Just as has happened in other zones, now that HoH is a hotzone lots of people are spending lots of time there, so many formerly rare drops are showing up in large numbers in the Bazaar, and prices have plummeted. When I looked just now there were 12 up for sale, half of those for under 100pp. I picked up the cheapest at 5pp to toss into my tribute pile: 360 tribute for 5pp is a ratio I'm happy to pay!

I solo 5-6 of the entrance guardians, have killed over 100. Today I got a nice surprise! This dropped, while before was maybe 1 in 20 gave orb of marr or chunk of metal.

It appears that the level restrictions on weapon damage has been fixed. Damage output now appears to be consistent with the level adjusted damage values. I do not believe there was mention of it in any of the patch messages.

Hitting 47-52 at level 35 - seems they're not honoring the EQ stat limits - get one now before that all changes!

On Luclin, I usually see at least two or three of these swords for sale. Sometimes they range greatly in price, but on average, they run about 300p. Is this sword fairly common, or do people just not want to buy it?

It seems to be plenty common, and the recommended level of 56 really hurts it. Most people who'd use it have better than what this caps out by the time they're 56.

Actually, on recommended level weapons, the code seems to be broken on the damage aspect of them. So even though it says you don't have full damage, you actually seem to. I know my mid 40's ranger can slash in the 100's with this weapon with max STR.
It's worth mentioning that the 'red damage' code bug could be fixed at any time.
So if you're counting on full damage from a weapon you're well below the recommended level of, you could log on some time to find a major loss in your damage output.
I'd sure hate to be level 30 trusting this to give me '22' damage and suddenly find it delivering about 11-12 one day.

Wish they would fix it, the number of bad-at their-class high levels is increasing fast enough, without these cheap PL weapons being available.
Its bad enough to see a level 20 running around with a centi LS, soloing mobs that are supposed to take a group, without them having weapons with a ratio like this one.
Don't get me wrong. I'm not complaining about the high levels with twinks, as much as the true newbs, on their first character, running around with gear like this, levelling up to 50 in 3 days, and then having no clue how to play their character, once their gear is no longer overpowering.

Picked up this, the Wakizashi of the Frozen Skies and a Compund Steelshaft Bow for 500pp on Tunare.

I have seen people in there 10s-30s using this weapon and it is landing for a lot more damage than it should be. The fact that it is going cheap is even more surprising. If you had a ranger or another class that can use this, I would pick it up and give it a try. Was seeing 30s in damage in the 10s (levels) and 40s-50s in the 20s-30s. Very scary.

Well I read these posts and decided to try one out. I've been hitting for up to about 80, although normally in the high 60's, with this in my primary. This is for a lv 33 warrior with a str of 192. It's not too bad because that's about 10 or 12 points less than the max I've been doing with a 29 damage, slower 2-hander. Supposedly this is giving me 13 damage at my level but it's hitting for about twice as much as the 12 damage sword I had been using.

DAMMIT, pressed the wrong button Lol, anyways, i bought my lightblade in bazaar for 65pp, and the prices were unusually low, the price on this blade and Decreased INSANELY, my bro bought his for about 650pp, just wanted to let everyone know not to buy them until theyre under 100pp, (people get impatient to sell stuff, so they go really low! ive seen silver chitin handwraps go for 700pp!!!!)

Bought on Tarew Marr last night for 100 plat. I can't imagine why a weapon of this caliber has dropped so drastically but there were about 10 for sale and none of them over 1k. Sad when the Polished Granite Tomahawk cost more than a weapon that falls in HoH.

Would this be a good weapon for a paladin who currently has Venomous Axe and Ghoulbane? I paid 1k for it.

Not really man, first, paladins can't use this weapon. Second, if I were playing a paladin he would be wielding a 2hs/b few shields can come close to making up for the damage lost to single wielding a one handed weapon.
Well, the veno axe isn't a very good Paladin weapon either. Most paladin 1h weapons, will have ratios of close to one.
The other posts are correct that paladins should usually use a 2h weapon. However, for those occasions when you need to bash (prior to getting 2hbash aa) a good 1h and shield combo is nice. Plus, if the pally is tanking, the extra stats off a shield can make a difference.
The mace of the fallen crusader is a nice paladin 1hb. The ratio is a LOT better than this. This is meant to be an offhand weapon for dual wield classes, particularly rangers and rogues.

