i like this weapon just because of the name it is very BARD but that is just me i have a wood elf so i kinda dont have a choice but it still makes sense i think that the first one is right it should be every insturment and play a clicky song but look for a battle drummers main gaunche in bzaar they cost a fortune so they cant be giving insturment weps to noobs just my 2 cents

when life gives you lemons clone those lemons and make SUPER LEMONS!!!!!!!!! blazesong lvl 9 bard saryn server

this is prolly too far out there but... they should have made the bard weapons totaly different . have them clickably to play chant of battle. that would be cool. lowest lev song i know but it wouldnt make them over powerful or any thing. just an idea and im sure someone will flame it but oh well. :)

It's a noob weapon. It's already something that orginial EQ players would've sold their souls for, and it's.. so incredibly ease to get. Now, add a clicky effect? Hah, hell. At some point, it'd get to level 1's having food and drink that give them +1 level per drink, like the rare candy from Pok'e'mon (until the next, expansion, of course, where they cut out the busy work and make the first one clicky to max level).

There's an item with a combat proc of Chant of Battle. It's the result of a quest in Plane of Sky.

I think I'd prefer Whistling Warsong or Chords. Also, there should be a bard song increase % on it. Also, like the Epic, it should act as every instrument (must be trained to use that kind.)

While we're at it, why don't we just allow bards to have clicky instant cast unlimited CH on their newbie equipment? Death touch too!

Hey, don't be so sure you're going to get flamed, I think it's a good idea, except not right-click but maybe combat effect but easy to proc it.. who knows maybe someone will think it's a good idea besides a lowbie like me self

This is a good weapon for Wood Elf bards considering that they cant use any of the other bard quests. Well just my 2 cents =-)

armor combo
# Jul 31 2002 at 1:00 PM Rating: Excellent
My thought is out of the 3 armors half elf bards can chose from they really should take from each, because some pices suk compared to their conterparts, Ive made a list of my thought how you should combo the armor together to make the most effiecient, plus with the 3 diffrent shades of blue its gonna look really snappy
Windsong helm: 5ac, 4dex, 1cha
Tranquilsong armguards: 5ac, 2str, 2sta
Songweaver bracers: 4ac, 1sta, 4agi(thats 8agi!!)
Tranquilsong gauntlets: 5ac, 1str, 2dex
Songweaver boots: 5ac, 2cha, 1agi
Tranquilsong greaves: 6ac, 2str, 3cha
Songweaver breastplate: 12ac, 5cha, 5agi
Etched Songweaver longsword: 8dmg 30dly
Its not that I dont value cha. but I think more of other stats is better ex. 4chr compared to 2dex and 3agi

Well that was longwinded, but it'll give my thought of the best combo for newb bards

Appearance's sake
# Jul 31 2002 at 1:48 AM Rating: Decent
In the graphic above it appears to use the A_Longsword model. HEFs may want to consider the FP Songweavers sword with better delay and a nice Katana appearance. Unfortunately the Kele/FP/Qeynos bard weapons are PRI only so no dualling these at 17 (unlike the ranger weapons).

That is if you are still using these at 17.
Half Elves

Looks like the Half elves get to choose which armor quests they would like to do. Songweaver's quest sword beats this by one delay. ;)

Fine Steel is not magical. This is...
RE: err
# Jul 31 2002 at 3:32 PM Rating: Default
for bards, magical armor has no meaning whatsoever. Bards dont kick, so boots dont mean anything. Bards dont slam, do shoulders dont mean anything. Bards can use hth, but you will never do any appreciable damage that way, so magic gloves mean very little. The magic tag on any other slot has no meaning to anyone. So who cares? certainly not any bard, or anyone else who has spent any time actually playing this game.

On the RP server, with no easy access to nice gear, I found that when fighting low dark blues, I can kill two at a time, using hth :)

Heal song and AE damage song are both string songs, so I load up the mandolin, and attack hth using the ae damage spell to do damage to the two mobs at once. Takes a while, but normally health doesn't go below aroung 50 percent. Having magic gloves on helps here, I actually do damage with my hands to willowisps in gfay :)

actually, kicks and slams are always considered magical... no matter what you're wearing... make a monk and go kick a willowisp and you'll see... even if he's buttnaked you'll hit it... :)

Monks must be special then cause I can't count the number of times that I forgot and tried to slam a wisp with my barbarian shaman. Each time I was told it was INVULNERABLE! So I went and got a prayer shawl from Crushbone.

Monks special attacks level 5 and above count as magic. Everybody else needs magic armor.

Ah, but to Instill Doubt, you have to land a kick, and you must have Magic boots. Thus, it DOES matter to Bards (who gain it later). Of course, I hate to give up my Rogue's greyhopperhide boots. The shiny black leather looking boots with his nearly all-black garb looks cool.
