doubt it

for all you that say you want this, i doubt you would by the time you got there....hell its a nice weapon but garg talon and wicked shank are 10 times better (at least for rogues)...by the time you get here you will prolly have at least one of the two, and this weapon is junk compared to them
RE: doubt it
# Feb 21 2004 at 12:51 AM Rating: Decent
Yes but if you read the posts on the Wicked Shank you'll also see that while stat wise it's a good weapon...the DoT is a big turn off. Totally ruins any chance of Escape should you need it.

well they made it better, but still...gettin a guild thru all the trials for 0 PoP progression...doubtful..would be nice for a farm mob tho
dumb?
# Feb 01 2003 at 7:51 PM Rating: Default
seems a tad dumb for a warrior to weild are hate reducing weapon....

More importantly, the aggro reduction of this proc isn't enough to reduce you on the hate list. It *is* enough, however, to negate the aggro from the other components of the effect (dd, stun). Thus, while a poor MT weapon, its excellent for other characters who would not want to get aggro over the MT.

Of course, none of this helps out the fact that this dagger isn't good enough to be worth getting people through all 6 trials to fight a fairly challenging mob not needed for planar progression.

As mentioned at other points on this site, barbarian lore pegs the Seventh Hammer as a Rogue rather than a Warrior. If this is true then the weapon does make sense.

guess it makes sense 2 me.

I would say this would be best for a bard, you can twist a few dots in on a mob and keep the agro off to increase your groups dps that way still, shrug only reason i find for anyone to use this type of weapon
KOJ and RB
# Jan 24 2003 at 3:24 PM Rating: Default
As a rogue I would truely love to get my hands on this Knife of Justice. In fact I would most likely put this in my primary and throw RB in secondary because it has the same 15 dmg as RB with a better speed of 20.
epics
# Jan 19 2003 at 10:05 PM Rating: Default
i do realise this has very little to do with the item, but i do see a good poin in here regarding epics. they really are outdated now with only a few eceptions, if u look in any uber guild u will see wars using weapons better then there epics. rangers no long really use eathcaller, we just keep swifty for the haste. i see some caster epics are still used, but thats just a few. i know some necros that pass on the uber death duck. and rogs have been using rage in 2nd slot for awhile now and alot are just starting to not use at all. then for the real biggie, the SK and pali epics, i mean really who uses those? with how hard the quest is u could get better off of mobs, heck u can get better i nthe bazaar for under 40k (atleast on my server fennin ro) i mean who wants natures defender over a windblade?
I may be st00pid..

It may be only me but wouldn't this be a good rogue weapon, im not real sure on the proc but it makes sense if it lowers the hate list. Rogues do a substantial amount with their backstabs which does aggro the mob, so that means when it procs it will make the mob less aggro to the rogue thus making it easier for the rogue to keep bs'in. My 2 cents worth.

nice knife
# Nov 05 2002 at 10:04 AM Rating: Decent
I hate to say it, but this really screams rogue. I mean 15 piercer is awesome for BS. I would say ranger too, but our pierce caps at 240 so it wouldn't be as good for us as a 1hs or 1hb of the same ratio... of which there are a few out there for us. Warriors might go on that list before rangers actually, if they weren't the MT... lets face it, how many MTs can you have on a raid??
#REDACTED, Posted: Nov 04 2002 at 10:30 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Look at any of the effects on Warrior Epic, EB weaposn or this...they are all agro increasers. Looks like a great weapon...now if it were only not a piercer.

Does hate reduction balance stun?
# Nov 04 2002 at 1:02 AM Rating: Default
Curious, is the hate reduction enough to offset the hate from the stun? What's the net effect on hate?
#REDACTED, Posted: Nov 04 2002 at 10:17 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I seem to remember reading on posts on other items that, when an effect says it lowers you on hate list, that actually means it makes the mob hate you more.
RE: Does hate reduction balance stun?
# Nov 05 2002 at 2:27 AM Rating: Default
When it says it reduced you on the hate list by a negative ammount you get raised. This effect reduces your agro by 200 points, and stuns the target. I don't know if the drop offsets the stun, but it definatly isn't as bad as a weapon that only stuns.
tired
# Nov 02 2002 at 6:37 PM Rating: Good
i am tired of DUMB people saying its not for this class or its for this class.... anyone who is listed on it can use it... yes the effect LOWERS hate but me as a warrior have 5 diferent weapons... 2 1handers with procs to keep agro 2 1handers with ratio to deal damage but NOT get agro and a 2hander for beserker crip hits or low riposte / dodge mobs no a warrior should not get FIRST choice but it is still a good weapon for a warrior to have
RE: tired
# Nov 11 2002 at 9:55 AM Rating: Good
Nobody but rogues in my guild would bid on this because rogue damag > all other melee damage and there are many more options for other classes. Anything else is possible but highly unlikely, because my guildmates are not idiots (most of them 0_0)

#REDACTED, Posted: Nov 01 2002 at 6:31 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) ok now if this is 15/20 i'm not too sure about this wouldn't that be better than the ragebringer? I mean come on? thats just sad. instead of doing a day long epic kill this guy and loot it
RE: wtf
# Nov 03 2002 at 8:06 AM Rating: Default
Heh... post epic items have been in EQ for 2 expansions... Even though they're better, the kills you get em off of are harder than doing an epic.

Anyone who is in a guild to take this guy on will have already built their gear up to a level far beyond having already obtained a Ragebringer.

You won't see Rogues foregoing doing their epic because it is, truly, a nice item aside from simply the ratio.

On another note.. just how long do you expect epics to last? ;)

Well yes, but the effect on Ragebringer is haste and ATK rating boost. This would be a nice weapon to go *with* a Ragebringer.
#REDACTED, Posted: Nov 01 2002 at 6:30 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) NOT a warrior weapon. Any warrior who says otherwise should look at the effect.
RE: I want one for m'ranger.
# Nov 01 2002 at 9:53 PM Rating: Default
Actually, this would be a very good warrior weapon, considering that that warrior was not the main tank. So =P hehe

Aye, I saw Stun Proc and immediately though it would be a great Aggro weapon, but it also lowers your aggro.

However, remember that the Warrior is not always trying to GET aggro. Sometimes you wanna do alot of damage with little aggro as well.