I currently use the defender's/lamentation combo. However i have to agree with the post below. At 41 the defenders lightblade will have too many level penalties on it. I would bank it for now and use it at level 50 or so when it is a lot closer to the recommended level. i also recommend getting a venemous axe. I used a venemous axe/ fluxbladed axe combo when i solo'd up to about level 50 when i found a defenders in the bazaar on stormhammer for 50pp. At higher levels most people will have at least 22% permanent haste. on them and will be grouping with chanters or other haste casters. this sword does mad damage.

Centi Longswords are OK weapons. However, they aren't really warrior weapons. Warriors primary concern is keeping aggro on them. THis is accomplished by having FAST weapons, and procs.
My personal experience has been that a Venomous Axe of the Velium brood significantly outtaunts a Centi LS in Offhand.
I used a lammy in primary until I got to level 40, then went with frostbringer primary, veno axe secondary. This combo outaunted anything I had tried up to that point.
While the defender's lightblade does good damage, its kind of slow for aggro purposes. Plus, at lvl 40 or 41, the ratio is significantly worse, due to the recommended level of 56.
Go to the steel warriors website for extensive information on weapon choices, procs and the like.
But in short, leave the centi AND the defender's lightblade to the rangers, and get a fast weapon with a proc.

I like the graphic for this sword alot. The blade is silver and wide towards the hilt, tapering to a narrow wedge at the tip. The hilt is a pale gold color with a dark grip, and the pommel is a gold sphere.

Just got one for 4900 on Terris-Thule.Average price I've seen at this time is between 5 and 6k.I use a Frostbringer(frosty) in primary,and upgraded my Centi LS with the DLB in offhand.At lvl 48 I notice a nice dmg increase,which is good because I like to solo.It would be even sweeter if it had an effect on it,but as is,it's agreat wep. 8)

Sell it, buy yourself a venomous axe of the velium brood, and take the cash left over and upgrade your armor and other gear. Start with your rings. Get velium fire wedding rings, and scrap those str/agi rings. The replace that neck item, and your cloak.
As someone who's main is a cleric, it always hurts when I see a meatshield with almost no gear, and real expensive weapons. YOUR JOB IS TO TAKE HITS. You want HIGH AC and lots of HP. Damage output of your offhand sword is irrelevent. I know you said you solo, but that won't last much longer, and you'd probably solo better with better armor than you would with that sword.

I have a 57 warrior on Xev. Snowchipper in primary and this is secondary. Had a frostbringer in secondary before this and i notice a MAJOR difference in the ease to hold aggro. Would highly suggest this for offhand.

could anyone tell me if this would be better in secondary than a frosty for DPS and agro ..im just trying to figure out which is a better combo, I use a shortblade of lightning in my primary???
Keep the Shortblade in Primary (always keep lower delay in your main for more attacks which gives more agro) and if you have the Lightblade, definitely put that in your secondary over Frostbringer.
Bunk! The lowest delay weapon always goes in the offhand slot. I use a Lightblade in primary and a Baton of the Peacemaker in off hand. For every swing of lightblade i swing the baton at least 6 times.

First off that isnt a good thing.

Well,your wrong offhand damege is based on dly of weap,less dly in offhand=more offhand hits,your char automatically hits more with main than offhand,so...if you have a high dly weap in offhand and a low in main your gonna hit 4-10 times(depending on the dly) b4 hitting 1 time with off hand but if you have a low dly in offhand,and a higher in main,your ratio is better,example(ranger)(60+

so a level 30 monk with maxed dual wield for level (215) would have (215 + 30)/400 == 61.25% chance to swing with his off hand. So using a 20 delay weapon he would have a 61.25% chance to swing every 2 seconds reguardless of dex.
As to your comment about not being a certain level, I find it quite funny that you were wrong -- not to mention the fact that i have met characters level 65 with more AA's than I would know what to do with that I could swear had never played before the day i met them and I have also met level 30 characters that knew what they were doing better than most 60+ that i know.

