Planes of PowerWell I just picked this up today for 600pp in the bazaar on Povar... I got a 41 ranger with maxed out 1HS and I can't go above 200 until post 50 so I decided to start with a new weapon.. With the low delay and extra poison dam this works great..

I bought one of these in the Bazaar on Rodcet Nife. Didn't realize it was from plane of nightmare; is that a PoP zone? Don't remember it as one of the old planes. If it is a PoP zone, and I was able to buy the item and put it in my (shared) bank slot, then does that mean that I will be able to equip it even if I don't have PoP? That would be somewhat of a surprise, though a pleasant one...

You should be able to use it. "PoP required" just means that you need PoP to obtain (loot) the item.

That is you class/lvl Damage modifier that you are thinking of. It would be different for each class/lvl that looked at it.

Until you get to the really high end stuff, this is a great weapon any class that can use it would be glad to have. As a warrior, normally peircers aren't preferred above level 50 because piercing caps below other types of weapons. At 9/19 plus the 2 poison damage, however, it actually comes out to a higher dps then when I use my Defiance in mainhand - even with the lower piercing skill. This comes from 12 hours of parsed logs fighting in PoJ jail against same mobs with same buffs. I dont lose anything switching out my defiance, stats wise b/c the Spear also has 10ac +hps (which Defiance doesnt have) my str is always maxed and with HoS or focus my Dex is either maxed or close enough that it doesnt matter.

It has the primal appearance, looks really nice, plus if the mob doesn't resist poison the weapon is a 11/19 which is not half bad. I bought one for 1K on Luclin after not seeing one after numerous trips to that area. Two nights ago we pulled only 2 of the mobs that drop it and they both had one (we were just passing through), last night killed at least 20 of them none dropped, not sure how rare a drop it is. I still like it and have almost maxed out my piercing skill.
Won this yesterday. Very nice weapon. Since my piercing is about 190 I'm replacing my lammy with this until I can get Earthcaller. The AC, HP and mana are a welcome bonus to my Ranger. Although I am going to have trouble keeping this thing and not selling it in the bazaar, I saw 2 for sale yesterday on Sol Ro for 20k and 30k. Not sure if they sold or the trader logged but they werent up for long. /shrug waaaaay over priced I thought. but maybe I can get that amt then buy it back in a week at 5k.

We were camping the slargs and hobs for mostly for xp the other day, kinda exploring, but found a good pull spot on these. Were there for about 4-5 hours and got two drops. While may not be uber, is still a fun weapon. Seen a couple older piercers with the same graphic... basically looks like a typical polearm. Saw a guy the other night using an equisite velium piercer of some sort that had the same graphic.
BTW, you'll know if the Slarg's have it, they'll be dual weilding the regular fishing spear and this.

Though the initial stats may be below epic or uber mob lewts. It still fuctions as a very solid weapon for Beastlords for a few reasons:
1- AC 10: Beastlords, especially Iksar ones, have very low ac armor choices. The 10 AC boost here would be more than welcome.
2- Delay: They delay on this is great! Low enough so that our dmg bonus is applied more frequently so it should up your DPS.
3- Resists: You can never have too many of these.
The other stats are quite nice. The only downside to this is that Beastlord peircing is capped lower than h2h, so you would be losing attck there. Other than that though, very soild weapon given you don't have better.

Drops off slarghilug's in PoN. These roam around, we killed a few near the Hobgob pit.

This is gonna be the rage for Rogues I'd imagine. I'm guessing at LEAST 8k for this unless it's really easy to get.
I'm a rogue and I would not use this. If someone gave it to me I'd give it to a younger rogue.

Well my rogue , who is under the recommended lvl uses one of these , I use it and swap it out with my Jagged Ice Shard. Not going to go into the math on it , but I can rarely tell the difference on backstabs , both hit for 220-240 backstab at lvl 42 pretty consistantly , and the lower delay than the JIS make for nice swift kills .

Probably wouldn't put down my fungus beast spine for this, or the shaded dagger I used before. Nice ratio, and the strength is a bonus, but the damage 9 makes it not very effective as far as stabbing goes. There are a lot of weapons now with damage 10, 11, even 12 that are under 2-3k.

Dont feel forlorned about not seeing anything yet. Evidentally they have made the drops all about at the Rare lvl to get them so that we dont have people farming them left and right. Quest items drop frequently but Gear such as this not quite that often as others would like. IE Mini Raids to attain these things for them selves with expectations on camping up there for at least 3 ot 4 hours some times to get the drop. I was in night mare 5 hours last night and only saw 3 drops the whole night. Was good EXP wiht the following.
