Book Text:

To be a truly skilled weapon
smith, one needs skill in both
blacksmithing and fletching.
While fletching often refers
to arrows, the skills
translate to woodworking in
general.

For much of the shields and
weapons you will need
Conflagrant Lumber. Simply
work Conflagrant Wood with a
Planing Tool.

To make shields you will need
the appropriate plans, tower,
kite, or buckler, High Impact
Lacquer and the appropriate
amount of lumber. Tower
shields need four lumber, kite
three, and buckler two.

For a sword, axe, war sword,
and bastard sword You will

need some of the same basic
components as well as two cut
conflagrant diamonds, specific
to each weapon. Use Phlogiston
Coal to heat the forge and a
Hilt Mold to shape the hilt.
You will make the fine
adjustments to the shape of
the hilt after the initial
forming. These weapons require
two Conflagrant Ore and a
sharpening stone to hone the
edge. Add the two cut diamonds
before the cool. Do all of the
work in one session and don't
forget your smithy hammer.

For a sword use two square cut
diamonds, for an axe use two
trillion cut diamonds, for a
war sword use a marquise cut
and square cut diamond, and
for a bastard sword use a
marquise cut and oval cut

diamond.

Claws can be made with
almost exactly the same
method, except you only need
one conflagrant ore. Use
half-moon and trillion cut
diamonds.

A rapier, saber, athame, and
bodkin also use a similar
method, but use a small hilt
mold. Rapiers need two pear
cut diamonds, sabers two
round, atheme two half-moon,
and the bodkin needs a
half-moon and an oval.

Two handed weapons work in a
very similar manner, but you
need a long hilt mold and
four ore. For the great axe
use two pear cut diamonds, for
the spear use half-moon and

trillion, and for the great
sword use a marquise cut and
an oval cut.

The stiletto is a special1
case. It is a small hilt item
with one ore, and it uses a
half-moon cut diamond, but
instead of the second diamond,
you will need a dose of
Draconic Poison, and some
Combine Refined Clay to make
a poison well within the hilt.

Wooden weapons use a similar
method, but quite different
materials. A rod, cane, mace,
censor, and battle rod al work
by using a planning tool to
shape Conflagrant Lumber to
rod plans, paint with High
Tensile Lacquer then finish
with two cut conflagrant
diamonds. For the rod use two

oval, for cane use two round,
for mace use oval and
trillion, for censor use oval
and round, and for battle-rod
use battle staff plans and a
half-moon cut with a trillion
cut.

The staves are also similar.
Use staff plans and three
lumber. For a standard staff
use two oval cut diamonds, for
a devotional staff oval and
trillion, arcane staff two
round, and for a battle staff,
use battle staff plans with
half-moon and trillion cut
diamonds.

And the last things to make
are two bows. You will, of
course, use bow plans. It
takes two Conflagrant Lumber
and a Shimmering Steel Bow

String. For a compound bow use
square and half-moon cut
diamond while a standard bow
needs two half-moon cut.