I bought this last night on the Luclin server for 1k, normal price is 6k+. I got the better end of this deal by far.
Namely this is from An Animated Guardian in the HOHA basements. They are tougher than the Valorians , but all are snarable. All the basements can be quadded. About 26k hp I'd say on one is what itd take to kill in a quad. lightblade is hugely rare, about 4 times as rare as spectrals(which means about 1 in 500 drops). I gave one away to a friend whose corpse decayed to finance new armors.

Also dont know for sure but the guy posting about dozens for sale must be on prexus... During slow time there is average 3 - 4 for sale for 6k a piece... and primetime i have seen (the most i have seen) 7 for sale at 1 time... all compeating to sell theirs,.... thats where i got mine for 4k, and with warblade of the fallen in primary (10 / 19) i like it alot!

Dropped off of An Animated Guardian. Looks like a black suit of armor. Snareable, doesn't summon, little more resistant than the other "kiteable" mobs there.

I can say that my record hit so far is 129 with selfbuffed 217str, but average blows are closer to 80-90, and got one really nice double atk in for 123/119 so far, over 250dmg w one swing for a 1handed weapon. Im tossing on teaming it with my snowchipper or warblade of the fallen, thinking snowchipper mainly for the parry % stats and proc. We'll see. I recommend this weapon to anyone looking to kick the bejesus outa stuff really fast and hard.

Well av price on sol ro is about 6 - 9k, bought one for 6k yesterday ) christmas eve and i do in the 90's sometimes 100's with this( including a str buff though eh) its a very nice weapon but compared to LSoEE i guess there about the same

The talk that this will be nerfed etc seems to me a total crock and marketing ploy. Yeah I got an inside source from VI he tells me LSOEE has 15 AC on it.
Perhaps this weapon has a nice damage bonus but I did not see it mentioned.
Why would the drop be nerfed with a recommended level of 56?
I see that some think its a bit better, perhaps a tiny bit either way. But I have had two peeps offer it in trade to me for LSOEE. If they are equal then this weapon is worth 9 - 12k depending on how many dozen are selling in the bazaar.
Perhaps this weapon has a nice damage bonus but I did not see it mentioned.
Why would the drop be nerfed with a recommended level of 56?
I see that some think its a bit better, perhaps a tiny bit either way. But I have had two peeps offer it in trade to me for LSOEE. If they are equal then this weapon is worth 9 - 12k depending on how many dozen are selling in the bazaar.

Man Dozens in the Bazaar?!? I have not seen any for sale in the Bazaar on Stormhammer or Seventh Hammer servers. What server are you on where there are dozens for sale? I will send a mule over and get one for sure!

Morell Thule yeah i saw that for 20k.. gotta hate these people trying to get huge profits. Normal price on Morell-Thule is 10-13k.

Everyone told me that dual weild working like that.
each time ur primary hit U have a chance to dual weild. That would mean that the delay of Ur secondary weapon have no mather. and if it is this wepaon just kick ass in the secondary slot.???

I believe you are correct except that delay has a small impact. In the course of a fight you will more than likely have instances where the primary swing has a positive dual wield check but your secondary is still in delay. In that case you would not receive the extra attack(s). I could be wrong and if so I'm sure I'll be "corrected". Hehe
Regardless this weapon rocks in the secondary slot.

No, that's wrong.
Your offhand is completely unrelated to your primary hand. Each hand handles the delay itself.
When you start combat each hand has the chance to hit, the primary hand gets a double attack check and the offhand first has to pass the dual wield check and then a double attack check. After the delay of the primary hand it hits again depending on the skill checks. Otoh after the delay of the OFFHAND it gets a new dual wield check and then another double attack skill.
So, not your primary gets a dual wield check if the offhand gets a hit but the offhand gets the dual wield check after the delay of the offhand.

And THIS formula is the reason why im using a slow but hard hitting weapon in offhand. You hit very rarely with it. I have about a 60% chance of a succesfull dual wield in lvl 58 using this formula, that alone is already bad. But Guys, that was only the check for Dual Wield. You forgot one important Check 8) After a successfull dual wield check you have to HIT the mob also first before you can check a double hit 8) So i would say i have about a 45% chance to HIT a mob with the offhand weapon.
Im also experiencing this when i put my 12/20 weapon into offhand. It HITS a lot lesser than in primary.

