Finally got one of these damned things took about 2 hours was a mage myself and another cleric killing...then the mage had to go so we never got another one....mainly because clerics just dont have the dps to solo and kill enough mobs to get them.....killed just over 100 mobs to get 1.

My experience:
-killed 420 mobs to get 4 pearlescent fragments
-dropped off of a wyvern, a mature wurm, a soul devourer, and a skyclinder drake

Day 3 two more dropped. So far all three have droped from drakes. I got these two from AE'ing the place with the help of a 67 wizzy and a 70 druid.
Day 4 got my last one WOOT (from wurm), After four days this is what i learned.
Get some beer,a cartoon of smokes, the local pizza delivery number, and a good chair , your gona be here a while. its all luck of the draw, they are really rare drops and very random,
My only words of advice are , relax ,dont let it get to ya ,they will drop , it just takes time.

Okies. day 1 thought i would try the zone for XP with my 44 cleric and some friends, I was not looking for these yet. WOW one dropped in about 3 mins after started off a drake.
I spent the rest of the day there pulling non stop , not one seen any where.
Day 2 this is hr 6 with a grp im level 47 and still no drop.
Nice xp at lower 40's but the drop rate is pure crap. I will post again when i get the last three and give details. Norath needs more epiced clerics

i hunted by just south of the wizard port in. i found 3 there but it took a few days. i got the 4th from another group near OT zone. hope this helps

Got all 4 of mine last night in about 7-8 hours all 4 droped off Cinderdrakes in SF GL all
be ready to test your patients haha this was verry boreing.

Got all four of mine killin for them at Veeshan's Peak zone line area .. all with in 3 hours.. thought it might help

Ummm, perhaps because they used to be called Pearlescent SHARDS

'used to' doesnt mean anything. I 'used to' be level 2, I dont still go looking for CB groups though... ok ok, maybe on rare occations when I cant find any other group :)
got all 4 of mine in one day, less than 12hrs total with most of it being just me two-boxing a warrior and cleric.
Cleric was lvl67 and warrior lvl65. Neither of them are super geared (Warrior about 9khp raid buffed, cleric is about 7k raid). Fought right by wizzy port in. Wasnt a challenge at all, just pulled with warrior and could let her solo it with a HoT after every 9-10 mobs. Shards came off the following:
1st: A Skyash Drake
2nd: A Wyvern
3rd: A Chromodrac
4th: A Skycinder Drake
Figured id add a great way to get them is to get a bard friend and have him swarm kite 20 or so mobs at a time, it can really speed things up for mass kills.

Got one yesterday off of Black Scar the named Drake. Not having the luck you two had, averaging about 250-300 kills between drops.

got my 4 shards in 1 hour 2 in a row 3rd 10 mins later and last bout 30mins later all off of bottom feeders by BW zone

Yes I got three on my own and one called out of zone. Heard a total of 8 dropped in that time frame and 2 of them rotted =/ So if you are having trouble getting these I am sorry to hear it but I got mine :) most dropped over by Elder wurms by VP zone and then the rest were by BW zone line so I would hunt those places before the OT zone line.

Seriously think they did something to the drop rate on thiese. I've been working my butt off for months and even have spent hours on end with full groups cranking out kills and still I have not one shard!! Spent another 3 hours last night killing everything in sight and not one drop. There have been times when myself and others have even gone into this zone and there are no mobs to be found and no other players. I think its a majorly bugged zone (SF). I'm about ready to give up because I've lost all hope of ever seeing my epic because of these evil evil shards!

Uhh.. yeah I think it's rather bugged... in the northwest corner, there's a 'path' (marked on our maps) sorta behind a mountain wall that me and my wife (53 cleric) went to explore while moving to a different side of the zone, hunting for shards and when I was in the bottom of the path, I got near a wall, and BAM! a ton of mobs came out and instantly killed me, luckily my wife wasnt directly beside me and she was able to gate out of the area safely. I'm guessing the mobs are getting stuck under the world somehow and that's where they end up. So if the zone seems a bit empty, it could be that they are all there, waiting to hold a death party for some curious person. =(

seems to only drop 1 every 6 hours now. I know SOE hates this item. Makes the game so unbalanced. I bet they just made the drop nill to slow the spread of the epic item. So when youget your shard send out a yell so the other players dont waste time hunting for it.

They have done something to these fragments. They have made them much rarer. I have hunted them night after night. Level 65 Cleric solo'ing. I have killed 160 mobs and have got 1 (ONE) fragment to show for my effort.
This is about standard on Mordim Rasp server. So, if you are a cleric and are thinking about moving over...wait until you get your epic.

I've seen these drop off pretty much any mob over level 40 - one just dropped on a wandering wurm, which isn't on the list.

I got 4 of these last Friday night... the first three dropped in about an hour and a half, with about 20-25 mobs between drops.
The fourth one dropped 2 1/2 hours later, lol...
However, the fourth one dropped off of a Chromodrac, and it's listed here that they don't drop off of them. They do!

No, they have to be combined in a container.

My good friend Multani and I were in SkyFire for about 2 1/2 hours today, and you guys must be really unlucky, because I ended up getting 2 shards. I would reccomend you hunt the spermies (A Bottomless Feaster) near the Succor Point. These mobs are easier, don't dispell you (don't mess with those chromodrakes, /shiver). Once we started killing the sperm things, I ended up getting both in around 30 minutes. So don't waste your time, get your epic, or just don't let people die and you'll never have to use it. =P Goodluck to all you bored clerics...like me.

Ok I found these drop easier off of the elder wyverns at the entrance to veeshans peak.
They are single pullable and soloable by a 65 cleric.Well i managed anyway with only c2 and not kei.

Ok it mentions that the Wurms are found not just in Skyfire but in Burning woods also. Yes I have killed some there as well... but Do they drop the pearls there as well? Never here ppl talk about farming them over there.

Just had the pleasure of farming for the shards and I had 2 of them drop of the mature wurms within an hour. Killed several wurms and didn't get a drop at all.
The fragments drop off of nearly all mobs in skyfire. I have spent a lot of time there trying to get spells and have seen them on all of the mobs near the druid port in.

i farmed by the wizzie port for 20hrs over the course of 3 days. i found it odd that out of all the mobs i killed that i got all 4 Pearlescent Fragments offthe bottomless mobs ( the ones that look like mouths with tails
