It's not always for the reward

Sometimes I like to do the quests, just for the sake of the quest...

These days 105pp is a lot easier to come by too.

heh...you wanna tell me a way to get 100pp easily?

I'll tell you more than one.

Kill things in the Dreadlands until you get a gem or two.

Kill things in Dulaks until you get a gem. Or two. Or an Opal Bracelet. Or a Pearl Necklace.

Pwn the guards in HHK for their Fine Steel Weapons. Sell. Rinse. Repeat.

Get a trader and pwn the orcs in Crystal Caverns. Sell the velium they drop. Rinse. Repeat.

Do 1 LDoN.

Farm Green Goblin heads in ButcherBlock. The Blood and Heads sell for 4pp each to the Magus at the BB LDoN camp. This is as a DE with 65 CHA.

Hope any of those methods help.

For once and for all....BEFORE the Bazaar, BEFORE all these uber drops...The Circlet was easier for a Mage to get at level 30 than a Elemental Binder. Think about when these quests were implemented...with original Everquest. They probably didnt envision level 65s taking level 20s to the Hole and getting them Elemental Binders, they didn't envision a Bazaar where you could buy a Binder for 5pp, they didn't envision a lot of things. Do you think they ever thought Manastones would sell for 100kpp? Look at things in context before you simply bash the item in question.

I remember when the Dark Reaver was 'UBER'. =p

Lucky you, playing on Morder Rasp server where everyone is untweaked. Elemental Binder runs 200plat. Two less Int point you can get this for half the cost, which is a big deal when 200plat is all the money and items you have combined.

If you say Morden Rasp is untwinked, you should be slapped, and slapped hard.

You missed my point. I'm actually in favour of doing this quest and getting the item. Buying your way to glory really has no reward to it. Actually getting into the game and getting exciting about the quests, however, is infinately more rewarding.

the WIS part

why would any pure-caster need +3 WIS? To me, its useless. besides, the Elemental Binder may weigh 8 lbs., but its worth it. And on good days in the bazaar, it costs only 5pp...they should replace the WIS with STA or mana!

Not only does he state a great case for the Elemental Binder which is a great item with alot of weight, but in the quest for the circlet requires a sapphire that with 199 charisma will cost around 105pp anyways. Save yourself 100pp and gain 2 more intelligence with the Binder

I was one component away from scoring a Circlet of Mist, when a buddy gave me a Savant's Cap. Then I joined a guild and got an Elemental Binder.

Sigh.

Had I known this before hand, I'd not have gone through the trouble in the first place.

Sigh.

...and the Circlet's NODROP, too.

Open wide Destroy button.

Well, should you get high enough you need the Elemental Binder for your epic. You can then use the circlet of mist as a temporary replacement until you get something better should the chance arise. I would just put it into the bank :)

I agree that isn't a silly move.. Though by the time they could use the binder for their epic going to mistmoore and trashing the maid for a nightshade wreath would have to be tempting if you didn't want to go for some velious quest items or similar.

Well, it would be, except that by the level you can get this, you can already summon a Heatstone or possibly even a Coldstone - significantly better than any lightsource.

I just did this quest on June 9 with my druid. After spending 5 hours camping for the ring and spending 130pp to buy the Sapphire I cna confirm that is still Magic, Lore, No Drop. Oh well, something good for the destroy button to eat.

Perhaps an /ooc would have been a better route to take.

Drop
# Apr 21 2001 at 9:00 PM Rating: Default
It used to be no drop but verant said why not make the pvp magi have some dropable stuff.
RE: Drop
# Aug 17 2001 at 10:30 PM Rating: Decent
Which in my own humble opinion, sucks. I recently helped my wife do her Cleric quest for bracers of the reverant. They can get two of them to wear as they are not lore, plus they are dropable and can be sold. Might be nice if some of our older items we no longer need could be sold. If they wanted PVP mages to have some no drops, make the items no drop on a PVP server :P

All the zeks are REALLY underpopulated, and only one of them has item loot.
