Pearlescent Fragment  

 

This drops equally off of every mob in the Skyfire Mountains zone. Each mob has ~1% chance of dropping a Pearlescent Fragment. I got this information from Magelo's loot statistics for this item. There is no preferred spot or mob.

So kill any 400 mobs in Skyfire Mountains and on average you should have your four Pearlescent Fragments.

First 2 I can't remember what dropped the fragments. Third was from Mature Chromadrac. Fourth was A Wurm. Took about 2-3 solid hours of killing. First drop was on eastern border of the pool of lava in NE middle of zone. Last 3 were directly south of the center lava pool and straight north of wizard port. Hope it helps anyone.

When you kill over 1000 mobs in the zone and see not even a single drop it is NOT uncommon, it is Ultra Rare. So please change that "Rarity listing to Ultra rare as it should be listed. thanks

I've been hunting at the BW wall for 6 days killing everything from the Lava river just north of it and not a single Pearlescent. I've had guildies and friends help even. A couple times we went all over the zone killing everything in sight and still not a one. They really really need to up the drop rate on these, especially since we need 4. Many times I've wanted to just say ----- it and give up on this epic. Is it really worth it. Now I understand why so many players end up going to other games. looking through the forms I can see its not just me. Difficult is one thing, but time consuming is unreasonable. Wake up Sony, wake up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

copy and paste to your Skyfire_1.txt file in your map folder.
They path right through. And many at once. Got 4 fragments in one night, 2 different 4 hour sessions. If you have others with you, you can also go grab the clumps in front of the vp entrance. "

In 5-6 hours at the VP entrance we succeeded in getting the 4 fragments. I have done the Overthere ZL and the Wizard port camps in the past. If you are lower level or not a strong group the wizard port seems to be the safest as far as mob difficulty and adds go.

Chromadacs dispell (like mad)but can drop the fragments. If you avoid them you seem to end up with alot of them pathing around. As a necro I kited them away from the group to minimize the buff loss.

Success fragment hunting varies... I have seen a cleric get all 4 in less than an hour, I have assisted a person that needed closer to 16 hours. Level 50s characters get decent xp in this zone and so many spells drop it is good to have lots of bag space.

Felia Goldenwing is a turn-in NPC for the chanter 1.0. She can be a pain to catch up. If you find her it is nice to make sure no chanters are in the zone, and I would check within guild if that applies too. She seems to get killed by other mobs in Skyfire and is apparently on the named cycle.

Oh... excited clerics make sure you look up Ragefire before doing your turn in. It is a good fight to overpower.

Had one drop off of Black Scar today. Black Scar dropped a fragment and Immortals at the same time.

spent a few days on this with about 2-3 hour sessions and every single one dropped off a wurm of some sort.

We just got 3 in 30mins! I thought this would be a gruelling camp but was pleasantly surprised.

I've been late night hunting(untill 2:00 3:00 am.,EST)for the past 4 nights, and No luck. Been killing everything with my lvl 71 cleric, just self buffed and Celerity Potions, with out any problems. I guess I need to try some of these other places I read about in this thread.... Wish me luck, seems I'm going to need it... lol 8~}>>

After inlisting a little help, I got 1 fragment in like 10 min.... it must be that you need to kill a lot faster than a cleric can

i got all 4 in under 30 minutes camping SE of skyfire zone.

got two in a 30 min settin that was two days ago havent seen any since =/

Pain in the neck to get but best drop rate I've found is at the front of VP zone, got 3 in 90minutes as opposed to 1 in 6 days on and off roaming and killing with my 73rd Mage.

Has anyone noticed a nerfing of spawn rates for these shards? like NO mobs in zone =( hard to keel them if they dont spawn

This has been nothing but a nightmare. The camps were long and starting it at level 56 made the begining of this boring. If I was to reccomend it to the younger clerics, start young to where you still get exp and when you get older finish it then it all comes around. I have only collected 1 shard todate and have killed about 250 mobs.

Anyone have any idea of a good way to get fragments? Or is it just kill kill and pray your lucky?

