Where do you acquire the beginner combat manual quests?

The power source is for the Intermediate Combat Manual. This is the third of the planar manual quests if one follows the combat quest path.

i would say its for a quest also but until i find wich il hang on to it .. heh
Well, being a master of the obvious, it seems to me that this is going to be an ingrediant for a quest. However, I have not yet been able to find the quest as of yet -- surely some one wants to rid the plane of this beast, and would pay handsomely (reward) for this item :-)

I would say this is for the Nitram Anizok quest. He needs an intact powersource found in this zone. haven't been there to confirm this but if anyone has please post here.

CHA CHING! ok, this shows that this power sourcee is part of a quest. Specifically, the beginner planar COMBAT manual, in the step after the bloodbrew or whatever. here is dialogue:
Xasri Virek says 'Welcome my student. I see you have brought with you the Beginner's Manual. If you are ready for your next lesson, the task is simple. A vicious terror has awoken somewhere in the Plane of Innovation. You must seek out the Junk Beast and bring me its power source along with your Beginner Combat Manual. Doing this will prove your battle courage above all else. Remember, the gem cannot be polished without friction, nor man or lizard perfected without trials. I wish you luck.'
