Is this one of those old-school poisons that no longer exists?

This still exists. I made some today after buying all the ingredients from Toxicologist Huey in PoK.

this has to be my poison of choice. dont ask me why, i just like it. lol

btw, you can buy the lined poison vials from Poison Merchants in pok and the surrounding npc's sell the rest of the ingredients.

Can anyone help about the chances of resist on this? the spell info is confusing.

this poison is cheap to make and all ingredients are merchant buyable. I would say that the price equals the resist chance. now, soe need make poison stackable. /pimpslaps soe

After it is applied it will wear off when either it actually gets used or when you zone or log off. Which means that best case scenario your paying about 2-10pp for 1 hit! Wow, you must be pretty rich to use poisons. As for my rogue I had to give it up due to the cost.
When EQ was first released there was talk that they would make it such that if you failed to make a poison you'd get your poison vial back (make sense doesn't it?) and that after you used a poison you'd get the vial back (again, common sense) and that poisons would be stackable eventually. Well, its been over 4 years now and they still haven't done that and at this point I doubt they ever will.
Having said that they fixed these issues when they made advanced poisons. You get your advanced poison vials back when you use the poison and when you fail a combine. And you can summon the vials for free if you have the grandmasters poisoners item.

It's made entirely from store-bought ingredients (go to the WK vendor, Toxfodder), it's low enough that you can even make it before Make Poison at 20, and it reduces movement by 95% and attack speed by 50%!! This is a great poison to start off with, and it's even good to keep around for a while!
