druids are one of the main soloing classes, there not that great in groups. They are sorta like bards cauz they have almost all talents but suck at them. Btw snare on those gauntlets wont stick on 50+ mobs.
I got this in the bazzar for 250p was great I aug it cause it has the lvl spell so I go to try to use it it don't work. Come here to find out that I can't use a lvl 1 spell to save mana till 45... hmm. oh well the 9ac is cool for lvl 25. just wish they would have put a higher lvl snare spell on it.
are these really worth getting or any other piece really except for arms and legs i know they good bp ahh thats alright but i just wonder if they are worth getting to waste my precious glove space (split paw hide gloves ;) hehe) well my 2cp
I kill too many green mobs to count, for tradeskill ingredients. I am so sick of hitting something twice and having it run off at top speed, making me need to chase it or cast a spell and waste mana on it. These will make my life sooo much easier.

I got these for free as a gift, so, I can't complain about them. They look good and if I'm OOM, then they will come in handy for a little while after clicking on the Vambracers Drones of Doom (also a gift he he). But, I still have a few Lvls to go before I find out for sure if they are worth having or if I'll end up selling them )
I was doing my daily selling in Surefall and I found them at the vendor for 536pp. I ran to the bank and pulled the cash.. i wont be able to use them till im What level 50?.. Im getting there..Just hit level 39 today.. Im also working on the rest of my gear.. I will grow up someday.

Could anyone tell me if Beastlord can really wear? I have talked to many Druids and they say no please verify whether Beastloards can use. If you are on Mith Mar I would like to by a pair.

Yes, one existing class, which happens to be the single most popular, now gets to compete with a whole new class for the same already very rare equipment. Thanks VI you lazy scumbags. Aside from that WTF are they thinking? A shaman based class wearing druid gear?!?! These guys remind me of those dazed transients you see in the streets shouting at imaginary flying pigs, thats how much sense these idiots are making with this. Now we get to watch beastlords run around casting RotG and Circle of Misty after putting in countless months medding alone to reach the level required to get this stuff. Everytime I think that VI has done something right they turn around and act like MORONS, back to DAOC again I guess.
Uh.. no. All the Druid armor was accidentally tagged as BST useable in Allakhazam's database, and they are trying to change them back to the way they used to be.

if theres anyone out there who thinks these suck, boy have you got it backwards! Most of the ES Pieces are 2 ac less than FS Plate.... and I wouldn't call that sucking for a druid! Castman, 22 Wood Elf druid
Its true, these have a longer cast time, shorter duration than ensnare, but think of it this way....0 mana. I use these to solo, the difference between using snare and ensnare is you just refresh after every cast, (and why not, its free mana) thereby allowing me to keep a better spell such as another DoT to use. Here is a little secret from a High Level druid. Drones of Doom line of spells do stack. Its probably a bug, but you can cast Drones of Droom and then Winged Death (at level 53) and they stack on top of each other, I replaced ensnare with DoD and now kill the mobs much faster. Here is my formula:
Pull to safe location by casting cancel magic. Cast root. Right click Gaunts. Drones of Droom. Right click Gaunts. Cast Winged Death. Right click Gaunts. Refresh root as needed. Sure it takes a little more work by right clicking more often, but I cant imagine mind numbing soloing without these.
This gear has great spells, and yes if they made the effect ENSNARE, It would never leave my inventory. There are so many different applications to this gear, the greaves give you a mana free heal 100 points at a time. (good soloing) The helm invisibility for those wonderful group runs with melee's, why waste the mana because they lose invis every 10 seconds. The boots, manafree levitate traveling (and keeps you from having to waste a spell slot)...need I say more. Take 1 trip to KC through Dreadlands, and Ill guarantee you would want these boots.
The gear could be better, but when you look at the applications, they really arent half bad. Its all in the creativity of how you use them. These were designed for conventional use, but they can be used in unconventional ways.
Actually, the only reason why they stack is because Winged Death is over 50 and there is an exception to the rules that Verant placed in that allow spells of the same type to overlap if one is above level 50 and the other is below level 50. If you try to stack Drones with any other spell of the same type under level 50, it will not work.
Actually that is now wrong info. I use Drifting death, drones of doom, immolate, and creeping crud on mobs all the time soloing. One of the patches left it so they all stack with each other. Dont believe me (like most) then cast them on yourself starting with your highest dot. The patch that changed this is the same one that lets 2 dots of the same type stack when casted by 2 different players (like 2 druids casting drones). Makes soloing just that much better for druids!