Actually no you don't have to hit the mob to get a double attack check. If you succeed on your DW then your offhand swings and you make a DA check, if that check succeeds you swing again. Same goes for mainhand, you don't have to hit to get a DA check. Every time your mainhand delay cycles, you get a DA check and either swing once or twice depending on whether or not DA fires.

Current price on Xegony Bazaar is around 30k. There are not many of these swords on the server. I hear that there may be as few as 9 or 10 swords in use right now. Someone was shouting on the buy/sell channel last nite that they were looking for a "DLB" ...after asking what a "DLB" was, I was shocked to find out that the buyer was in search of a "Defenders LightBlade". What was even more amazing was this buyer was paying 70k for the "DLB", I asked if he was out of his mind, and then he told me that a friend of his who works closely with the people at Verant told him that this was one of the PoP items that was going to have it's drop rate severally dropped, there was even talk of making it a NO DROP item, the same as the "Windblade" which went from 15-20k all the way up to 90k in just over 2 weeks. Anyone out there have any information on this sword, I'd like to get my hands on one for my warrior before it's made NO DROP...This baby rocks

WOOT...Finally got my hands on one of these bad boys. OMFG, can not believe what kind of damage my warrior can cause using this in his offhand. Paid a very healthy price for it but worth every plat. I now combo with a Swiftblade of Zek(primary) and the Defenders LightBlade (secondary). I will hold onto the sword for a long time to come. GL finding one at any price.

im a lvl 38 warrior on tholuxe paells. the other day i asked a question concerning 1hs weapons in pok. a nice lady came up and answered my questions . she then asked would you like this for now till you get better it wont work as well for now but wait till later. it currently only 15 damage for me but i can equip it. I think ill hang on to it

Excuse me but.....how in the hell are you useing a "recomended 56+ weapon at 54? I have tryed to use a recomended 59 with my 56 warrior and couldnt equip.

Recommended vs. Required: I have toons level 38 and 53 that have objects with REC levels of 46, 56 and 61. What they cannot equip yet are the ones that have REQ levels above their own. The higher they go, the better the stats on the REC level items. I love it! It's like getting upgrades all the time!

this is a different era of recommended level i have one on my 51 ranger and my main is a fleshgrinder which is recommended level 51 a while back i lost a level and could no longer equip the fleshgrinder but i could still use my lightblade. yes btw this weapon is great hitting for 88 offhand. Good Journeyz

I definitely equipped at 54 (55 now). The only stat that isn't complete is HP. At 55 I get full damage.
On a similar note I bought a pair of nice legs for my bard that were level recommended, not required. He could not equip them. Sounds like some items are mislabeled.

bought this last night for 5k it is a great thing and they sell for 10 k on my server ayonae ro btw i am lvl 52 and dmg is 20 until 56 wich iti is then 22 red stats. Nice Graphic

Actually at 55 the only red stat is hp, and then it is 44hp instead of 45hp.

I offhand this on my rogue. Personally I find it to be an improvement over the LSoEE that it replaced. At 54 I get around 60 more HPs due to the negative stamina on LSoEE and overall my DPS is a little higher, even with the longer delay. I'm thinking that the +5 magic damage on the LSoEE must be resisted more than I was originally led to believe as I find myself hitting in the 90s more often with a max of 102. At 54 I get nearly full stats, 21 34 with 8 dex and 43 HPs. Definitely worth more than LSoEE imho. Great for a rogue in terms of lower aggro due to longer delay. Before I get flamed for abbreviating, LSoEE is Long Sword of Ethereal Energy. Looks cool too.
I agree, this is the best 1HS for rogues to use in offhand. The high delay means les hits so less aggro, and the high dmg and great ratio mean same if not better dot as other comparable weapons. On same note warriors and tanking classes should look for a weapon with same ratio but lower damage and delay to create more aggro.
Got this on Xegony for 1300 pp this week, and seen it selling for 1000 soon after.
I get 18/34 at lvl 48, which is still better ratio than jagged blade of mourning I was using. As far as I am concerned this slot is filled til I am lvl 65 unless some new weapon is discovered or created in upgrade.

I traded a Frosty for this last night...I'm wondering if I got ripepd off. From the sounds of this its worth about 10k more but it's still alot slower than I'm used to
