has anyone seen this drop lately ? i've hunted and farmed this zone for many months and never have i seen a pristine tae ew scale. its pretty sad, because now that my main's smithing is getting up to where i could make tae ew plate, the scales required to make it just don't drop.

Had a couple drop tonight
These and the blood are rare drops. If you're really looking to farm them, you need to be killing the brown bastages, not the green lizards. There's a difference in difficulty. The brownies are a tad bit tougher than their greenie cousins. Ocassionally, you may get the rare drop off a green named, but it would be rarer to get this stuff off the trash mobs.

Don't get ripped off by a Bazaar trader. Shiny Lizard Scale's are worth about 1 plat. If you are looking to make Tae Ew Plate you need a "Pristine Tae Ew Scale" nothing else. I have done much farming for these to no avail, but I have been able to find them on Mithaniel Marr on an Afterlife trader for 8k each. Bought em all and got some sweet greaves. Good luck.

Lot of interesting and useful information. But what I and many others would like to know is where in CT do these scales drop? I have yet to see one drop for my group.
This is used in Tae Ew plates, but is it really no drop?!?
Well, first, the scales used to make tae ew plate armor are called "pristine TAE EW scales" not pristine lizard scales.
Second, no the pristine tae ew scales are NOT no drop. I bought all 6 of the ones I used to make my tae ew BP from other players.

The Pristine lizard scales are for the Tae ew plate recipes. They are used to make the sheets of metal.
Word in the boards is that the Pristine Lizard Scale is unstackable, and the Shiny lizard scale is vendor trash. They must be quite rare.
At one point I saw someone selling shiny lizard scales for 5000pp, and someone else selling them for 15pp.

ANY IDEA WHAT THE POLISHED ONES ARE FOR>?
Whatever they are, they aren't used for the Tae Ew armor. I tried combining them with the Lizard Temper to no avail. Most likely just vendor junk.

Not sure whats going yet I have also seen someone selling the Shiny Lizard Scales in the bazaar for high plat, I have yet to see one of the Pristine Lizard Scales drop and I have killed into the thousands of these mobs, the other drop I have not seen yet is the flawless hides, used for monk gear and tailoring that awesome 100% reduc bag that is ten slot giant, "drool" So far I have made chain items

I would also like to know if any one else has any more info, it seems that VI has changed some things around and not mentioned it, vials of tae ew blood were origanily no drop, no stack, now they stack and can be traded, I will post more as I find out.

I see "Shiny Lizard Scale"s for sale in the bazaar for 5000pp each. Are these the ones used in CT armor?