HEY! your right...but the effects on these boots can only be cast if your level 45 or higher...the next DoT of the DoD line type is Winged Death. Besides...I was posting to get people to think about the use of items in different ways, not just sit around and whine about the effects.

Speaking as a 52 Mage myself, I regularly use and find a lot of use in the reclaim energy from my Foci.
If you are going to lose the pet, it is often far better to reclaim and recast than try to heal. While maybe with the new infusion with luclin (supposed to be around SHeal level for our pets), which I haven;t got, we can effectively heal our pets, but at 52 prior to this combat healing was not an option.
While I admit that there could be better effects (I would kill for a right click summon companion), Reclaim Energy is far from useless.
With SoW on there have been many times that reclaiming my pet just before death, running and then recasting pet, has allowed me to win a fight I would have been gating (with that last sliver of mana) if I didn't get back about 80% of the mana needed to call a pet with Reclaim.

The ONLY good thing about this item is it saves a slot in your 8 gem slots. This item is a pos. I would never buy this and it is worth 50p imo. Gnome skin gloves/split paw are better then this POS! ensnare costs 35mana and takes less then half the time to cast. It only wears off after about 10 minutes too. With regular snare you are lucky to get 1 min 30 secs b4 it wears off. I can't believe verant put these pos gloves in the game, even before kunark came out these are worthless! I mean come on, someone at your company should've figured out this these items arn't worth s*** especially 45+. If you put ensnare on them it might be more useful but the 35mana it saves you from ensnare is still barely messurable, it doesn't even show up when I cast it on a mob on my mana bar. Anyone who says this is useful is A, retarded, B,a n00b/new to the game, or C,trying to act like he knows what he's talking about when he has no idea and has probably never played any class except a lvl 6 warrior who keeps dying because he cannot figure out how to use hotkeys or go any faster then walking.

These take 5.5 seconds to cast, not 8 or 10 seconds
You will be killing your group much more than saving them with these when the mobs break root and attack them, use ensnare it uses little mana. These dont even save mana becasue you need to cast this 4 times instead of one ensnare. 4 casts at 10seconds a cast = 40 seconds- 5 seconds to cast ensnare = 35 seconds you could be medding and with clarity on thats way more than 15 mana gained. It is much better to ensnare and then root by the way not root first. All of the 50+ Druids I know only have these for walking around in the tunnel for the look.
I am a level 46 wood elf druid in CT server. Bought these for 1.5k
For soloing, I simply root, right click ES gaunts, dot, rinse and repeat. Dead mob. Easy as pie.
Now maybe on a level 50 mob the snares might not stick as long, but that remains to be seen. Why would I want to solo for exp that much in the 50's anyway? Aren't the mobs much more dangerous to solo at level 50?
My point is even though this snare costs 15 mana to cast regularly, that last 15 mana saved might be good enough to save one of my group mates from death. Or it would be the last 15 mana required to hit Evac. Or the self gate port. The 9ac helps too. I'd rather have this until oh maybe Imbued Elven Chainmail Gloves or better.

