Does anybody know what lvl you have to be to use the effect?????? Just bought a pair for my lvl 14 druid. Can't use the effect yet. Seems a waste if you cant use them until 39 when you get the spell anyways!!!!!!!!
These are usable at 50, and they are not a waste at all. SLD takes some serious mana to cast, and this is a manaless cast. And not bad stats for legs either.
picked up a set of these today at the bazaar on luclin server for 8k pretty cheap i guess, even tho i got better wis on my pants now ill just keep these in my tinker's bag and use it to heal when in between kites.

This is what irks me so bad... NO mob in the game should be so hard that it takes half teh players on the server that night to drop it. Come on Verant... challenging is one thing, impossible is another. Let us have some fun.
I really hope that you are not referring to Venril Sathir. As far as mobs go, he's pretty damn simple. Watched a guild take him down tonight with 16 people, and most of that was overkill. VS can be done easily with only two skillful groups.
Went on my first VS raid on Christmas Eve. We had about 30 people and that was definitely overkill. Only one person died and he was only lvl 49. Give the main tank time enough to get all the agro with clerics divining and chanters runing and he will drop in no time.
He was dropped in a few minutes last night on bertox server, only about 30people on the raid and there were maybe to many, only 3 died but that was not due to him.
Take it like the Paladin DW Helm, mana free heal. Addmit it we dr00ds get lazy sometimes and don't always cast a regen spell like we should. So considering you can just click yourself to full health it is helpful.
Actually, once you get your pet spell, these come in handy for buffing him up mana free. Grant it, Natureskin is much better, but for the mobs I use my pet on (greens for faction adjustment), mana free SLD is just the ticket.
I also use it to buff newbies in AC when I am hanging out auctioning there. That along with my NW boots free SoW and I am a buffing fool =)
The stats aren't too impressive, especially with things like Kromrif Military Leggings that are much easier to get (AC 14, str+6 wis+5 sv disease+5 sv cold+5, if I remember right--obtained solo as a 49 druid with a few hours of effort).
However, and this is just speculation as I don't have the greaves myself, but... What if the effect is combined with a manastone? It seems to me a right-clickable Skin like Diamond would be a free 200 point heal with a 12 second cast time--double the 6 second cast time of the original spell, right? With 3 uses of the manastone 180 of those hp would be converted to 60 mana. 60 mana in 12 seconds, or 30 mana a tick. Not bad, especially if you can sit during the cast time to get the 20 mana per tick or so from meditating too. Obviously this won't work in the planes or Kunark/Velious, but it could be very useful in a few places like the hole...
Anyone tried this?
(Edit: Well, you can no longer meditate while using right clickable items. Turns out you weren't supposed to be able to in the first place.)
just a little correction to your post it is now possable to meditate while casting. while sitting on a horse. best new item in the game is the horse for the luminescent staff and these pants. =0)

Why don't they put these on stuff we can take out, like in LGuk, or Mistmoore, or similar zone where the looter can USE the item... As is, this is little more than a twink item for HLs to give to their newbie druids, like all the other ES stuff.
