My guild took a run at the EMP last night for the first time. Not all of us had Bane weapons a Large porion o the dmamage was done by procs and magic. couple of monks and BL and most tanks were yelding the SCS. I still managed to get agrro from the EMP just by allowing it to hit mih 7 or so times before turing off the attack. This happned to a couple of Rangers that were shooting arrows at him to. Yes I understand how you need to control your agrro. Im just letting you know that this thing Really Really wails on the EMP.
I would bet runs from 150+ to 340+ 7 lines in a row before turning off my attack. A run on 2 consecutive 340 turned him onto me immediatley. Just be prepared if not everyone has bane weapons and you make a run on the EMP.
The other odd thing is the blade never hit as hard against the other Shsissar from Entrance to Comm3 as it did in the EMP chamber. Dont know why but the DPS was very noticable.

Guild has been AEing the basement for shards, and I was lucky to snag the green metal to make this sword. I think that the drop ratio of shards to ore has been at least 5:1 although that is just the luck of the draw so far and in no way a proven ratio. The ore is rare as hell though, so guild tanks and rogues/monks/rangers need it more than hybrids like myself...I only got it because it was rotting and I could nake it to Ssra basement from PoK fast enough. The combine is no fail in any forge, Seru bane is the one that requires skill.

If i get one of these ill move to ssra to reak havoc on the shissar for eternity; as payback for enslaving my ancestors.

is the ore nodrop? I have the knight sword on my SK and I heard if I can get the ore I can combine the items in any forge, heard that at EQtraders.com please post if I have been missinformed, my Sk would ROCK with this

The ore is No Drop. Its called a Strange Green Metal or something similar to that.

My understanding is this:
Against normal mob: 22/44
Against Shissar mob: 45/44
Against Emperor: 23/44
Emperor only takes damage from Shissar bane not from regular Damage on weapons.

Actually, thats quite popular misinformation.
Emp gets hit for all 45 dmg of that weapon (and similar, 15 dmg of the rogue weap 7 + 8)
Ask anyone who's actually fought emp and they'll tell you, incase you don't believe me (since 90% of the posters here haven't fought anything harder than an orc legoinairre)

I have fought Emp with one of these and after he is debuffed, i hit for the 200s on average. So that tells me im hitting for the full damage plus bane on the weapon.
Also saw a post earlier on some one who wanted to head to ssra and kill shissar after getting one of these.. You get the ore in the mines in ssra and base weapon needed from the Elites in ssra to make the final weapon.
I prefer to kill the regular shissar mobs with a normal nonbane weapon because it does the same damage.
Last note... a nonbane 44 Del 45 Damage weapon will do the same damage to the regular shissar mobs in ssra as this Bane weapon will. Some think they need bane to really hurt the regular mobs cause when they normally hunt there, they dont hurt the mobs very much.. The ssra mobs have very high AC..thus they are better able to mitigate damage taken.

I like how people don't display their names when they say something stupid like that. How about not post anything until you can prove it contrary to belief by getting emp key, and ore and hitting emp yourself.
Reedited this, but I still have a problem with LanysCoN's reply. Basically most of the info on this site is first or second hand info. Something being secondhand doesn't mean its wrong. And something being first hand doesn't mean its right either. I've seen lots of posts by people who did something and they are still wrong because they aren't good observers. Treat it the same way you would in real life: consider it, decide on how likely it is, then test if curious.

anyone know if there is a backstory to these? maybe related to the Iksar, seeing as the Iksar were enslaved by the Shissar in the old days of Norath. Just curious.

Just to clarify, while the primary function of this weapon IS to kill emp...it is ALSO effective in killing any Shissar.
Remember it's Shissar bane, not emperor bane.
The raw weapon not hard to get, but the ore is a huge pain in the butt cuz it doesn't drop often.

seems to be more stat oriented than damage im not thinking 2 ratio on a lvl 55 to get 2hs is hot at all!
All the Corrupted Shissar weapons are made in the basement forge in Ssra by combining the weapons that drop off of the elites with the ore that drops off of the skeletons in the mines.
The Corrupted Shissar weapons only have 1 real function... to hit the Emperor. (Thx Verant for the cruddy ratio & dps)

so will invis work in this area..(except for the skellys) just to get to the forge and then back out? Just bought the raw sword in the bazaar and was checking on it here. I saw that it needs to be combined with the metal and just started wondering.

Invis will get you to there if you are careful and watch for the Taskmaster that paths. You can also use IU to walk through the mines. Maybe if you are lucky people camping the shard will let the ore be looted if drops, but that is pretty uncommon.
