This is garbage compared even to the other rogue newbie quests

Kelethin for example is around 6/27

It has been changed to a 6/20 dagger, more in line with the other newb daggers.

On The Nameless, I have little troulbe finding Large and Giant Myotis Bat fur. It drops every 5 to 6 kills or so. Most of the time, when you zone into QH from NQ you will see Large and Giant Myotis Bat corpses all over because no one picked up the ND fur(s) which dropped.

Funny. i was killing bats the other day and ended up with lots of furs and whiskers.

Also, you need to kill a guy, not a guard, in Qeynos hills for the ranger sword

Sure, you'll get the whiskers and furs from the Large Myotis Bats, but you won't get the item LARGE MYOTIS BAT FUR (no drop) - there's a GIANT MYOTIS BAT FUR too that DOES drop and is also need for some of the armor.

This thing is a pile. I got it with my alt, and was appalled to see such vile stats. Even as far as newbie weapons go. This is hardly better than your starting rusty dagger, and aside from being magic, this is worthless.

As just an Example, the Surefall Glade based quests for Rangers Sword:

Pine Scout Longsword
Damage: 6
Delay: 27
Ratio: 4.5 Average
Str: +1 Agi: +2

The quest is not easy either. You have to go to WK and kill a 12th level guard, which at level 10 is not really possible. In the time it might take you to round of people to do it, you could easily afford to buy a weapon. This should be more on the order of 5/24 or something.

By the way, the quest pieces for the related armor (Large Myotis Bat Fur) still don't drop, so you can't get the cap, arms (?), or legs.

There was a time when 6/27 was a really good weapon. There was a time when lvls 30+ regularly dual wielded Combine Longswords (6/28). Be quiet. If the quest isn't worth it, don't do the quest.

I was basing my opinion of pure crap on the other newbie weapons out there, as you can see in my post. And I didn't know it had such wretched stats till I got it. NO SIR I WILL NOT BE QUIET! =D

I agree, it should be at least 4/21, considering you just need to kill a lv 12 mob for it i think its not to bad, compared to the dificulty of the othernewb wep quests. Btw you'd only need about 1 other person to take it at lv 10.
