nice gloves

Efficency I goes to lvl 24 if I'm not misstaken.
Picked these up on the Innoruuk server for 200p. Gave the spider fur gloves (I got for 100p) to My wizzard.
Sheesh.....

Was farming a deserted Sol A last night for Words for young mages, when Kindle popped. Since I'm a 60 mage and had my epic pet up, Kindle died quickly and the gloves were on him. Assumption therefore would be Verant's code is not taking into consideration level of PC's on drop. Though I continue to be very suspicious that there are trivial loot codes built into a lot of drops. Sold them in the bazaar for 600P; someone else had them listed at 1K. Zeb server.

Trivial codes only apply in post-Luclin zones and zones that receive major overhauls, such as Cazic Thule going from high 20s to high 50s back in 2001.

I killed him 3 time with only like 30minuets to an hour each time. U jus kill anything that walks into that donut like room and poof he will spawn... I always think its my stupid fricken pet..

focus effects...
# Jun 06 2002 at 7:44 PM Rating: Excellent
i might be wrong... but doesnt it seem stupid to put a spell that only effects spells level 20 and lower on an item thats hard to obtain even at 40? how many level 40s use a level 20 dot? im not saying it doesnt happen, but this seems pretty stupid to me...

I agree about way VI is ******** up this "focus effects" system. Our party
(levels 30 Necro, Druid, Warrior and Cleric) are just about perfectly
balanced to survive well in Sol A, get XP, not die too often, and kill
most mobs. As a 30 Necro, I haven't touched my level 20 Affliction spells
in some time. The INT and Mana are all I'm going for, with the focus effect
being a waste. No way an untwinked party of levels under 24 (last time
I used my level 20 spells) can survive
long in Sol A, especially having to clear their way to the Kindle room and
then sit there and keep the area clear.

Our group of level 24 characters (Untwinked for the most part) Killed Kindle twice tonight while hunting in SolA. This Item did not drop, but it would have been nice.

I think that Verant gears the items towards the level required for a Group to get it.

So I don't really think that they are encouraging twinking a well balanced group of mid 20's can get this item fairly easily

Your arguement has a flaw, If you went there with a full party of lvl 20 to 25 people and the caster got the gloves he/she would only find them useful till lvl 24, which in most cases is a very short time. No the focus effects are wrong for the lvl to attain.
RE: focus effects...
# Dec 06 2002 at 10:10 AM Rating: Decent
I can't speak for other dotting classes but a necro doesn't get a dot in thier 24th level spells. This item is a perfect example of VI's desire to encourage twinking. By the time you can get these gloves(mid twenties at best) they would only be usefull til 29 for a necro. Once 29 is attained the only use of these gloves is for the int and mana and one line of dot. Granted, the int and mana are very nice but putting the Affliction efficiency I effect on this item screams, sell it to a twinker.

I fully agree. Many Items are like this. sooo they are encouraging twinking. That's all there is to it.

If this logic is right then look up the effect on a shadel bandit ring and explain that one.
My experience
# Apr 24 2002 at 7:07 PM Rating: Excellent
Between giant groups in GD, I (lvl 45 gnome wizard) had been adventuring in Sol A camping Kindle. My first Kindle spawn happened a couple of nights ago and he dropped the Obsidian ring(2ac 3 dex 10hp). Well, last night I finally got my second Kindle spawn and this time he dropped his gloves. The fatal spawn happened just before I was going to camp for the night.

There was a higher level magician in the area killing everything in sight. So, as my greedy self will do, I ran around picking up all the heavy stuff he was not looting. I was overburdened heavily and practically waddling (106 stone) so I gated to the gnome mearchant nearby and sold, then ran back.

On my way back two goblin shaman types had spawned, who see through invis. I was too low mana to take them on so I zoned to Sol B to med up. Then I noticed that my familiar had poofed. This is an interesting observation: last time Kindle had spawned, my familiar also went poof. They are both imps so that may have something to do with it. Anyway last night that keyed me in that he might have spawned.

