he's talking about either the ingot or the icon..maybe both, not the actual guants. and both ingot and icon are no drop and MQ is definitely not worth it.
Some wingnut said that he did a Price Check and was told they are worth 900pp on Prexus. That isn't a good basis to say that they are worth that amount. Gauntlets of the black are better and can be used by more classes. They sell for about 900pp. These are worth 200 to 300pp on most any server.
Actually, I can halfway understand the thinking. These would be fill-in items for stats that these classes don't think about in the beginning. Later, they'll find items that cover pretty much every stat, but for now, these might help to bridge the gap. I know my Dhar Khura of the 20th Whisper is wishing for Dx big time. Sure, he has a spell, but it's real nice to not have to buff just to get up to 97.
If you are questing these because they are the best you can get for your 100+ plat (price of the plat bar), then by all means get them. However, I certainly wouldn't spend 500pp on these, particularly since gauntlets of the black are now selling under 1kpp. These are not bad, but gaunts of the black are much better cleric hands. I have all the pieces of the quest armor except for arms and hands, and this is the only one that I don't plan to get. As soon as I find gull skytalon up, I'm done with sol ro armor quests for my cleric.
Every class that wears plate armor gets the same deal, Round 20 AC on the BP, 9 AC on the Bracers...and such. Each of them also has their own specific set, All the Different Cleric pieces, Darkforge for Shadow Knights, Lambent for Bards, Crafted for Warriors...And it was meant to raise almost every stat and resistance that you have. Over all each set is good, even if it doesn't shoot the Clerics Wisdom throuh the roof, SK's Strength and Intelligence...They all have Very good AC for the level the pieces can be attained, and each class has their own Distinct look, Clerics being gold, SK's Black and red, Bards Blue...Really neat looking. The only reason that people down this stuff is because their level 59 So-and-so can go get them items that will raise thier perfered stat through the roof =\ So What? Not everyone has a level 50+ So-and-So! Unless you are a major twinker or have alot of high level friends. All the armor for the mid levels is Good Stuff! So By all means, Go get it! It is a ton of fun, you get alot of xp from the adventuring and the quests themselves, and you get to see a BUNCH of new zones you may have not seen before =)
Just my 2cp
level ?? So-and-So Some server --Some guild-- "Immagine a really good quote here"
Befallen just recently got a face-lift and is now a wee-bit tougher to get around in. If the Gnome nec on the 3rd floor hasn't been moved to somewhere else, this quest will be much harder to obtain than the posted lvl recommended. My girlfriend is a lvl 17 cleric and we will try for this reward soon, but im bringing my 32 SK and a small army of others with me to do it. Hopefully we can get in and out with no problem using the well and port method. Good luck to everyone.
Don't know when it happened, but all the Dark Elves have gona and the place is normal again... First floor is Rats and Skeletons again, and the rest is also normal
Befallen was changed for a bit for a GM event that lasted almost 2-3 weeks. Now it's back to what it's supposed to be; a low-level dungeon for lowbies.

35 is a drasticly high lev to obtain compared to actual ability. My wife is a cleric and we got hers 2 days ago. All we needed was a 24 Cleric, a 23 Warrior, and a 21 warrior. Clerics putting of this quest till 35 as listed will find that it lacks chalenge and are unlikely to even still get exp for the kills involved. Good luck
I decided last night out of sheer boredom alone .. and the fact that I had 3 bars of enchanted plat left as I was going to get the full set but stopped after boots legs bracers. Anyway out of boredom I camped him last night. At lvl 35 he was green but I did get exp from him... granted not much but some :) His nukes are unfriendly though did over 200 damage. For a cleric with only around 650 hp.. that's not nice :P. I didn't even bother buffing here evrything was way green cept him.
I understand your frustration, as I too have had both shaman and clerics with this armor and wondered why the low +wis stats...
But keep this in mind. These sets were put in the game to replace Rubicite, which except for the breastplate had NO stat bonuses or effects. So considering that, what little we do get for this armor is better than what it replaced.
Basically I consider this armor is filler between low level stuff like banded, and your high level stuff like plane/Velious. Most of the time you will not acutally wear a whole suit of this (at least I don't). There are a lot better +wis items out there that you can get. It is very nice armor though for the amount of time I think. And I think the quests are kind of fun =)
Is it just me or does the Cleric armor show a significant shortage of wis boost? It appears that only the bracers have any wisdom stats. You would think that as a Cleric they would concentrate on wisdom instead of agility.
yup, we only get 10 wis in our quest gear, but Shammy's only get 5 in total. I think we got the better deal actually.
ps. I don't care that I have better armor than this stuff on me, I'm still working towards the full set, sheild and weapon included. it's a status symbol, it looks great (especialy on my lil hobbit), and I'm going to wear it to special occasions.
Gloves are notoriously difficult to get high wisdom on, its true of all three wisdom casters. Go do an item search for "<whatever race> cleric gloves wis." I got around 16 items *in the game.* Druids clocked in with one more at 17. Shamans got 11! Please note all these numbers include a fair number of all/all items that are good for everyone.
I don't know about the rest of the suit, let me take a look. But gloves with wisdom are very rare. Heck, my 44th level druid still has her Splitpaw Hide gloves, and she's been using those since someone gave them to her at level 5.
Actually, I'm pretty happy to get all the AGI I can get, I really enjoy not getting hit when I'm aggroed in a hairy situation so that I can actually get a heal off on the tank who's about to die. It's tough to root and atone when you're being hit twice per cast time too.
