With a wind-worn hand blade in my primary, would I be better off with this or a Stained Axe of the Scions in my offhand? Is the added attack of the scions an improvement enough to make my damage output greater given the chance of the magic damage modifier to be resisted? Thanks
I just replaced my stained axe of the scions with this last night, with a sword of the bloodsworn as my primary. I definately think that it's going to be better off. As far as losing vengeance II, it's not THAT much atk, only 10 so it's not a huge deal.
Why is it so expensive? Simple, Vhaksiz the Shade is a 3 day spawn. He only seems to drop this about 1 out of every 5 spawns if that. To kill the shade you will need a mini raid as he has a substantial number of hp and hit's like a truck. Oh and did I mention that to get to him you have to either run and FD or fight your way thru no less then 50 see invis hobgoblins and mephits. Could have a mage CoTH you but I can't see a mage soloing thru the those caves without one hell of a fight. With bard speed and levitation you can make it thru the tunnels if you don't stop to catch your breath just make sure you don't agro the Gloom Nightmares (nightmare steeds) when you exit the cave or you'll be heading right to the hedge for a quick zone out. The only reason I see anyone killing this MOB is to loot his heart for one of the combat manauls towards their "Secret of the Planes" manual. If you are looking to pick up this blade your best bet is to buy it from a player.

Prolly just because of the rarity. There are better 1HS you can buy for less pp. The Magic bane damage probably makes it a valuable weapon for some of the specific high level planes mobs.
Bane damage is damage added only against certain mobs. Magic damage as it applies to this weapon is damage added to the regular damage versus any monster. The magic damage can be resisted and a roll is made on each hit to see if the damage is resist or not. Certain mobs are more resistant than others so that damage may never land on certain critters, but effectively it's a 15/20 sword which is AWESOME!
Got this for 45k on Inny server for my 55 warrior. Just for kicks i used it on my main 65 ranger and crits for 171. compaired to epic 160 have to say that the magic bonus kicks in, on most mobs the +3 magic damage works. With that super expensive cloak of flames, fleshgrinder mainhand and this weapon offhand very effective combo. super slick with chanter SoV haste buff too.
Got one of these on Fennin Ro yesterday. I put in offhand because delay is a little high for a warrior (im a speed freak). What can i say? when you come across a mob with low magic resist, which happens a lot, even more so with tash etc, this thing performs like a miniture Blade of Carnage. While it isn't as reliable as a solid 15 damage weapon, it still hits very hard. I hit solidly with it for 60-80 damage per swing with crits near 150. FRom what i can tell this is a pretty rare weapon as well. First ive seen on fennin since PoP came out. While the stats arent amazing, the damage output makes up for it. A good investment for those who like high damage, fast weapons but cant afford the top of the line items.
Took down this mob 3 or 4 times now, each time we killed him he dropped the icky greaves and the nice shoulder item and of course the heart. Been after this weapon for a long time, just wish it would drop. I've resorted to looking to buy this weapon even though I know I will be going back to kill the mob, the drop rate on the sword, that I have seen, is awful. :p
I've been using this now on my Ranger for a few weeks and found in place of one of my faster Tox axe's it seems to do two things, one actually kill the mobs I'm attacking before I die and two hits more often for some reason with better damage by far, dunno why cause it's not that big a differance from my Tox Axe but using it in place of one in my off hand seems to be a great benfit, I love it, worth every coins of the 45k I paid for it in the bazaar.
How can you compare a 9 / 19 to a 15 / 20 (on most mobs) ?? That just doesnt make sense.
This is 12 / 20 with 3 magic damage so on majority of mobs it is 15 / 20. At this level if mobs have high MR they get debuffed anyway so it still hits 15 / 20.

you heard wrong. only the dmg bonus is applied afterwards. bane, magic, fire, cold, poison, disease, etc, are all added before. the difference is that bane is unresistable by the specified mob type, and the "magicals" are resistable
great wep for any listed class, if you're gonna get into usage of stat modifiers, i'd say ranger would be highest due to wis, mana, rest of mods are used by all or none
At the level needed to get this, it will probably be defaulted to someone who needs it. I doubt anyone wont need it, so its not like someone is going to loot it for twinking or selling, making the recommended level no concern.
Actually a lammy doesn't start to out damage a wurmy till post 55. It takes a very large damage bonus to make up the difference in a 1.6 and a 2.12 ratio. The only way a lammy will out perform a wurmy before that is if your fighting a mob that you consistently hit for minimal damage.
Just in case you didn't know this. Recommended lvl does NOT actually affect the dmg on a weapon even though it says so in stats. My ranger has been hit for full dmg with both his weapons and he is 35 and the rec lvl is 60. Try it out if you don't believe me.

I have to agree with ewew for the time being. This stuff is so new it will be a long time before every that can use will have it (and all the upper lvl guilds able to attain this usually do need b4 greed). So it will be a long time before ppl get their alts hooked up then they will start selling. Of course, you may see centi/lammy prices drop a few hundred pp cause of ppl not needing them anymore, but prices will still be about the same for a while.

trips for almost 1200 can not be slowed. He is a SK has HT casts Assytole and boil blood (might be procs) He can shadowstep and will then summon and butcher somebody. He is not easy to get to and there are no shortcuts. PON is a roach motel for melee so bring evacers. Not sure of your guilds strength, but I guess a vindi capable force would suffice. We killed him with 18 two days ago, but today he seemed to have been upgraded.