So you will need to cast about 4 to 6 times to kite something that gives exp above level 45. You will never get the cast off in time on a mob chasing you unless they are already snared (if they are ensnared this won't stick). If they are standing around just sit for a few seconds to save up the mana to cast ENsnare. I would never not have ensnare memmed because of these as you would have to put on ensnare later anway because this spell drops so quick (might last 15 seconds on 50+ mobs). If you are out of mana you are better off running that trying to use this, because these gaunts suck! Snare is a lowbie spell, and with the super slow cast time ...well it sucks. Did I mention these suck?
They are worth so much because they free up a spell slot. Snare works just like Ensnare... except it wears off after awhile. Anyway, it frees up a spell slot, I will probbaly put a buff there, so its good.
Does a high level Druid still use Snare? If so, would this not prove invaluable?
This essentially frees up a slot for a more powerful spell... Doesn't it?
Drag-and-drop the item slot to your command menu and right-click when you need it...
Call me crazy, all the ES items sound sweet to me. (And, yes, I realize that I am not a Druid. It just seems that this would work the same as Mrylokar...)
The Effect On These Things Should be, ENSNARE, Since If You Look At It This way: ES Vambracers: Drones of Doom, Level 34 Druid spell ES Guantlets: Effect: Snare, Level 1 Druid Spell
So Whats Up With Casting A Level 1 Spell That Takes Like 10 Mana, Cost 0 Mana With A Longer Casting Time, And Less Duration Of Effect?! I Wouldnt Mind Spending 10mana At level 45! Then Look At The Price Of These! They Go For 2k To 4k! I Dont understand Why You Would Spend 4000pp for these When You Can Spend 5gp For The Snare Spell! Especially At Level 45.
So ya, These Things Are junk, HOWEVER, I Still Wouldnt Mind Owning A Pair =P

it is common drop off Hangnail and all u got to hope for is him to spawn. my group got 2 pairs in about 1hr in Karnor's last night so it is more like common or uncommon drop.
Unfortunately these gloves are not very satisfying the way they function right now. The snare effect casted by them doesn't have a quarter of the duration the level 1 spell Snare cast by a level 5 druid has and it takes even the gauntlets longer to get the spell off then if casted regularly. Considering you have to be level 45 to use them, only to have the casting being interrupted or the mob already pounding on you because the timeframe in which the mob is approaching you is too short, these gaunts are junk. I put in a /feedback about that to shorten the cast time or lengthen the duration. If neither of this happens they will land on the junk pile.
Camped the hand room today for 13 hours with maybe 4 decent drops all day. My gauntlets being the last decent thing. Not sure if I really like them. Each time I went to snare, I felt like wonderwoman using her magical armbands and that stupid theme song would pop in my head. The ac is very nice on them. But overall, I still need wis items cause i screwed up when I made this char..lol. The green look, well, does nothing for me though believe it or not! Still cool to say I have them. What are they worth??
all other elder spiritist pieces are 2k-5k on allahkazam, so im guessing they'll probly be in that range, course allahkazam never gets the street price anyway, hard to tell with rarity. so if you dont want them...you could donate them to me for free..
You can begin using the proc at lvl 45. Some more info on the gloves.. The casting time is 2 seconds longer than normal snare, and its the lvl 1 snare, NOT the lvl 29 wayyy improved ENsnare. it is very helpful if you want to free up an extra spell slot, but mana consumption is a laugh anyway at the snare line series. 15 mana for snare and i think its 25 for ensnare. Doesn't really matter if we right click the gloves to save mana. We can regain it by the time the spell effect goes off. These are handy in a number of situations however. Obviously one would be when you are low on mana, root, then snare the mob for a time to med in case root breaks. Power levelling is also good for these if you dont wanna waste cast after cast on multiple mobs *shrug* Also when you get really bored and feel like terrorizing an old easy zone like unrest of even some hill giants in the karanas, these kind of come in handy. Because of the long casting time on them you must be careful to give yourself some extra range when the mob is running at you. (same with the arms). I almost never would use these in dungeons either. That extra 2 seconds adds up when you need the mana to heal/buff/what have you, and like i said the regular ensnare spell itself hardly takes any mana. Hope that info helped. It's kind of a neat novelty item, and the green hands thing does seem to work well with the elfies ;-)
let the clerics buff and heal. u snare and nuke and pcp/ds BEFORE fights. if ur snaring when ur supposed to (before the mob starts to run) then the extra 2 seconds won't hurt.
True they are not the best gloves out there in the world but I am happy with my new set. Now that the snare/root bug has been corrected I can pop this one off quickly after I've rooted a critter as a back up. Opens up a spell slot and the AC is good. I was over 200 wisdom anyway so losing those whopping 2 Wis points from the split paw junkers didn't hurt. (plus us leather bound druids need that dark green look to help us out with the chickies back home)
