The bane DMG of this weapon for Seru is only 6, not 8. I made one today.
Range?
# Jun 10 2003 at 1:07 AM Rating: Default
Anyone else notice that this thing has a range of 40? Does that mean that you can be 40 away from mob and still hit it? If so, you could root the mob, stand far enough away to not get hit, and slowly demolish it. Just my 2 cp.
RE: Range?
# Jun 21 2003 at 12:53 AM Rating: Decent
No, that means if you have it in your range slot you can throw it and hit (or miss) at range 40, just like any other range weapon (other weapons having differing ranges of course). And before you ask, no you can not recover a thrown weapon, so if you throw it, it's gone forever.
#REDACTED, Posted: Jul 11 2003 at 2:47 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Its only gone forever if you don't loot it back from the mob you threw it at. :)

To make the Yttrium Mace you need to combine:

1 Oak shaft
1 Mace head mold
1 Quicksilver temper
1 Yttrium Steel sheet

I did my combine in shadowhaven

"Does Bane Dmg: Seru cover ordinary Shissar mobs like your average Snakeguy in Ssra and maybe Rhag 1 and 2?"

'Bane Damage: Seru' damages Seru.
'Bane Damage: Shissar' damages Shissar.
Any other questions?

Bane damage is damage added to the base damage of the weapon when fighting the type of mob you have bane damage towards. For a simple way to prove this create a cleric and level until your first hammer summoning spells, it has bane damage vs. undead on it, if you hit an undead mob you will do more damage than against a regular mob. Thus when fighting Seru this weapon would be a 21/21 mace. I have yet to fight a mob that is immune to all but bane damage, but from what i gather on other posts about yttrium/corrupt shissar weapons a normal weapon will do nothing, but a bane damage will do the full normal + bane damage, thus fighting Lord Inquisitor Seru this *should* be a 21/21, If i ever get the chance to try this out i will be sure to post and let the truth be known to all =)

Thx for the information guys, still haven't picked a fight with the big guy, but someday perhaps. As to dmg bonus Tinial, yes it is 11 at level 60, but delay is not a factor for 1 handed weapons, thus any 1 hander will have a dmg bonus of 11 if you are level 60 =) (this also assuming you are a melee char of course, as casters do not get a damage bonus)

Actually no.

LiS is completely immune to normal weapons the same way a wisp is immune to non-magical weapons. The bane damage is the only portion of the damage that applies, making melee largely moot in this fight except for crowd control. Go fight him and see what you see. The weapon is 8/21 for all intents and purposes against Seru himself.

As I have been told having no first hand info on battles with LiS the info I have had passed onto me is only the bane damage actually inflicts any damage but bane weapons hit for a minimum of 20points every hit. Now if its true they hit for min 20 damage every hit when run thru a parser it would then appear that the weapons are doing more damage then just the bane damage listed. The only way I guess we will ever know is If a reputable guild leader from one of the top Guilds like Afterlife ,Fires of Heaven ,Da'kor etc Would post there finding ie a log of damage messages as well as parser info the would show us all the damage output of these weapons.

The reason it seems to hit harder than what the dmg says is because you forgot about the dmg bonus. On a 20 delay weapon I think its around 11 at lvl 60. Plus the bane dmg of 8 would be right around the 20 number you were getting. =)

seru and the emperor are 100% immune to all melee damage besides bane damage, on normal mobs yes the bane damage is added to base to get a new base damage.

What about the bane damage?
# Oct 03 2002 at 5:51 PM Rating: Good
I have heard that you need yttrium weapons to take on the Lord Inquisitor.

I would guess that this weapon (normally a 13/21) weapon becomes a respectable 21/21 against seru mobs?

Or is it only the bane part of the dmg that will actually effect mobs like the Lord Inquisitor? In which case Xalpus would be right in calling it an 8/21 weapon.
Not that bad
# Oct 03 2002 at 5:35 PM Rating: Default
actualy this dmg/dly isnt half bad, 13dmg 21dly is ratio of 1.6, plus 8bane dmg. That isnt to bad, i mean whoever will be takin this guy out will h ave weapons that are WAY better and might not even compare, but it isnt THAT bad. Hell, I'd take one as a lvl 52 monk.
#REDACTED, Posted: Oct 03 2002 at 7:30 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) The bane makes the whole weapon bane against Seru. so it will be 21/21 against Seru only............idiots
RE: RETARDS
# Oct 03 2002 at 8:12 PM Rating: Decent
yea. try and get a life. calling everyone "RETARDS" and "idiots" are pretty stupid things to do, especially when youre wrong. and even if you were right, the "RETARDS" and "idiots" are defenitally not neccessary. say it politely, and maybe some day, i wont look down on you as a person with the maturity of a 5 year old.
#REDACTED, Posted: Oct 03 2002 at 11:00 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Oh and I'm not wrong reguarding bane damage...It makes the whole weapon hit for FULL damage not just the bane....ask a GM SO don't tell me cause you probably never even seen him in person.
Ahem
# Oct 03 2002 at 11:03 PM Rating: Decent
A GM wouldn't tell you anything about that. As that is game content, and a game secret... Don't say things that you cannot back up.

Only the bane damage applies when you fight Seru. The delay stays the same so its an 8/21 weapon against him, 13/21 against normal mobs. The Shissar Emperor is similar but only Shissar bane weapons worth with him.

#REDACTED, Posted: Oct 03 2002 at 6:05 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I'm sorry. I thought bane dmg was added to the base dmg and that is your total dmg for use against those kind of mobs...I mean, I know their are shield spells to give temp immunity against attacks, but they only absorb so much dmg. And so far as I know, NO mobs are 100% immune to dmg period, ecxcept for the magic/non-magic thing.
RE: Not that bad
# Oct 03 2002 at 7:23 PM Rating: Good
There are a couple of mobs, Lord Seru and the Shissar Emporer, who are immune to weapon damage.
Therefore, they are only damaged by bane weapons a normal weapon does 0 damage to them.
#REDACTED, Posted: Oct 03 2002 at 5:25 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I know someone's gonna flame this weapon, but to put in something: you MUST have Seru Bane weapons if you plan on raiding Lord Inquisitor Seru... he will not be hurt by anything but weapons like this. And if it wasn't bad enough, the ratios on the weapons aren't that great, like this one... 8/21 against one of the toughest sobs on Luclin...
