I just did this quest two days ago, and the dagger I got, did NOT have "bonus damage: 6" on it. Just magic item 7 dmg, 26 dly.

The damage bonus is dependent on your level, so as you get higher, so will the damage bonus you see reported on your weapons. Only melee classes get a damage bonus and I believe it doesn’t start until you reach level 30. The equation is something like int((level – 27)/3), although I can’t log on and check at the mo., so I could be wrong. 2 handed weapons get an additional damage bonus.

This has got to be the easiest newbie weapon quest out there. When I was in CB killing orcs for their bricks, I got the 3 items required for this quest, so I had the weapon done early on.

Also, ignore that damage bonus. Picture was taken from my 45 rogue.

Nah the Ranger Sword is easier because half of the components needed (the two Orc eyes) are tradeable

Just posting to pad my count while at work. Enjoy

one of the best weapons from the newbie quests i have seen. Puts the DE piercer to shame....well actually its puts itself to shame but you get the picture......Nice reward for the level.

A good reward, but not the best. Best reward is for the Gnome casters. Not a weapon, but +5 int/chr/svd/svp with some +hp/mana. very nice indeed.

I used to think the same thing. Then I tried the DarkElf Necromancer newbie quests and got the Writ of the Fallen (another book)

Stats: AC+3, Sta+5, Int+5, Magic Resist+2, Fire Resist+2, Cold Resist+2, HP+10, Mana+20

Given the distribution of saves plus the AC, I think its a tie between this and the Eldritch Initiate Spellbook. (+10HP and +20mana for the gnomes' book, btw)

Yes it is very good, it's very close to the halfling rogue newbie dagger, if not better. (don't wanna do the math right now =P)

EFP's armor is pretty easy to get, though not as good as GFay's it does look nicer. Qeynos' armor is horrible to get (Large King Snakes AND Giant Field Rats? I won't waste my life in the low levels thank you).

Qeynos' weapon is garbage
Freeport's I can't get to work, give Rigg the card and just get very minimal xp
Kelethin's is a lot better, but can just get a Shiv in Bazaar for 1p anyway why bother with it?
