Ever notice how you can barely see your hands in front of you, but your far clip plane is up all the way? its cuz of weather. I'm wondering...do they make these for snow too?
works

Can this be recharged? Maybe with a mana battery.
Firework Needed

You can only make these with the blazing comet firework. The other three will not combine.
I dont get it

It honestly Amazes me that so many people are so bothered by the rain that they will put time effort and money into making something like this. I just dont get it.

You will soon learn the advantages of this item when you are doing the 10th Ring War in The Great Divide. It it nessesary that you can see where the giants are from a long distance.

It also allows you to see giants that make a run to Thurg.

Safty... This is the one item a person can use of any class that will allow you to fix the problmes of vision due to the weather.

Just think of it a small grop of people with no druid, turns in a quest item and has waves of mobs about to attack and it starts to rain. This cuts the vision down and makes it more dangrous for the whole party. What do you do? Fire one of these off and make your parties safty better.

I am not sure about the code... but I feel there might be places in the game where SOE/Verant put in a trigers to start rain to make places more dangrous. If I had written this game I would do that. This item can save the day.

I'd rather have it keep raining or snowing cause I like to sneak by my enemies (In pvp this is IMPORTANT). Know if there's any items that can start a downpour?

Me thinx that this device absolutely rocks. Something of limited strategic value, but absolutely hilarious to be able to use. Now we won't have to keep yelling /ooc rain off (please) !!. Now, if we could just get something to stop the snow in DL?...

Happy and Safe Hunting

Finally other chars can stop the blasted, perpetual rain in SK. I hardly go to that zone anymore, but when I do Iwill definitely make sure to have 5 or 6 of these on me to make SK stop raining FOREVER!!! Muhahahahahaha!

Feeling like Sean Connery in the Avengers just now =)
Great

Just what we need. Druids and Gnome tinkers battling it out in the skys over Norrath for control of the weather.

of course...

With the ability to have lots of these about in a zone, lets watch the I'll stop the rain for XXX plat! Being auctioned all over.
Heh, and then multiple rockets lifting off giving that rain on, rain off, rain on effect.
Maybe a Ak'Anon missle treaty is in order.
Easy to make

I have a 31st lvl gnome mage that has over 200 tinkering,,This item is easy to make..all the components for the pieces needed to make it are store bought...I shall be making a ton of these :) Well good hunting and safe journey to all.

Nope... coiled springs and saltpeter are plane of innovation drops.

Coiled springs are also used in new high end tinkering... have to fight it out over who gets what. Low end skilling up tinkerers don't have much chance at this stuff unless they're a twink, get lucky and find some sold to a vendor, or manage to convince someone to sell it at a reasonable price.

you seemed to have forgotten the final possibility a gnome in a guild telling higher lvled players hey im the guilds tinker save me these parts so i can make this and distribute to the guild itll work everytime esp when there are good benis in it like the inovative cams a guild would totally help thier tinker with those cos those cams = good pop bows
Easy to make
# Nov 01 2002 at 11:36 AM Rating: Decent
And the saltpeter and coiled springs are common drops in PoT and also seen them on vendors in PoK(probably were sold to vendors by PCs)

Druids wait 56 levels to stop rain, now a twink alt lvl 1 Gnome can get these and give to anybody?
RE: Bah..
# Nov 03 2002 at 3:37 PM Rating: Default
I don't mind them giving this ability to others, I just hope they fix wake of karana to start the rain like it is supposed to if this actually will.

Actually, NO. If you study tinkering a bit, you'll find it's not available until level 16 and even then, it's level limited.

Besides, maybe it's easier to PL a druid to 56 than to get all the components needed for this?

Do druids now consider stopping the rain a class-defining ability?

Do druids now consider stopping the rain a class-defining ability?

ROFL - Sorry druids consider everything a class-defining ability. Dont believe me? Go read their posts on the dev boards. Too funny...

RE: Bah..
# Oct 31 2002 at 8:02 PM Rating: Decent
I'd be interested to know what class you play. Because as far as I can tell every class values it's UNIQUE abilities.

Wizards get timer put on MB - They all freak out and some claim they won't purchase it again.

Magicians have Mod Rod changed - they freak out.

Paladins hear Slay Undead may get nerfed - they freak out, some even call it a "class defining ability" that they can't do without.

Necromancers STILL whine about their nerf a couple of years ago.

Now tell me, what makes Druids complaining about something being done to an ability that previously only their class had, different?

The answer? Nothing. No one likes to see their individual abilities changed or given to others.

See? Druids ***** about anything, and everything.
Don't try to reason, don't try to understand...jus nod your head when they talk and move on.

Not sure where you get the fact that i was "************** from. I was merely explaining that every class in this game makes a fuss when one of their abilities is altered/given to others.

And on a side note, I think I see why you are unguilded.

also be interesting to note, tinkering is not exactly a commmon tradeskill for people to have, let alone have at a high enough skill elvel to make these things
RE: Bah..
# Nov 01 2002 at 7:52 AM Rating: Decent
I don't what it's like these days, but 2+ years ago, before I quit, Tinkering cost more to get to high level than even jewelcraft. Virtually no source of profit either, unlike jewelcraft, until a very high skill. You can't just buy most components at stores either like for jewelcraft.

OMG Lighten up...

If ever I read a reply that defined the limitness ability of a certain classes propensity to take something out of context blow it out of proportion... oh nm

Oh my.. a gnome tinker can now make it rain or stop it. With any luck all those quad-kiting train to zone Druid will delete and re-roll as gnomes.

...so now anyone with one of these can stop rain? Any word of whether or not it can be recharged?
