For those trying to learn the recipes to cap tailoring, you will need 21 of these. Magelo estimates the drop rate at around 2%. On average, you can expect to kill about 850 treants to get enough saps to learn all 7 recipes.

8 years later and its still ultra rare. cleared pon 6 times, got 1 sap.

This is definitely not a common drop. I'm still in PoN on my 5th hour.. Ive killed hundreds of Gnarled Treants and only 1 has dropped.. along with only 1 bow staff... these are NOT common.

After 4 hours of camping these I have gotten 1.

I beleave the drop for Nightmarewood Sap is broken,over the last 2 days I've killed over 200 gnarled treants and none have dropped.I've also been watching for them in the bazaar for the last 3 weeks and there have been none for sale that I have seen.
I sold the 3 I had for 300 pp ea. Others prices were from 250 up to 500 pp.

It's used to make the Night Terror Curing Agent, which is crafted with three saps, which you have, and a vial of distilled mana. The skill used is Brewing and it trivializes at 135. The curing agent, in turn, is used in seven recipes, including the one I'm working on, "Robe of Haunted Dreams." Unfortunately, the drop rate on these things is terrible. I've killed close to 35 treants and not one of them has dropped.
