dont understand why you just dont use focus items? they cast reclaim energy which kills your pet plus you dont have to wear these crappy boots. unless of course these are the best boots you have at which time it makes perfect sense to use the above tactic as opposed to just using focus items.
RE: IT WORKS
# May 11 2001 at 11:58 PM Rating: Default
As said above, this is used if a pet is far away from you and causing aggro. If the pet is far from you, then you won't be able to target the pet. If you can't target the pet, you can't use your focus item to get rid of it. Trust me, i've tried it with my shovel of ponz.

Hitting F1 twice will target your pet. Problem solved...
RE: IT WORKS
# Aug 17 2001 at 10:27 PM Rating: Decent
Sorry, my previous post wasn't written correctly. Yes, F1 twice will target your pet. Reclaim energy on our items has a range though, so if the pet is too far, no go on the Reclaim.
RE: IT WORKS
# May 08 2002 at 9:50 PM Rating: Decent
Ok obviously none of you have been on big raids or hate raids. Don't ask me why but in those zones your pet will just start to wander around, these boots are awesome if you go to where your pets supposed to be guarding and he isn't there and you can't find him. Boom click those boots and problem solved, no more big trains, and no more people yelling at you. BOOOONNGG.

Mage is level 23 now and they started working at level 20.

But as with ordinary invis it kills the pet when you use the effect.

Anyone know what level the effect will be activateable? 28?

I multiquested these onto a level 10 mage and he says he is too low level, so I'm just wondering.
