Does Extended Affliction no longer exist? I haven't been able to find an extended affliction item anywhere anymore.

Think it's Extended Torment now. Rest were either dropped or changed.

There is also
Affliction of the Dragorn
Curse of the Dragorn
Bane of the Dragorn
Vindication of the Dragorn
Focus of Mediocrity
Timeburn
Discordant Malaise

#REDACTED, Posted: Jul 05 2003 at 5:52 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Well for those people who used this focus to make the dot snares last longer it's gonna suck but they are changing, or have changed depending on when you read this, the focus effect from Extended Affliction to Burning Affliction so it will do more damage per pulse instead of just lasting 1 or 2 more pulses. I'll have to wait till the patch but I like the idea of having the improved damage from the begining of the dot and not having to wait for it to wear off to get the full effect of the focus.
#REDACTED, Posted: Apr 05 2003 at 12:47 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) was in sol a last night, and was given a pair by some baroness. i forget her name... sorry lady. anyway, i have been camping in beholders maze hoping to see spinflint spawn for weeks now trying to finish off the rock collection quest from the pok so i could get extended afflicion II. now, i don't need to be doing that quite so much. haven't been paying attention to see if it activates on my root, or snare yet, but will pay attention next time, and let you all know what i see.

Extended Afflication used to work on spells like snare, but it was changed a while ago to be DOT only.

So, it could be the posts you read were not trying to lie or lead you on. Most likely they were made before this change happened. :)

It still works on necro snares, because they have a DoT component. But you are right, it did also work on regular snares before it has been took out.

Still these boots are wonderful!

great buy

I consider myself twinked by the Rathe and being a casino, and i spend TONS of time looking up gear that is the best for the druid class and is affordable. I find these at the top of the list because with these i can bring a HG in Rathe down 40% with Creaping Crud, Immolate, and Drones of Doom. So if you can find a better item for a reasonable price plz e-mail me and if you was to see what good druid gear is check me out. https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/userinfo.html?char=292670 And i do have 210 wis i switch the rings constantly. Just my 2 cp.

DoT Classes Should Pick These Up

I was surprised to find so few posts here regarding this relatively inexpensive set of footwear. With Extended Affliction, these boots would likely provide an excellent effect for any other DoT classes such as shamans, druids, necros, and even enchanters. These boots are not hard to acquire and can often be bought cheaply on the market; they seem to be the "great find" for DoT classes that the BABS is to 2-hand slashers. To save you a click, here's the scoup on the effect:

Extended Affliction II

1: Increase spell durations up to 20%
2: Restriction: Spells level 44 and lower
3: Restriction: 'Detrimental' spells only
4: Restriction: Minimum Tick Duration: 6
5: Restriction: Only applies to 'Hit Points (HP)' spells

I Love my Kobold boots. I'll be wearing them probably right up to lvl 44. They used to be something to cover the feet until I could find something better, but now they're here to stay. These in combination with a few other affordable focus items, ie Blackened Alloy Medallion, Chipped Bone Bracelet, have made me a much more effective druid.
Good Boots

Good for enchanters as well. Effect usable with enchanter dot and root line. Meaning an 20% longer root and a dot with 20% more damage.

Sometimes strange enchanters enjoy the solo action. I find that these boots help a greet deal.

Perhaps I'm mistaken, but I don't think these will affect the length of your roots any... One of the restrictions is HP-Only Spells, which root is not.
You're DoTs should last longer, but I believe root will last the same length of time.

Yes, you are mistaken. If you haven't noticed, root does affect HP. Try casting root an a green mob and see how much damage that does alone.

I cast root with this and it tells me the item has an effect on it. Looks like ext. Affliction included root.