So I ran back in when I had more mana, killed the two shamans and sat in the doughnut room to med some more. Since nothing was up I briefly walked away to watch tv a bit in the other room. Of course while I was afk Kindle finally spawned. I barely heard the sounds of my wizzie being beaten to death and ran in there to find him with but a bub of health left.

Anyway I was able to kill Kindle and gate away before the other spawns popped and joined in. The gloves are nice and even have a graphic (dark leather) which is always nice.

In the area, there are 6 static spawns. Three in Doughtnut, or Kindle room, one in room directly to south, and two in second room to north. The only wandering mob is Kindle and his PHs. The gobs and Kindle seemed to have between 800 and 1000 hps each. Respawns of mobs seemed to be on about a 20 minute timer.

Loot tends to be fine steel, various qualities of ore, coin (sometimes a few plat), research items, and herbs. All items sell for ok money.

Key actions to get Kindle/KindlePH:

1) Keep the two goblin spawns north of the Doughnut, or Kindle room, dead
2) Always kill the wandering mob in the area, as it is Kindle's PH.

Useful tactics:

1) Kill the static spawns in the Kindle room so they wont join the fight when Kindle spawns.
2) After killing a static spawn, med where he was standing. Another spawn wont happen in that place for 20 minutes and you will be out of aggro range of other mobs while you med (except for the wanderer)
3) If not KOS, bind at the gnome merchant in the gnome area of Sol A. When you become overburdened with ore and the like, gate there and sell, then run back to Kindle area.
4) Zone to Sol B is pretty close. Know where it is so you can run there instinctively if you get into trouble, or just want to clear some pain-in-the-butt aggro.

Good luck!

nice gloves
# Jan 27 2002 at 3:41 AM Rating: Decent
I bought these for 200pp off of a low level twinked mage. I've been looking for some good gloves for awhile, so I was very excited to get these. 200 plat seemed like a good deal at the time, but now i see the average price here is 2K, so it looks like I got a really good deal!
Want to know how to make him spawn ?
# Dec 30 2001 at 8:45 AM Rating: Decent
Yes, Kindle does have a placeholder. The wandering mob found either in the room he 'supposedly' spawns in or the 2 rooms next to that can hold his place holder. It is always the wandering mob, never the static spawns. Just keep killing the wandering mob and you will get him to spawn many times.
Loc : -64 - 574 (3 gob room)
Loc : +22 -550 (2 gob room)
Loc : +34 -622 (2 gob room)
Those rooms will either spawn Kindle or his PH. I have killed him 9 times tonight, but I received the ring every time. Good luck.
Not so bad

camped kindle for 6 hours the other night. saw him once, dropped the stupid ring...hehe im wearing it though :P. but anyway this isnt a bad camp, me level 41 warrior and my 46 cleric brother camped this spawn i pulled from reckless efreeti, and captain room. got nothing from the whole mini raid though. guess it wasnt my night.

rare drop, off rare BORING spawn yes

also 1 concider how many int/mana gloves there are
RE: price
# Aug 13 2001 at 1:31 AM Rating: Decent
Yes these gloves are nice, and maybe the pricing on the frosted gloves is wrong, but as of right now and this sites pricing...100pp for frosted gloves..more ac on them..1 less INT point, and +10 sv cold instead of mana...i'd look for the frosted gloves hands down (pun intended) before dishing out the kinda money for these.

ok heres the deal to keep it simple....if you face gob captains door and go into door on your left side.....youll go around to the ramp back up towards elementals, gnomes etc.....in the space between gob cap'n room and the length of area along to the ramp < room with rock trap , also spike trap in walls further along > u got maybe 8 - 10 mobs that do NOT move....one that does...that mob can be any type of gobo or kindle....20 min spawn rate on every mob in this zone, regardless....these are the facts, hope it helps all you " in - need " int casters......Cevil Swyftwinde 2nd lvl pathfinder........uber is as uber does ...ranger d0wn!

Easy for me!!!

I am a 40 Necro and got the gloves within 15minutes. Here is the scope from what I concluded.

