Newbie Armor

Sol Ro BP is better because it adds ac and stamina, Wis is easy to get with jewelry, belt, cap, weapon, shield and so on, get Sol Ro BP, Sleeves, Bracer, and Boots. They all add stamina which means hps. Which means you will die alot less.

You're forgetting the fact this BP can be done from the getgo at level 1. No point comparing apples to oranges.

Keep an eye out for these. Might be an idea to either print out or write the list down so you can make a note of what you need.
I've put this post on all items, so everyone can see.

16 Bricks of Crude Bronze
2 Arborean Sprout Root
8 Water Flasks
2 Arborean Sprout Bark
6 Large Sylvian Bat Fur
2 Mature Arborean Barks
4 Giant Sylvian Bat Fur
2 Arborean Sprout Twig
5 Arborean Sapling Bark

I found that people in Crush Bone are happy to get rid of the Bricks of Crude Bronze. I am hunting for my armour at level 20 (just to say I have it), so I bound myself at a bank, so when I got all the bricks, I just Gated, as I could not move. I weighed 304. Nice.
I traded the BoCB for a few heals and made a friend in the process.

the bronze can be MQ also... if you have a friend or another toon hunting in BB the aqua and green goblins drop the bronze bricks quite frequently.... & so do the orcs

I started this quest today, got all the peices made but the BP and Legs, the hardrest part is finding the saplings and Matrue ones. We spent 5 hours searching for them and I got 1 bark from each, guess I will keep looking tomorrow. Got to love the stats though for Newbie Armor.

Spawns
# Jul 31 2002 at 10:15 AM Rating: Decent
These quests don't appear any tougher than the Haflings. The spawns are supposed to be rare for a piece or two in all the newb stuff. That said, I understand the tree-critters spawn best in the NW corner of the zone. Good hunting.

anyone know how often the bat furs drop for it. I killed like 20 bats yesterday and not one fur going back to nihgt to kill more. the next one is the mini treants. are ver scarce anyway the one ya need for it anyway. any suggestions on how to make this stuff spawn would be appreciated.

The batfurs off the giant sylvan bats.. *shudders in rememberance* are the hardest thing to get... it's so horrible I almost gave up getting them, but i did stick in there, and decided that early early early morning was best time to try and get them when there is usually less than 15 people in Gfay... that means no running around trying to beat everyone else to the bats and the KSers who dont care if you were there first... the batfur is pretty rare, so getting to the bats when not very many people is on, is your best bet really. Just run around Orc Hill, and to the east of Orc Hill is where I've seen the most Giant Sylvan Bat's spawn.. even all the way over to the east wall (in north part of zone).... sometimes to the west side of orc hill, but havent seen them there but maybe twice...

My suggestion on making the stuff spawn? just kill everything.. spiders, bats, basalisks, wandering orcs.. i think the bats and arboreans can pop in any of those places pretty much.. so when your out hunting just kill pretty much everything you see if you can.

Good luck, and I know how frustrating the armor quests are.. but it's very rewarding, and eventually you WILL get your set.. =) i spent a week of countless hours getting mine, and eventually suceeded (all except for the gaunts because i had better and i do not want to hunt or even SEE another arborean or stupid bat again)

I agree. It took me a few days of nearly non-stop playing during the summer for me to get these pieces, but it was definitely worth the extra 22 WIS. After this, I also recommend the Testament of Vaneer quest for another 10 WIS, plus an Othimir Fur Cap and an Acrulia Studded Mask, both of which I found for under 25pp. Then, if you really like punishment, camp aqua gobbies to finance getting your smithing skill (along with brewing and tailoring) high enough to make Imbued Elven Chainmail. That should get you to nearly 200 WIS, assuming you have some jewelry WIS pieces.

Doesn't seem right
# Jul 26 2002 at 8:06 PM Rating: Decent
Ok if this really does have +5 WIS, I would find that strange. Why give the best newbie cleric BP to the race that already has the highest wisdom, while gnomes get something like +2 WIS? Not that it's bad that newbie high elf clerics get a good BP, it just seems strange to me.

This quest is also extremely difficult. It took myself and a level 60 cleric about 8 hours working together to get these breastplates, the first two on our server. If it didn't have 5wis, the effort vs reward would be too low to be worth it.

Know what you mean... just completed the Abattoir Initiate quests for Erudite necros (minus the cap), and the stats are much better than for any of the other newbie casters -- INT+12 (can probably add 2 more with the cap), even though Erudites start out with the highest INT.
