Only thing I can see this being better than Tae Ew for is the fact that you can start wearing this at 46 (what the stats would look like I am not sure).

Also, Tae Ew Chain Mail costs a fraction of what this costs to make, with much less in the way of sub-combines to hassle with!

Hate to put the world to rights but your way out on AC / WIS most important stats.

AC doesnt mean Jack to us now, if you are going to get hit your going to die ...end of story ... ac wont help one bit.

Wis ??? Your a ranger mate ... a damage dealer .. not a druid.

The most important stats are str / dex and HP.

Max str = maxed atk

Max dex = max procs ..

Max Hp = last a bit longer when it all goes to crap and your left tanking for 10 secs.

At the high end you will seldom use DD spells as you do more damage in the 3.5 secs it takes to cast by using you weapons / bow.

If your lucky enough to get a Primal then str / dex stop to be important ... then just get Max hp under your belt.

Unless of course you want the mana pool of a druid ... but it raises the question of why your playing a ranger ?

Was in PoV the other day, with my cleric. We had a VERY poorly equipped paladin for MT (seemed to have about 4500 hp fully buffed, virtue & brells). Well, before I caught on to this, and started using fast heals, he went down once, when a CH didn't hit fast enough.

The RANGER then proceeded to SUCCESSFULLY tank the mob, and we finished it off, rather than dying. Admittedly, the ranger took some healing to keep standing, but actually tanked about as well as the paladin.

i get it now.. he must be playing a lv65 healer char that is powerleveling the ranger through the levels. no wonder most of his statements are things retards say!

I get it now. You were looking in the mirror when you were talking about retards. Most of what he said was spot on, although AC is not entirely meaningless to a ranger.

If your not worried about ac, the tigeraptor line of armor should do you just fine.
#REDACTED, Posted: Jan 16 2003 at 7:46 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) considering tigeraptor gives complete ******** stats compared to this....why do you even compare hurricane line of armour to tigeraptor?

Well I am 56 Ranger, and when I look at this its the AC and wisdom thats impressive.(most inportant to a Ranger class) I have my Epic so the dex comes into play. the hp,s makes up for the sta and never complain about the resists.all and all I would definantley save and buy this gear..
#REDACTED, Posted: Jan 11 2003 at 6:10 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) wisdom is the most iMportant stat for us rangers huh? well i'll tell you this much I'd much rather have 255 sta than 255 wisdom any day on my ranger. go figure tho im just a outrider what the hell do i kno :-P

255 Stamina is pretty trivial to get if you either group with a shaman or have a primal/prismatic weapon. There's lots of gear out there with serious stamina on it.

Wisdom on the other hand is in very short supply, particullarly for us half-elf rangers :)

This is a very nice piece of gear.

What's funny about it? He said for half elves, and half elves have a starting wisdom of only 65, plus most ranger gear has lots of strength and only a little wisdom.
Very pleased to see more crafted items hit the market

Aloha all

Two points would like to make.

1. I would love to see what the coloring scheme for a full set of this armour. I trust that it will have a special look about it, and all in all it would be a lovely set to purchase. (very expensive and out of my budget, but I never was a big saver ....) A complete set of the chain armour would give a very distinct advantage when you want to level a character up quickly to meet a guild requirement. (and look snappy while doing it, without doing days in HOT/Kael/WTOV)

2. All in all I am pleased that the senior craftsmen are finally able to craft more items that make all the hours (days, weeks, months) of farming to raise skills, and are now able to make a profit. Kudos to the design crew for addressing a oft forgotton aspect of the game -- profit from tradeskills

Ok so the components are hard to get? that doesnt mean the person making the item is the one using it... Retards... Trade skills are for TRADING. This item while hard to get the components is DESIGNED so that the person recieving this doesnt need a raid to get it. Yes ToV armor is better BUT has a heavy faction requirement and if you are not getting it MQed it takes a raid to get the piece. While any GM Smith who goes to the zones needed with his guild and gets components can then make this item and SELL IT. That is what it was designed for. And therefor a ranger / rogue / shaman can save their money and buy it. Fact is most people playing the game have not been to ToV and maybe never will... I have, but i have not been to sleepers, i do not have a key, i am no where near in line to get a key, and probably never will. So just cause something better drops in ST that mean i have to pass up other stuff? People need to learn what comments are helpful and what comments just take up space (yes this one takes up space but if it educates someone then it served its purpose)

w0w you got a wicked mail. what's your point? wicked mail is better than this, what is the point for pointing out the obvious?