1) I cleared the north room where the block goes up and down 1st.

2) Pulled the other gobos from the room south of the mentioned above room. This south room is the one you can walk around in a circle. Was able to pull the 3 gobos in that room as singles doing this.

3) When I originally killed the north room Kindle came from the south room but none of the other gobos from the south room. Kindle spawned everytime in this circular room. The room labeled #2 from the eqatlas.com map.

4) Kindle seemed to spawn every 5 mins for me. For a total of 3 spawns. I received the Impskin gloves on the 3rd spawn.

5) For you other necros all I did was Augment Pet, Renew Bones, Root, VoS and the occasionaly Vampiric Embraced to offset my CoB. I only VoS the gobo shaman and wizard. the fire gobos my pet took down with no problem

Hope this helps shed some light on any questions you may have trying this camp. I dont know if I was totally lucky or what but I thought Kindle seemed to be a normal spawn. He spawned everytime just like the other gobos. Good Luck
rare boring camp
# Jun 09 2001 at 10:44 PM Rating: Decent
problem with Kindle is that he is a rare spawn and the gloves are his rare drop, so can spend days without getting these gloves. Other than that, he is kinda near several zone lines incase of trouble. Really boring camp.
Could I solo him 3rd try for proper post

I'm a lv45 dwarven warrior on the nameless could i solo him and survive. Or would it be best to go in there with a healer partner?

You'd best have a partner. If he was the only mob you had to fight you could solo him easily. But, you will have to work your way up the long hallways and by the time you fight your way thru all the green goblins to get there you will be low on hitpoints or you will have spent alot of time sitting down to rest while hoping nothing pops on you. Invisibility can get you part of the way there without fighting but there is an occasional goblin that can see invisibility so you'd go thru alot of potions.

I tried to go up alone as a 44 Paladin and ran out of healing mana and had to retreat from the constant fighting off of the goblins. At 45 i could heal mana free with the DW helm and it was easy. Each mob does a few points to you, you heal and move on.

Pondering going after these
# May 14 2001 at 8:52 AM Rating: Decent
Please i'm not trying to smart here but if any Wizards have gone and gotten these please answer these questions.
1) At what level did you get them?
2) Did you solo him or need a group?

I hear all the time about this mob or that mob totally handing it to someone that was well over the mobs level and I know each class has different abilities so that is why I'm asking for Wizards only to answer this. Thanks

I killed him at level 38, hes was really really easy :) I was near the EXG spawn and I heard wings flapping, thought it was singe and turned out it was kindle. So I killed him and got the Impskin Gloves. I had to dispell him since he had a damage shield, I could have killed him without it, but still :)

At 34 I died after about an hour of clearing gobos... I did actually see him when I first got there and took camp from a mid 40's ranger. He spawned (notice *spawned*) in the room past the big stone block that goes up and down hehe. She took him out pretty easy and just told me to keep the hallways clear. I did manage to kill Singe while chasing a runner, he dropped belt )

Tried again at 35.. went for about 3 hours... came within 30 - 40hps of my life a few times so decided to bag it and try again when Im 36.

The moral is: I think the hard part is keeping the gobos clear for the long random spawn time.

Hope this is helpful, if not, send all flames here: algore@Iinventedtheinternet.org

I heard this guy flyin' around when i was in the secret passages off from the foremans room, I'd seen him before up passed the predators spawn point on the way out going towards the bridge....so, i ran up and sure enough he wizzed by and was flyin' down the corridor...man he is fast!...i thought i was sol...but i shot an arrow at him and he came back.
Sadly, he only dropped the obsidian bead hoop...but, beware!...i was a 35 Troll Warrior and this guy took me down to 2 bulbs...,perhaps because i'm highly flamable. lol,...i don't know...

After much research and deliberation, I have decided that at lvl 34 (Paladin), I'm goin in. My Wizard begged and pleaded for these gloves, I can deny him no longer. I will return with the full scoop on spawning/dropping/how hard the little ******* hits. Unless I get whooped =/
