Dropped for me today...stats have not changed...
It is a rare drop....I saw 2 of these drop in about 30 spawns of Lord of Loathings....

Got one last night.
The good news is the Diamondskin has unlimited charges.
The bad news is it still uses a peridot =(
So if you are level 52 or higher you have to decide what is better for you, using the right click or casting mana skin wich absorbs more damage and has a slight mana regen.
Diamond skin is a 394 point asorbtion shield.
Durations is 1 hour and 30 minutes or untill it absorbs the 394 damage. Does NOT protect you against spells what so ever.
This rod looks exactly like Rod of Insidious Glamour (chanter wand) when held (primary hand only cause it's a weapon)

Skin also absorbs the damage caused by a mod rod.
Though I have never tested it, I assume you can use a wiz epic staff to mod rod up to full without losing health.

I've done testing with the skin spells versus DD spells/HT. The skins *do* absorb their full amount from the spell or HT you take. i.e. you take a HT for 500 with Diamondskin up, you only take 106 damage.

I don't know the duration, but there is a cast time on this in case you were wondering.
I was so happy to get this item, I had thought it would be a nice temporary until we got the epic.
Unfortunately as the above post states, it does eat the peridot upon casting. It's only truly useful if you can't cast manaskin.