# Dec 10 2002 at 9:56 AM Rating: Default
It really isn't very good. ToV is definitly better - and easier to get hunt ToV than Bastion of Thunder where a lot of the components drop. Very poor RvR.

level to attain is incorrect unless you get twinked through the flags or buy from a tradeskiller.

boy I'm glad you posted that. I can rest easy knowing YOU wouldn't wear this... sheesh. Why do people feel the need to comment like that?

I for one think this is a pretty decent item... sure, no wis on it, but heck, wish my bst could wear this ;)
#REDACTED, Posted: Dec 10 2002 at 9:52 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) boy I'm glad you posted that. I can rest easy knowing that you wish that you could put this on a class not even listed to use it (and can't even wear chain, in case that fact was lost on you too)...sheesh. "i agree, wtf would verant give rangers or shamen int? rogues have no mana anyway..." - Tinerdar

To answer that question, while a Shaman doesnt really need the intelligence (they should have wisdom gear that is comparable by this time), a ranger or rogue could use this as stat gear for doing some trade skills, +10 isnt anything to really sneeze at as far as that is concerned.

Looking at the AC, i can see why any of the 3 classes listed would want this, +41 for a chain tunic is impressive, and the magic resist is pretty good too.

Maybe rogues could use this as tradeskill stat gear, but why would a ranger? WIS/INT-based tradeskills make their check based on the higher stat, WIS or INT. Doesn't matter which is higher, just how high that number is. As a WIS-based hybrid, a Ranger would have a higher wisdom than intelligence anyway, so this would be relatively useless. Not to mention that the velious quest BPs, or at least the thurg quest BP, would probably be easier to obtain than this, and has wisdom on it. All in all, the INT on the Hurricane armor is completely useless.

AC: +41
Dex: +9
Magic Resist: +13
Poison Resist: +5
Disease Resist: +5
HP: +55

these are all the stats a rogue will look at and as a 43rd rogue is i had a smith that was willing to make this for me i would take it in a heartbeat i dont care that its got mana or that it has int i wore a golden bracer low ac +7 int +7 str focus extended range a great int caster item i just wanted it for that little bit of str and ac so dont dump a class cos they got no mana
RE: Intelligence?
# Dec 10 2002 at 1:22 PM Rating: Decent
As a rogue I'd say this item is just ok. Just for the resists and the hp, but in the end game ac isnt too important so why bother getting this. If you're lvl 43 your dex is probably high enough that an additional 9 points isnt going to make much difference. It would definately be a much better bp if it had some stamina. But since it doesn't I wouldn't even bother buying or smithing this. Of course this is only my opinion, I may be wrong, some sorry rogue/shaman/ranger may think this bp is the cat's meow, but i seriously doubt anyone who does any worthwhile raids will want this.

the thing is i am normally duoed with a shammy or caster even a cleric so i like the ability to proc alot and take the hits cos ch is a mana eater sure im not to end game yet but still this will beat out that rygorr battlemail ive been wearing for so long and your right i wouldnt pay for thie either i cant even afford it im no ebayer and i dont have mules in bazaar 24-7 and i dont have uber gear so i do see this and say hey this is kinda nice and it would be even greater if there was sta instead of int i just didnt like how he focused one one stat and said rogues dont need that i dont know how many pieces i have with mana i prolly have 100+ mana combined on my gear and its not cos i need that its the other stats
