Someone had stated on an earlier date that the runed circlet is BETTER than the savant's cap. Does this imply that the runed circlet has the same raegent conservation abilities? or was he just trying to be a know it all?

Well, if he doesn't use many spells requiring reagent, Runed Circlet is better.
For instance, I don't think a beastlord would think twice between those two items.

Now of course, for most casters, the Reagent Conservation might be better...

Is there a graphic for this? I'm looking for a headpiece for my high elf cleric and want to try and stay away from goofy head graphics.. :P Thanks in advance.

I went to Permafrost on my own at level 28 with my druid on the Karana server. Found preacher without problems. But he was surrounded by blues and greens and I knew that on my own I'd get a pasting. So I went back outside to Everfrost and shouted for some backup.

A very nice 55th level, Mielliki, sent me a tell that she would help... just as I was about to reply I accidentally cast Gate and ended up back in Rivervale. (It was late and I'd had a drink or two)

Next thing I heard she tells me that someone had got the preacher. I was rather disappointed, thinking I'd have to camp for a while.

But then it turned out that in fact she'd killed the preacher on her own and got the cirlet and that she'd meet me in Surefall Glade to give it to me. A few moments later I had my nice shiny headgear.

Some people are just so friendly... :)

Your on a blue server though, try Ralloszek where the pvp action really heats up, you try to help someone, and they try to kill you. I've seen only a handful of friendly people on the whole server.

We camped the priest in Permafrost. Took out the three lookouts and about 30 minutes later, Priest shows up, drops the circlet.

A really nice item to wear and the stats are great too (AC: +4 Wis: +4 Int: +4).

Looks so good on me (Wink).

Having camped the goblin Alchemist for over a day, and only got the one Cloak, I decided to give this guy a try.

I am a 40th Cleric, and getting to him was easy. Only three or so goblins will aggro at this level on the way to his room; these are easily despatched.

Once you get to his room you find there are three gobs in total, him and a Prelate and a Wizard. You can pull the Prelate and the Wizard at either side one at a time. The Wizard is easy to kill, but the Prelate has a very nasty heal. I killed him on the second attempt, using Stun and Holy Might so that he only healed once.

Once both of these are dead, the Preacher is again an easy kill, tho he too can heal. Dropped the Circlet the first time - total prep and camp time about an hour at most.

This is very reasonable for a 4wis 4int 4ac item 8)

I have seen it as high as 400pp but the item is really easy to get. The preacher has his own room and after you clear it out the first time it is the easiest room to fight in perma. Theres no trains and the stuff spawns every 20 minutes. Preachers seem to spawn every four hours usually after the room skips a spawn, might just be a coincidence but it happened twice. I have killed three so far and goten the circlets to drop twice. If your on the Tornnevolus server don't pay for one just send me a tell and we'll go get one.

I got this yesterday with a 20th rogue (me) and a level 23 enchanter. With a good enchanter it is not hard to hold the throne room with very few people even though the MOBs are equal or higher. We almost got it a second time too but the 2 spawn by the front entrance to the room came back just as we were killing the preacher for the second time so we got killed unfortunately. If we had one more person we could've held it even then.

it is good for ALL casters. that is why this is such a pricey item. Once you get something better, it is so simple to sell. I have seen it sold for 250, but master Brenno told me its worth 350.

i do not think anybody should trust the last guy, he is willing to pay 100pp more than what he knows to be the upper end price of an item.

That is alot of pp to waste, for me anyway, i say try for 200pp

It could even go for 500pp at Innoruk date RL is 06 mars 2001
#Anonymous, Posted: Apr 07 2001 at 12:15 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I've seen it go for 300 easily on Bristlebane, maybe the two posters who think it is less than 200 are newbies who just think they can trick people into selling items for less than they are worth?

Depends on the server. On Cazic-Thule(a twink server) they go for 200 but we are known for being twinked. I wouldnt imagine the pric ewould be as low on other srevers cuz nothing ever is as cheap on other servers as it is on CT.

I play on Innoruuk as well and believe me (and the guy a couple posts ago)... stuff is insanely expensive on that server. Prices TOTALLY depend on the server. Just FYI. :)
