question.. my son took my phase spider carapice off my beast and replaced it with this..

did i get ripped off..

btw.. zero graphics on this item sux

Karloc if your son straight up traded it for the carapace I would say you definitely got ripped off. Phase spider carapace has no level restrictions on it(i.e. twinking); has a lot more class allowances(leather, plate and chain); and is also monk wearable(which tends to keep price up). Depending on which set of stats you would prefer is entirely up to you, but I would prefer a piece of gear with more variety of stats. That's just my 2cp....

What a price!

Just picked this up in the bazaar for 30pp. Yep, 30pp. Couldn't believe it, especially when others were selling for 6k. My BL and Dru are much too low to even wear this, but I can sell it and buy them a whole wardrobe, lol.
#REDACTED, Posted: Jul 11 2003 at 1:41 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Was in a factory group today (which was uber exp at 55 might I add)and one of these dropped. But, when some1 finally decided to loot the corpse it had very little time on it .... Ranger linked it and corpse disappeared =(

These sell for about 4k on Fennin. Pretty good price :)
Tree weave?
# Jan 15 2003 at 8:02 AM Rating: Excellent
I gave up my tree weave a long time ago, the only beasts wearing that are failed warriors (dons flameproof tunic), beast is not a TANK dammit.
Beast is a mixed class, capable of everything, but not the best at anything, so thats how I play it, I can heal (kinda :) ), buff, tank (for a while) but mostly I'm a warder for my pet.

I have a good mix of stats, mostly wis and str, I'm weak on resists (which needs fixing) and maybe I could use more AC/agi.

I still think this is way better than treeweave (which I drooled after at late 30's)

Just my 2 cents worth.

I can out tank a lot of people as a beastlord... I just can't taunt.

Im a 51 Beastlord 219wis and I would trade my Ice burrowers skin for this, I let pet tank while i debuff and blast away and last couple bubles come in to tank, thats the way I play my bst and has worked great for me. We ARE NOT made to tank anything past lvl 50, we get our *** handed to us without our warder so imo anything but wis and agil is useless

My sister in law (bless her soul) gave me this for x-mas. Im only level 31, but it still better than my Wu's Fighting Shirt =). It looks like green/brown leather, so dont expect to look ubah from wearing it. Still, it kicks.....

This has the same reddish leather look as the coterie armor from the vamps in TM and ME.

Good Tunic
# Oct 27 2002 at 11:36 AM Rating: Good
This is an excellent piece of equipment for the mid-high level dru/bst/monk.

By that i mean low to mid 50s. Not yet in velious armor, can't afford the 'uber' stuff, etc...

For the people than can actually get it, kinda low end. I expect to see this in the bazaar, probably around the 10k to 12k area. Why that price? Because that is the most that people in that level area are going to be able to afford.

And before you go all whining about how you had a fungi at level 3, remember that your level area is that of the HIGHEST char you have, not your alt twink's level.

All in all, a VERY nice item for exp grinding. Lack of saves means you will bank it for raids, but if you dont have a raid suit by level 50, you need to get off the stick and make one.
RE: Good Tunic
# Oct 29 2002 at 10:26 AM Rating: Decent
Hmm well a FizzleLord (AKA Bst) would probably get about the most use out of this...
Bst can use the AC/Str/Sta/Wis/HP/Mana.....and a Bst probaly has about the worst armour possibilities in the game....
as a Bst the AC is fine, but your really never going to have high AC...Bst needs to have high AGI, its best to just not get hit in the first place
I only have 924AC but have 208AGI and soon to be over 225AGI & 198 Dex.....If you can get your BSt Wis to 150 you have more than you will probably ever need, I only have 125 Wis and very rarely run out of mana.. esp if you can attain items that give Mana & or save Mana such as Flowing thought or whatever mana conservation....

2nd would be Monk....

Only reason they even added Druid into the mix on this was that droods wear leather, but any Drood over lvl 52 or so should be in UP getting Elysian gear anyway...

this isnt a bad chest piece for a bst, but really shouldnt be selling for much over 8K....
RE: Good Tunic
# Oct 31 2002 at 1:18 PM Rating: Decent
Oh believe me I've been in UP trying to get Elysian armor but the tunics don't exactly drop like ruined bear pelts there If I happen to see one of these for sale for a reasonable price I'll grab it in a second.

I guess you forgot, you moron, that some of us don't buy plat on eBay and can't afford a Fungi, which imho is overpriced. If you want the regen, there are other regen items out there. My monk currently owns this tunic, and it is awesome.

Quit your ******** goddamn. Either its been a long time since you updated your character, or your equipment just sucks. You have no room at all to talk. Also fungi is going for around 50k on the Rathe, guessing this will be about only 15k, unless prices are just up since PoP just came out. Like Kunark super high prices that lowered over time.

Not everyone is uber
# Oct 26 2002 at 7:20 AM Rating: Default
Being a monk is sometimes tough..... Not every item in the game is a monk item and shouldnt be, BUT not many good chest items for a monk that has saves except Vel quest armours. Im courently a lvl 54 monk, and all im using is grey flesh tunic. This has Better ac and a few extra stats. Just remember NOT everyone that plays is totaly decked out in the best gear. Everyone that says all items sucks is looking at it from the top 10% of the players in the game. Not all guilds can do Vex Thal or even Shissar. Alot of people will look as these new drops as nice upgrades until they can get better gear.

This item is not very good. That is my initial thought. At this level of the game saves have become very important. And even leving that little tidbit out of the equation, this STILL isn't a very nice item.

Sure STR is needed by every class just to carry loot. STA is looked highly upon by every class by virtue of it's HP gaining effect. WIS is gobbled up greedily by casters of that slant and both HP and MANA are always helpful to just about everyone.

But looking at this item as a whole...seems a series of tradeoffs for each and every class that could use it. Now this is just my initial impression. I may be wrong, but not enough AC or HP for Monk or BST and not enough MANA or WIS for a Druid.

As always, I may be wrong and will graciously accept any corrections here.

I agree, for the level and effort to attain the item most people of the three classes that can wear it would probably have something better. It is droppable though and could be a decent item for a higher level Druid or Monk who doesn't raid. For better or worse it is hard to beat a Treeweave for a Beastlord, at probably 1/10th the cost this would run.

i hate to break it to ya.. treeweave is pretty junky compared to this. first piece of advice, HP > ALL. need it on raids, from AEs or riposte damage or when u get agro. need soloing when u get hit. need in groups from ripostes or when u get agro or get hit pulling. second, 7 raw AC is not a huge loss, especially for the other stats you gain. third, if you are a BST or Dr00d wis and mana never hurts, although a druid by 55 should have elysian, i admit tunic is a rare drop, and wont need it, and monks can get better.. but beastlords have few good armor choices, and this is definately up there for droppable BST tunics at a reasonable price.

btw, good even at low levels.. have one on my 28 BST and is pretty nice.

sorry but not all beastlords wear treeweave. thing this has over most others is hp/mana wis/sta/str. ac doesnt help much when your getting hit for 130s anyways.
my bst tries to keep his hp/mana pool over 1700 and even at 53 still does a good job at pet cleric/melee when he needs too.
