From what I have seen these only drop off the larva in the pit if you don't want to waste your time killing everything down there.

If you are faming these for artisans prize evolution I would suggest shar vahl. Drop down off the bridge and just mass kill everything that moves. Took me about a half hour to get 200 of them. Shadeweaver's I got about 40 in the same amount of time and it requires a tracker to keep them all down.
great for noobs

an item a lvl one naked noob can farm and sell for 1 to 10 pp at the bazaar (averaging around 2 to 3 on most servers). farm em, sell em, use the plat to buy gear in the bazaar thats better than your newbie quest gear.

Shadelling Silks

Ah, don't waste the money if you have PoP. Book over to Shar Val (which like many books does not take you to the city, but the zone outside the city). This books takes you to Shadeweavers Thicket, smack dab in the middle of the Xakra worm spawning grounds. OOC for silks and kills anything that slithers (maybe more like wumps). Had 15 silks within 15 min.

its supply and demand, high level chars can make the plat to buy these fairly easy, and faster than it takes to farm them themselves. the xakra silkworms share a spawn table the bloodlings, sometimes ther are tons of xakra, sometimes, not one to be found, so its easier for a high level char with a pocket full of plat to pay for them than it is to farm them.
reasons so expensive

Shadeling silk is used in making Rallic Packs as well as helping to boost early tailoring skills

2 silks = shade silk thread
3 shade silk threads = shade silk cord
shade silk cord and thread + rallic pack pattern +
perfect owlbear pelt = Rallic Pack (85% weight reduction)
Not gonna complain

For some reason, the shade silk threads are worth like 100pp each in bazaar... I'm not gonna complain!!! *Gets ideas*

Who do you sell it to in Bazaar and do you need specific factions? I can only get 1 silver and some copper for each of them..
RE: Not gonna complain
# Feb 06 2003 at 8:49 PM Rating: Decent
You have to sell them to another player not an NPC

More than just a player, you have to find a player that's a complete idiot to pay that much for something that anyone could make in two minutes.

Where can this be found on creatures?

You can find shadeling silk on the Xakra Larva in the Pit in Shar Vahl, or on the worms near Shar Vahl in Shadeweaver's Thicket. The worms tend to drop it more often.

Also can be found on lesser shades in shadeweaver's thicket. Why a skeleton looking creature has silks, I do not know, but they do.

Only Shadeling Silk is on worms and Shade Silk is on Gor taku. There is a difference between the two.

It's Shark dratha who drop Shade Silk, not gor taku.

Nope, that is incorrect. The lesser shades drop shadeLING silk. I have farmed tons of it there, from both the worms, and the lesser shades.
