These do NOT drop off basilisks in Undershore. Wasted about 45 minutes before I figured that out.

you can farm plenty eggs at 2700 400 in lava

This LOC works, 50 eggs in 45 minutes
Called "a magma basilisk warrior" they drop quite often, sometimes 2 per kill.

Basilisk eggs are not found on the basilisks in the ButcherBlock or the Rathe Mountains...

These do not drop off of A Cave Basilisk in Jaggedpine. They do drop off of the Genitors though, up to 5 at a time. I have spent a good amount of time farming these for baking recipes and have yet to see one drop off the plain basilisks.

The Basiliks Egg will also drop off of the basilisk hatchling over by where all of the undead spawn.They will make 15 doughs every time.
The "Basilisk Egg" can be used by Bakers to make the following items: Clump of Dough, Egg Batter, Noodles, Omelette Du Fromage and Ranger's Omelet.

Actually, the basilisk eggs yields 8 omelette Du Fromage. I just did combine and sure enough. omelette is a hearty meal so it should last awhile.
must be an uncommon to rare drop on these boys in BB too. I've smushed like 5-6 dozen lowland basilisks with no eggs.... bah having more luck foraging aviak eggs...

These eggs seem to be a bit uncommon, at least on lava basilisks. I've been in lavastorm for just over an hour and have about 5 eggs. 'Course, that's 75 clumps of dough, so I guess it's not that bad :)
These sell for some decent coin, about 9g, which is great for lower levels when money is tight.
A correction and some addendi:
Cave Basilisks in JPF dont drop the egg, its the CB genitors...
As for tradeskilling:
The eggs are not only used in OdF, its also a great way to make clumps of dough. The looted ones yield 15 (combined with milk and flour) and will last you untill cookies go trivial (round 105 or so)
And as Sullivon staded: Which quest for crying out loud?
