Just to inject some sanity into this thread:

1) You can still use it to trigger OT hammer. They made a change so that if you kill the eye, you can't recast until it poofs. Fix? Loot the dead eye. Simple

2) This is probably the single greatest and most indispensible pulling tool in the bards inventory. It is utterly essential gear, and as such worth every pp. Think big crowded rooms, think sending in the eye and lulling the lot. Its the biz.

So yeah worth 50k.

cant attack the eye anymore

Used to be able to use the eye and the OT hammer and get a free ride to the shipyard in OT but can't attack the eye anymore.

It must have been nerfed since the Holgresh Elder Beads have been nerfed because Eye of Zomm is exploited by PvP necros..

I realize this post is nearly a year old, but just for anyone who should be reading...

The Holgresh Elder Beads were not "nerfed," they simply stopped dropping. The impetus of this change was that they were abused as a pulling tool. With the change to the way pets draw aggro, the Beads no longer can be used in that way, nor can these.

Eye of Zomm's original intent, and its primary use these days, is as a scouting tool. This is especially useful in LDoN, where you never know just how many bad guys are on the other side of the door...

If the eye once upon a time could draw agro, and it no longer can, isn't that a "nerf"?

Eye of Zomm's a spell, so maybe they nerfed that - but they never nerfed the item.

It's not such a bad proc, the other kunark sets have even worse procs....Ranger legs are CANCEL magic a low lvl dispell, cobalt bp is INVIGOR = ranger boots and bard arms, so don't think eye of zomm is so bad till you check the other kunark armor procs.

Cobalt Breastplate is Invigorate, not invigor. Invigor(increase stamina regen for a short period of time, kinda like celestial healing, except with stamina) Invigorate(around 90 hitpoint heal). Invigorate is not on Ranger boots or Bard arms. Invigorate are on all kunark and quest BPs, and(i think) PoG, and(not sure about this one) PoH.

Cancel magic is more useful than Eye of Zomm on most occasions, due to dispelling things like SOW and dmg shield on mobs. eye of zomm is merely a scout, and will most likely be attacked, and then trained back to you.

the eye is sort of a gm-type scout... no faction. nothing attacks it, but you can't attack anything thru it. it's very handy as a scout, mostly because it won't get aggroed (sometimes I THINK my rogues invised... only to get a nasty surprise
Please eye - please please please

I just got this last night and was able to answer a question I have wanted to know. You can beg from this Eye. This means I can raise my begging skill when I am otherwise sitting idle like on the boat or auctioning in EC.

Why raise Beg? Beg is a major taunt when you are trying to pull a mob off a caster.

In response to begging being a major taunt. My bard has a 179 in begging and no, the taunt is not that great. Not to mention, you must stop melee before you can taunt which just means more finger play and less dmg (and bards don't need anymore buttons.. we got enough trying to just twist songs all the time). So why do I beg? Why not? We sit back with the casters waiting for pulls so it gives me something to do during downtime. Another factor to bring to light... The higher your begging skill, the less of a taunt factor it is =p .

Just curious but why would a bard be waiting with casters for pulls and not pulling? *shrug* that's what we're best at. Also, this helm is useful as you can summon the eyes to proc the Worker Sledgemallet on (overthere gate hammer).

Read the date of the first post.. bards were ALOT different 2 years ago.. this was an accepted role in groups then. Not alot of point reviving this, and if you'd just READ the date in the first place you probably wouldn't have wasted your time..

It has its uses
# Jun 19 2001 at 10:22 AM Rating: Default
Actually Eye of Zomm can be quite useful.
With it you can:
Single Pull Phinny in KK
And we use it alot when pulling in ToV. In the HoT section it works pretty well if its just a few people, and not a full raid. So dont count out everything that seems worthless, it can all be used benifcially for something

Ask any necro how "useless" a eye of zomm is during downtime. Lich from full health/zero mana, up to 1 bubble life and 4 bubbles mana, then BoD the eye, that will totally heal the necro(even in lich) and the mana used to cast BoD will regain back while BoD is working...useless effect BAH!

What necro helmet? If there's an INT caster version of the kunark armor, (other than the Mana Robe,) I'd be very interested to find out about it? Smiley: drool2

#Anonymous, Posted: May 11 2001 at 9:44 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) yes the ac is good yet Verant in the infinite wisdom yet again SCREWS over Bards by giving us CRAPPY Effects.... PLEASE Verant Give us Bards something DECENT .. ill settle for less armor class but some kinda stat or function that isnt a low lvl spell from another caster....
#Anonymous, Posted: May 11 2001 at 4:21 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) LOL not only is it a crappy proc, but it's the lower level Zomm spell which lasts for about 30 seconds and anything that aggroes on the eye bound to be close enough to aggroe on you. What a useless proc!
#Xaoalo, Posted: Mar 05 2001 at 4:03 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Erm.. yes, that was a joke.
