Confirmed it still drops.

I was going through this area of Howling Stones, on my way to camp the Erudite Mask for my Bard, and I saw this mob.. decided it looked too happy being alive, so I made short work of it.. Had no idea this item dropped off of this mob, but got it first shot!

He is in the west side of Howling Stones, in a long hallway leading to the teleport pad.

Dropped for me recently.

I have used Tserina's Whip (1-hslash, procs snare, primary only) as a Rogue, but this is better since you can equip it in secondary and leave a piercer in primary.

Group of three got this to drop last night off of The Crypt Devourer in the North Wing. Was actually the easiest of the named fights all night long. Anyone have an idea what this should sell for?

I have this weapon go from 3k to 1500pp. 1500pp for this rare item would be a fairly nice deal IMO.

Offhand

If any rogue is useing this he/she shouldn't be using this weapon alone in the offhand. I consider myself a utility rogue carrying Serrated bone dirk, and Locustlure, and a GOOD offhand piercer/1h slasher. wut you do if in combat switch this wep in and out as it's needed... really snare/dot combo's generate too much aggro to keep in the offhand permenantly.

Well, the lack of stat boosts on this weapon is sure to make a lot of people whine, but it has its upside too.

First off, the dmg/dly numbers aren't terrible.

Second, it's droppable.

Third, it's offhand equippable, so it can be used for some proc action in the secondary slot without generating too much aggro in a normal fight situation.

Fourth, it procs Dooming Darkness for god's sake. It's a free DOT+Snare. Rogues naturally have high DEX, so this sucker should be procing a very respectable amount of times per fight.

It does have its drawbacks (a bit weighty, and not piercing, but that shouldn't matter much, since anyone capable of camping one of these should have at least passing knowledge of slashing weapons), but this is a solid and useful weapon. Couple this baby with a nice poker in the backstabbin' hand (the poker should have a healthy STR boost, to compensate for the absence of one here) and you've got yourself a nice combo. This thing plus a Bloodpoint could make for a pretty tough Rogue.

But these are just MY thoughts...

Aggro

Aggro from this weapon is pretty easy to avoid. I dont have much weapon drawing aggro that I cant duck even with this equipped. Its a nice weapon, but I only equip it if something starts to run, it looks pretty neat too, looks just like the icon.

The effect is nice for ID-kiting, but it's impressive aggro in the hands of a melee already good at getting aggro might leave this as a solo/duo weapon.