Alrighty.. I been camping every where in this zone.. i had to have cleared half of the zone. Killed near VP entrance, at wizzy port in, OT Line, BW Line... all the SW corner. At one point, I was kiting 7 unsnared mobsat a time while pet killed em off 1 by one with cleric healing... not so easy when I'm boxing the two. Past 3 - 4 days, I haven't seen a single one of these. Why is everything for the cleric epic such a damned long camp? Lol. 9 hours for Bergurgle, 7 hours for Gimblox, 19 hours for Zordak Ragefire... at least I know this is worth it. There is almost always a shaman and/or druid soloing here... I ask them to OOC if they se eany, no response. Apparently my necro pet doesn't kill fast enough for me to receive them. Officially seeking help for getting these on the Fennin Ro server, contact Krosar or Qadyeniel. Please god... I will let you watch me duo Zordak with necro/cleric. It'll be a blst. ^_^

I have spent 3 nights in SF now trying to get these. Last night 6 other friends came to help me, we were there for 3 hours. We was taking down 6 mobs at a time and parked ourselves at VP zone( due to the pathing issue making all mobs walk in single file line across zone) ( Xeg-Zeb server) Long story short 3 days 9 total hours and hundreds of dead mobs not 1 pearl frag :(

I strongly suggest you bring along a necro if your sources are limited from a group of dps. I had 3 shard drop within 2 hours, didnt get last shard for another 2 days of on and off killing.

I've been so lucky with these.. actually, i've been so lucky with my whole epic... Took less than 3 days ! I got three shard drops all from mobs around the wiz port in.. in less that 2 hours, and i OOCd in zone for drops, and a low 40s gruop XPing near BW zone in had one drop too... WOOT ! I'm not kidding, less than 2 hours for all 4, I'm guessing Sony upped their drop rate..

WOOT just got all 4 for epic today on Maelin Starpyre in jsut 6 hours! lol of course i did have a few level 70 friends helping after i got the first one. I am very happy about this. I jsut need to kill Overlord bathezid and Zordak Ragefire and his dragon version and im done : )

Dulmar Holycaster 50 Cleric of Maelin Starpyre

Not sure if this got nerfed or what. Decided it was time for my cleric to have his sprinkler <he was getting too envious of others walking around brandishing theirs>. Had some time to kill this morning, so I took my shaman (61) and my Necro (56) to Skyfire Mtns. Parked it on the side of the wall and started slowing, crippling, send in pets, dot, dot, dot, dot. Sit back and watch the mobs die. Even the Chromodrac's weren't a problem (they love to dispell). Got all 4 shards in less than 3 hours...

Hmmm..... thought this was going to be a bit harder?
But then, I'm only starting the epic, so who knows....

Thought I'd post my experience with this so far. I have seen three drop. All were in the north east corner (at the succor point). Two dropped from bottomless mobs, 1 from chromatic. I have tried camping all other areas of the zone for hours at a time with no luck. Good luck, this is definately the bottleneck for the epic

I just found my forth one from another bottomless. Each drop was about an hour and half apart.

Been out for 7 days so far and have got a total of 3 to drop, TON of spells and 8 immortal book drops. This is insanely rare for some reason.

Rage is still in sol b, just got the combine box from him today

My experience:
-killed 420 mobs to get 4 pearlescent fragments
-dropped off of a wyvern, a mature wurm, a soul devourer, and a skyclinder drake

Okies. day 1 thought i would try the zone for XP with my 44 cleric and some friends, I was not looking for these yet. WOW one dropped in about 3 mins after started off a drake.
I spent the rest of the day there pulling non stop , not one seen any where.
Day 2 this is hr 6 with a grp im level 47 and still no drop.
Nice xp at lower 40's but the drop rate is pure crap. I will post again when i get the last three and give details. Norath needs more epiced clerics

Got all 4 of mine last night in about 7-8 hours all 4 droped off Cinderdrakes in SF GL all
be ready to test your patients haha this was verry boreing.
